Hang gliding (winch tow) in Altes Lager Berlin January 2011

really nice field you have there. How high are u able to tow the gliders up? What is the price of the single tow? I am interested in visiting.

Altes Lager is an old Russian Military Airport with lot's of room ... it won't get much better than this :-).

Winch tow wil get you up between 300 - 400m, Ultralight towing is also available. In regards to prices, you have to look up the flight school "flymagic Dot De" and talk to Martin Ackermann, who is a really good instructor and a very cool dude :-).

@yedaki76 oh thank you for the info. But i'm not interested in schooling, i'm already a certified HG pilot with lot of winch experiance, was just curious about winch launches and their price. I might be in Berlin soon so i was thinking of bringing my equipment and do some flying ower there.

if you just want to fly, look up the flying club - they are also flying at Altes Lager but I don't remember their name. In any case you can contact Martin who will help you getting the infos you need.

...aller Anfang ist schwer, vor allem wenn man neben neuer Startart dann auch noch das Gerät wechselt, sieht im Video auch schlimmer aus, als es sich angefühlt hat...

@yedaki76 yeah.. i never had any oscillation problems during tow, but after tow when I've tried to pull speed I've had them... It might help during tow if you don't pull in
