  • Yo man your video really help me man. Thanks Bro

  • i love your accent OrLawndo... very nice :-)

  • Hi a few more tips if you loaded your tunes & already scanned the BPM, some time you will notice a "STAR" * next to the tunes, if you have a tune loaded in say Deck "A" say 134 bpm then look down your list of songs, a * will be next to some of them, this indicates that its a perfect match to the tune you are playing, Also use the Key Lock next to the jog wheel this locks the key pitch, also if you dong have a midi/console you can assign key via a usb keyboard to mimic usb midi controller

    Dj~Ez

  • just downloaded this thought i`d check it out. like you say sometimes the beatmatching is out a little how do you fine adjust it, like the way you`d push a vinyl record on a turntable to catch up to a beat if you know what i mean can you even do this

  • @DICKTURPIN1976 you can use the pitch arrows next to the sync buttons or the actual pitch sliders. also if you are using an external controller, most of them give you several options to accomplish the same thing. This program can do anything any other dj'ing program can do and more. everyone should take a quick look at the manual, this program can do more than the eye meets. I have used itch serato and I can sincerely say this program is way better, but there is a learning curve.

  • @o1r2l3a4n5d6o7 thanks for the reply mate. this is the 1st one i`v downloaded, its a pretty impressive peice of software :) can you plug in a real mixer into your computer to control the crossfader/channel sliders/ gain/bass/treble and midrange.. now that would be cool..

  • @DICKTURPIN1976 You see on on the BPM dots at the top? MAtch the big ones up with both songs...

  • @VenomMusicRecords thanks for the reply mate, yeah i figured that out. i`v been matching it by ear at the moment without headphones. i tried plugging just my mobile phone earbuds in the computer but nothing happens :(

  • @DICKTURPIN1976 if you change the configs 2 headset and speakers and press pfl on one off the decks you can lissen 2 the one deck meanwhile you are djing on the one deck

  • @deadbird58 i`v tried that mate it dont work, but since read you need a 2nd sound card or usb sound card or something to do this

  • @DICKTURPIN1976 i did not need that and i use my speakers and my headset

  • sigh... virtual dj.....

  • i request you guys to read virtual dj mannual before getting started.

  • how did u record the video of your screen?

  • Hi there thanks for the reply please could you give me that link again it seems to be a coded account, :} The dj buiseness is not the same as it use to be, i have restarted the mobile discos and have been going for a year and last year i only had 4 bookings, it seems know one has anymoney:} and there are discos out there that will only charge *£80 I have restarted again this year, and have lowerd my pricess but there is only so far i can go. Are you very busy with discos???

  • hey dude how do you hear the other side of the song while the other is playing? cheers

  • @kui607 Keep the middle arro in the middle xD !

  • Hi there i have had the virtual dj for just a year now, I want to know if its possible to leave the system playing from one track to the next without you touching it?? ie if i want to get a drink is it possible to set it so it plays automatically for say half an hour??

  • thanks man. great tutorial and thanks for the tips!

  • Virtual dj is the easiest way to d.j for all lecels from starters to pros. Try using your keyboard ass well. I find it easier to operate the program with it rather than moving the mouse across the screen.like the guy says in the video learn the type of music you want to mix let your ear get used to the beat it takes a lot of listenin' and practice but afterwards you won't even need headphones or the need to buy extra equipment for your dj set. Very helpful tips on this video thank you.

  • do you have any videos on how to perfect scratching with the mouse and key board?

  • @nyjdavid I recommend you get yourself an external controller for scratching. Takes dough, but if you really want to do it right....

  • @TooColdKris your definatly right about it being expensive but im going to see what i can do about that, thanks

  • a question:At 6:04 how can i get a buttom of my keyboard to do this job so i dont have to get it with mouse??

  • dude you are talking too much

  • Amazing tutorial. I agree that djing is an art and like most arts u need to have some skill. But I also think that with patience and good training (like this vid) u can gain that skill to become an , at least, ok dj. Thanks again

  • Thanks it was very helpful you explained at a slow rate unlike others who rush.Thank you i appreciate you loading this.

