Its made by crate you said? Do you know where it is manufactured? Is it one of those cheaper lines made in China or indonesia? I had never heard of this amp until recently. Nice bluesy tones. Good playing too! ;)
Oh, I forgot the bass is great (though I agree it does't show on this video).......I personally prefer the bass on the separate cabinet version (a bit deeper I think)
By the way......the comment he made about Crate being in financial trouble.....that was posted 2 years ago.....and this line is selling like hotcakes.....the build and dependabiliy has also been excellent (I took, one apart....real Emmence speaker!)
I have spent considerable time playing on this amp (both this version and the separate head/speaker versions) using single coils, P-90's, and some humbuckers.
I prefer the 3 watt setting......and at that setting is is one of the most deep, rich, lush, tones I have ever heard from a good tube amp, on top of that it sells for very little, great for living room, practice , small gigs (small coffee house) AND this unit responds excellent with digital effects, that is unusual I think.
I ordered one of these from musicians friend the other day and it should be here almost any day now. I plan to fire it up and really run it through the paces. I have a Ibanez ds7 tone lok distortion pedal so I'll hook that up to see how well it likes pedals. I'll drop a line soon and tell you all how it goes!
I bought one and was disappointed. Am I the only one? Sounded too thin and boxy, cleans weren't there at all but it is loud. I rattled my condo! What guitar are you using on your vids by the way.
Just fuckin crank that shit, and then whack your bitchy ass neighbour over the head with 8 pounds of hardwood. You'll be glad you did cause this amp sounds beautiful when its all-out.
thatsd what i want to do , i want to plug my pedal into it , but i play only in my bedroom so i cant cranked it at all , would you suggest it anyway , i have my distortion pedal , no need to crank here . is it still a good amp when not crankedto drive pedal
depends upon how nice your neighbors are. That's 5 *tube* watts, it will have about half the volume of a 50 watt tube amp. I have a 5 watt Epi Valve Junior, a very similar amp, I use a weber attenuator to keep it at volumes that don't disturb the neighbors, otherwise even a decent clean tone is a bit noisy, and the sweat break-up sound is quite loud. (It also has no master volume, the only way to get it is to crank it up!)

I've got one of these, and it is good value for the money!
Sounds better IRL than on this demo. Awesome tone with my old Hofner jazz guitar!

You can play it in 3 watt mode though.
