  • Its made by crate you said? Do you know where it is manufactured? Is it one of those cheaper lines made in China or indonesia? I had never heard of this amp until recently. Nice bluesy tones. Good playing too! ;)

  • I'm either getting this or a epiphone valve junior valve junior which I'd best for clean but blues distortion solos etc

  • why is it soo cheap??

  • @jamezcollinz cos ur gay

  • Oh, I forgot the bass is great (though I agree it does't show on this video).......I personally prefer the bass on the separate cabinet version (a bit deeper I think)

By the way......the comment he made about Crate being in financial trouble.....that was posted 2 years ago.....and this line is selling like hotcakes.....the build and dependabiliy has also been excellent (I took, one apart....real Emmence speaker!)

  • I have spent considerable time playing on this amp (both this version and the separate head/speaker versions) using single coils, P-90's, and some humbuckers.

I prefer the 3 watt setting......and at that setting is is one of the most deep, rich, lush, tones I have ever heard from a good tube amp, on top of that it sells for very little, great for living room, practice , small gigs (small coffee house) AND this unit responds excellent with digital effects, that is unusual I think.

  • can you get a pretty clean tone with humbuckers

  • it have a nice tone but to simple for me, I just can't live without reverb tremolo and a master volume

  • jesus man dial some bass into that

  • @ruffles272 its the camera recording. It has a nice round tone.

  • I've got one of these, and it is good value for the money!

Sounds better IRL than on this demo. Awesome tone with my old Hofner jazz guitar!

  • I ordered one of these from musicians friend the other day and it should be here almost any day now. I plan to fire it up and really run it through the paces. I have a Ibanez ds7 tone lok distortion pedal so I'll hook that up to see how well it likes pedals. I'll drop a line soon and tell you all how it goes!

  • all of them amps slound the same its the guitar player that matters!

  • Dude...what's that amp covered in blue velvet next to it?

  • That is a Zinky Blue Velvet! Very nice Amp.

25 watts of pure boutique tube power.

  • what guitar r u using?

  • 1994 US Nashville Tele with active EMG p'ups.

  • @jmbstudios thats why... i see...

  • Good Playing, maybe next time tell th camera man to take some alergy meds, or is that a duck ??? LOL

  • Well its the resident parrot....

He likes to act like a duck, I guess!

  • I bought one and was disappointed. Am I the only one? Sounded too thin and boxy, cleans weren't there at all but it is loud. I rattled my condo! What guitar are you using on your vids by the way.

  • Thats an American Nashville Tele. Also sounds great with my Gretsch 6120.

  • Was someone violating a duck in the background?

  • Thats Diego, the resident Blue and Gold Macaw!

  • whats it sound like dimed

  • is this loud enough to play in a 4 piece rock cover band at bars?

  • with 5 watts not really..

you probably want 10 watts or more

or mic a 5 watt amp

  • yeah Diego!

(thats bout the coolest bird name i've heard)

  • i always use a pedal to drive it, there's no way i could crank it with my crazy neighbour

  • Just fuckin crank that shit, and then whack your bitchy ass neighbour over the head with 8 pounds of hardwood. You'll be glad you did cause this amp sounds beautiful when its all-out.

  • yeah i totally fuckin did, and it totally fuckin blew me away. my neighbours were on vacation though lol

  • Thats sum funny shit right there!!

  • thatsd what i want to do , i want to plug my pedal into it , but i play only in my bedroom so i cant cranked it at all , would you suggest it anyway , i have my distortion pedal , no need to crank here . is it still a good amp when not crankedto drive pedal

  • yeah it is a decent amp to use with pedals

  • wow, that little sucker is going to be great for recording in my apartment.

  • depends upon how nice your neighbors are. That's 5 *tube* watts, it will have about half the volume of a 50 watt tube amp. I have a 5 watt Epi Valve Junior, a very similar amp, I use a weber attenuator to keep it at volumes that don't disturb the neighbors, otherwise even a decent clean tone is a bit noisy, and the sweat break-up sound is quite loud. (It also has no master volume, the only way to get it is to crank it up!)

  • You can play it in 3 watt mode though.

  • 3 tube watts are plenty loud too.