  • @exqproductions - I usually delete negative comments but obviously if you are watching tutorials for dj'ing is because you are not an expert. This video is for beginners or people that want to take advantage of new technology. I agree that beat matching by ear is a good skill to have because the program does very well with most songs but not with all of them. New technology is there to make our lives easier, if you don't want to take advantage of it, that's your personal choice.

  • @o1r2l3a4n5d6o7 it makes our lives easier, but your mix sounded like shit. it's not as simple as you'd like it to be.

  • @exqproductions guess what! all us shitty ass dj's can do whatever the fuck we want. so you, can fuck right off. you can take your real dj turntable, and shove it right up you ass or give it to me because you do not deserve it. pussy ass bitch.

  • @exqproductions SOMEONE GOT MAD CAUSE HE CAN'T MIX! PAHAAHHA! ( trollface )

  • @exqproductions really ?..... you do you have to be like that ?

yes beat matching is a big part of mixing but if you are new to mixing then buy all means use the it.... dont be mad bro .... and btw what you did to that Astrix-sex style is awful do not do it again ! dont be a hater bro !

  • @exqproductions you've suck all dreams out of my head ass hole

  • Great Tutorial question for you where can I download music ?

    Randallstowncomputerrepair

  • I beatmatch using my ears....not the sync button :)

  • How can i cue tracks in my headphones, but also use a microphone? It won't let me do it on my version of virtual DJ!!!???? HELP!!

  • @ThatDJTJ Buy a usb sound card and configure it in VDJ settings

  • I like how you have an A&B TATW mix in your Trance folder.

  • what program you use to record this video..?

  • @MegaBboyordie - I use Camtasia Recorder.

  • @o1r2l3a4n5d6o7 Camtasia ftw

  • sir can you give me the link so i can downloads the music you're using right there ? they sound great . thanks

  • anybody know how to record the mixes you do to mp3 or wav etc? did the programmers miss a trick here?

  • @PhobiaGuy - Actually this program is great for recording your mix in both formats, mp3 or wav. there is a record tab right on top of the music browser. it lets you record a long mix or cut in to separate tracks every time you switch the crossfader from side to side. It just takes a little of setting up to do. I'm sure you can find a tutorial on how to do it. if not let me know and i'll make one. :)

  • @o1r2l3a4n5d6o7 you are a true gent sir, thank you!

  • 15 people are just out of sync

  • thanks for waht you made. its ameazing i learn m a lot .

  • where can i find those beats?

  • everything is ok, except the effects you use when you want to fade out, just let them fade out softly without a backspin or something ;d

  • Thanks for the tip, check out my mix on my channel

  • SUBSCRIBED! Im hosting a new years party and I needed tips on how to mix songs on virtual dj. Its a great program and free. In the past, I tried mixing songs by just adjusting the volume and bass of the songs but it sounded really bad and choppy. The tip with the bpm was really helpful and I never tried the loop feature (or knew about it) till now. THANK YOU

  • Very good video thank u.

  • how to record our tracks (mixes) ?? in Virtual Dj ?

  • @MrSensation92 you check the middle bar where it says browser sampler effects and record..there you can klick record

  • @xxxmarco187xxx : K K ... i get it on my own,lol

  • flaaangger

  • anal-yze.loathe the file

  • i cant even figure out how to get music on it... some one please help

  • @miniward86 - Hi, sorry I didn't reply earlier. Did you figure out how to use the program.?

  • ima pro at virtual DJ and i can make something like dubstep :) if u dont believe me then dont but i can always send u a download link to whatever music u like just msg me :) Cya

  • dude it was even timed right you were off by three counts

  • Thanks for the tips to the OP. Further to Francista's question, I'm currently using the free downloadable VJ, and if your headphone socket of your laptop is already occupied with computer speakers, then you need to another output devise. Am I therefor right in thinking, the USB soundcard would pave way for you to be able to plug headphones in whilst running your active computer speakers?

  • what is a good sound card i should get for my windows laptop?

