@isctony you nearly got it! I do smooth the FG, then a bit of body filler to get perfect smoothness (at least that's the plan) and then I'll give it a go at painting (although I might just take it to paint shop...)

All that actually is foam. There are 2 types, one is spray can builders foam (one for filling gaps when fitting windows and stuff) and the other is AB Foam. And after working on the project for some time now, I can tell you: stay away from spray foam! Some of them are eaten away by resin! And most of time it's just waste of money, as it grows in every direction except the one it should! So you end up spraying lots of it and then sanding even more and bubbles in it are huge!So AB Foam all the way
