Dude, what an awesome little groove. I have to say this is inspiring me to get really creative with mine and start making some noisey breakbeats, like this. That little bit of jazz piano at the end adds a nice feel, by the way.

I have already found several of this electribe, which utilizes samples. I feel like samples would take to long to create and that making music with a sampler would be very laborious. Where did you get all these beautiful samples and how did you get them onto our machine. Tanks for your time!
this was the first time i;ve done sampling. i edited samples from Tycho's songs to audacity then transfered them via smart media card. true. sampling becomes laborious when you're trying to do something deliberate. most of the exhibition i posted here are pure incidental, without any thought. you should check out Roland's SP 404. that's the best sampler in my opinion
i really enjoy music such as the amazing kind you make and have begun looking for cheaper priced electribes, as they seem like exactly the thing i need to get started. It seems like the EM-1 which is an all in one, no sampling kind of thing is what I should get, but they are little harder to come by.
I've been trying to find out if you can load a sample of say a trumpet and have something like the multipitch function on the SP1200, so you can automatically have a simple scale with which you can play a melody. Or you have to resample to the respective tones in a scale to create one - that would be a great pain though. I downloaded and read the manual but still can't figure it out.
damn dude! you're great man! if you have time can you pm me what samplers u used and where thanks... i have EA-1, ER-1 and ES-1 for almost 8 years but i rarely use it lol.. need some tips hehehehe

i strictly believe that i've done what i was suppose to do here...which is taking samples from OTHER songs and making something new. of course it's not original but it takes the fun out of "sampling" if you make your own samples. i do not like the automated drum pattern i did here. it takes away that dynamic interaction...like you're actually playing a conventional instrument like a piano or a guitar
coming from me....props is a pretty big deal. way to go man. i cleared every single thing off and made my own samples....since i finally figured out how to load from a card. it was a real hassle....but im a master mind on a wave table....so it was only natural to edit on a table....then upload what i wanted. people limit themselves so much. i strongly recommend getting rid of everything there....and making your own samples. if youre up to the challenge.
Sounds good. It would probably make a good break in the middle of another song, but I'm not convinced that it could stand alone. But, still, it makes me rethink the ES-1. Kudos. :)
You've convinced me to get an ES-1 now but i just have a question.
Would you recommend getting the MK2 or not?

I'm starting to feel the itch to play around with something like this as a hobby. Sounds easy but looks difficult....love it!

nicely done! i'm thinking of getting one of these to dabble in sampling. Can you take mp3's from your computer and use them as samples on this?
moustachiomcphee 1 year ago
@moustachiomcphee yes you can. but i believe the mp3's has to be in a different sampling freq. (not 44100khz)

Ugh, could they have chosen an even worse font for on the ES-1? I think the whole thing looks quite ugly, eventhough it's quite a powerful machine.
