Oscar Grant had a criminal record and he was resisting arrest. The cop did the right thing in shooting him. Resisting arrest does not necessarily warrant SHOOTING the suspect as a means to detain him. He was unarmed, thus creating no threat. He was being totally cooperative. A lot of people make mistakes in their lives. It is not 100% accurate of being indicative of their "character."

You better believe if that was one of my loved ones shot by a cop helplessly, I'd be doing a People Search(REAL QUICK) online for his address and paying him an unexpected visit.
I don't think cops should even have guns in the first place. Pepper spray and handcuffs should be good enough. They obviously cant handle carrying a gun, EVEN with proper training. Idiots!

Has anyone stopped to think that maybe this was really an accident? I mean it's inexcusable, but what if the cop was actually trying to Taze him and pulled the wrong piece? Inexcusable, yes but maybe unintentional as well.
The cops all break contact with him like they are expecting a taze and as soon as the shot is fired you can see the officer reholster and react like he knew that he had just pulled the wrong trigger. I'm not justifying, just saying, it might have been unintentional.

First of all, I was using the colloquisims to make a point to fuckdapolice, showing him how stupid he and those like him sound to the rest of us. Secondly I wasn't calling all black people bad-ass ganstas, just morons like him who say fuckdapolice. And third, maybe just maybe the #'s of blacks killed by cops is in direct proportion to the amount of crime being committed by them. Maybe it's a cultural thing. No I'm saying that the law of averages dictates that if there are more blacks than whites committing crimes, then the # of blacks being shot by cops is going to be higher than the # of whites shot by cops. You are the one making this a black vs white issue, I'm saying that this might have been a fucking accident by the cop, but in your warped racist mind, it's because he was black and the cop was a white guy abusing his "power".

I agree and blacks shouldn't be shot on the subway either, but your missing the point. More blacks are shot by cops because there are more instances of them having guns pointed at them by cops. Not because of racism but because they are committing more crimes and acting more belligerent towards the cops pointing said guns. The black culture encourages youths to commit crimes and be disrespectful to authority. Can you deny that?

I was trying to watch the video and I listened to the people talking in the background taking pictures, filming, and yelling let them go, no wonder the police officer had a gun in his hand there was more of a threat by the people watching than the indecent itself. If we did not have gun control laws the police would have not even needed to be there. I wish the cop was not white so we could stop with the racist comments about white people.

the BART cops (not Oakland cop, but subway cop) have no reason to be afraid of the crowd here, it's clear that they are no threat. clearly this ill-trained officer was the threat.
wiferachel... you should consider this as the case of an armed officer drawing a firearm on an unarmed civilian surrounded by more ARMED officers... think as a civilian and your rights, instead of wishing the cop wasn't white.