  • @TheRealMattJaramillo You can actually use about any soundcard you can find at a shop near you, it all depends on what kind of headphones and audiocable you want to connect to it. I recommend looking for soundcards on amazon and reading what people think about the soundcard they bought. Really helped me get the right one for my Laptop, since my Midi-controller doesn't have a integrated soundcard. Hope I could help

    greetings from germany

  • @SuperToastMC thanks bro! i think im just goling to buy headphones first then soundcard second

  • you sound like enrique iglesias

  • It's not bits per minute its beats per minute

  • @DJMIDDO97 Who cares?! We know what he means anyway - stop being pedantic.

  • nice, good simple tips

  • @garylamb2000 I agree, it's nicely explained and easy to follow :-)

  • Cool, thanks for the tips men..

but one thing? how is it work that u can listen first in your headphone before give the volume in the master volume is it all conected in one jack by the pc?

    Thanks

  • @MNVrS20 - you need to have a second sound card connected and configure it under settings. you can just buy a $20 USB sound card or and expensive one that has multiple outputs like "M-Audio Fast Track Pro - 4 x 4 Mobile USB Audio" $200. which will give you Master, Headphones and Microphone. good luck.

  • @MNVrS20 you could also use a 3.5mm jack to rca or change the audio config and assign one side of the speakers or headphones to be used for preview

  • "I wanna" haha lol ^^

  • Could you please let me know where you got your extra effects from? Thank you

  • Thankyou that was awesome! (i will have to watch a few times as im a beginner but i cant wait- i have hours of pre recorded mix to do for a party!!! thankyou!. : )

  • when i'm mixing into another song and i take the bass and treble off, i still hear bass kicks from the song i'm mixing out from how can i stop this?

  • Hey man i need help i have 5000 songs and wen i drag them to the decks it saids error and it doesnt play them how can i make vdj to plasy them????

  • @josegarivay - hey, Did you ever figure out the problem with your songs not loading. I would think that you have them in some other format, but if they are MP3s or MP4s then I would recommend you reinstall the program.

  • @josegarivay I had a similar problem. The problem for me was that using windows media player would "manage" my music library and often relocate the tracks (usually in an artist folder). After media player moved them vdj does not automatically fix the broken path. There are some setting in the config that can re scan your hard drive, but I found it best to stop using other media players. Hope that helps.

  • thanks bro it helps like myself a starter. :)

  • nice tips, but have known all of them :P

  • how do you listen 2 the music in your headphones without the crowd hearing it

  • @Francista531 - There is several way to achieve this. 1) if you only have one sound output on your computer you can buy a USB sound card and go to setup and sound options to configure vdj to use two sound cards. 2) You can buy a M-AUDIO or Versaport sound card with two channels input and output. 3)and the last way to achieve this is by using a digital mixer controller with integrated sound card like (Hercules rmx). if you have more questions post them, i'll tray to get back as soon as i can.

  • @o1r2l3a4n5d6o7

Great, thank u.. i will try all that.

    appreciate all the tips

  • @o1r2l3a4n5d6o7

    It’s me again,

I look that usb sound card you telling me and found that there a several types in bestbuy store is there way you can tell me which one is the good one for me to buy it.

    Thank you.

  • @o1r2l3a4n5d6o7 Uhh....any actual dj would know that you can ALSO use a REAL mixer. Which, by the way, would be the best idea.

  • @Francista531 use bluetooth headphones and in options by setup choose the option that says PLUS sound device or something like that

  • @Francista531 - use two sound cards and configure them under settings.

  • @o1r2l3a4n5d6o7 If you have one soundcard capable of multiple channels (like 2 channel or 4 channel) you can "simulate" multiple soundcards without actually needing 2 sound cards. However, with practice, you can get to know your music and work without headphones. I don't use them most of the time myself.

  • Comment removed

  • @Francista531 In config go to sound set up and change "outputs" from single output to "Headphones" then you also have to change your sound card setting from "simple" to "multiple sound cards". designate your headphones for one channel (or card) and set your speakers to the other channel (or card). Your active deck will not play in the headphones

  • @TooColdKris got in one dude i'm just using a 25 pound soundcard and it works perfectly, may I add its easier if you install any software that came with it, and change settings from that rather than windows sound settings
