My family stayed eight nights at the Thunderbird Hotel in Las Vegas in the summer of 1966. I was only ten years old, but I remember walking through the casino to get to the coffee shop every day; you couldn't linger in the casino or one of the employees would rush you along. More than twenty years later, I stayed at the El Rancho Hotel when I passed through Las Vegas. One of the desk clerks told me it was the same hotel, but it had been remodeled to such a degree that I did not recognize it!
