Looked at some when I made my switch to a cruiser, but the neglected pieces of shit I saw were way overpriced. I mean like $15k Australian for some shit '95 model! I prefer working on a metric bike - it just makes more sense. PLus my VTX1800 shits all over any Harley I come across and looks shitloads better than most IMO.
This is one reason I've been reconsidering the Harley. Instead I was thinking about getting a kit to build one myself. I would like to cherry pick parts and put it together that way, but I don't have that kind of experience yet.
My evo sounds unlike anything that HD is building today. Love the StreetGlide alot, but would like for it to be an Evo motor instead of the new twin cam fuel injected scooters.

I don't ride a Harley & won't have one. I'm happy with my Yamaha 1100. But the Harley family sold out to AMF back in the 80's & commenced to ruin the bike w/cheap part for higher profits. The Family saw what was happening & bought it back & started making dramatic changes for the better. Good bike but not for me. Value is artifically propped up & I don't care what anyone says, they spend more time in the shop than any of the rice burners I know.

You don't want to know - the words are rubbish really - the concept is a type of freedom which I appreciate and overall, love the ad, but the words are pretty lame.
I'm planning to build one in 2012/2013 which will have a Shovel or a Blockhead (or Evolution), Baker six speed gearbox, a springer front end. The frame will be a polished aluminum Softail frame. Some will hate me but I want a exhaust system that doesn't have more than 60-70 dba. It will have the right galloping horse idle note without being obnoxiously loud.
It's all about the wind and the freedom, not any particular brand of motorcycle. I've had Honda's, Harley's, and lots of others, but today I ride my own creation, a VW Trike. It's all the same...
C'mon man that isn't all true. I mean each style of motorcycle has its own niche of riders... cruiser riders of all types usually wear old school leathery stuff, sportbike riders usually wear the bright colored crazy armor, and touring riders usually wear company brand label stuff. I mean that is like saying that Americans are like sheep because most of them wear bluejeans. To each their own.

I believe I will continue to design, build and ride my own bikes. Using S&S on anything and everything I touch, because I'm never going to pay for the Harley name being on my bike! I also believe, when I am to old to build one, I'd go with Titan, or one of the other small production companies, who often build a more complete package, rather then going harley, and spending that amount again, just to get the bike looking, feeling, sounding damn good. A Harley, is a begining of a project.

@superfly638 I believe that if not for Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki, there would be no Harley Davidson. When Harley was on the verge of bankruptcy other manufacturers were blackmailed into bailing Harley out in order to maintain accsess to the North American market. Amazingly to this day Harley still cranks out stone age technology pig iron.

I don't ride a Harley & won't have one. I'm happy with my Yamaha 1100. But the Harley family sold out to AMF back in the 80's & commenced to ruin the bike w/cheap part for higher profits. The Family saw what was happening & bought it back & started making dramatic changes for the better. Good bike but not for me. Value is artifically propped up & I don't care what anyone says, they spend more time in the shop than any of the rice burners I know.

I'm planning to build one in 2012/2013 which will have a Shovel or a Blockhead (or Evolution), Baker six speed gearbox, a springer front end. The frame will be a polished aluminum Softail frame. Some will hate me but I want a exhaust system that doesn't have more than 60-70 dba. It will have the right galloping horse idle note without being obnoxiously loud.

I mean each style of motorcycle has its own niche of riders... cruiser riders of all types usually wear old school leathery stuff, sportbike riders usually wear the bright colored crazy armor, and touring riders usually wear company brand label stuff. I mean that is like saying that Americans are like sheep because most of them wear bluejeans. To each their own.

I believe I will continue to design, build and ride my own bikes. Using S&S on anything and everything I touch, because I'm never going to pay for the Harley name being on my bike! I also believe, when I am to old to build one, I'd go with Titan, or one of the other small production companies, who often build a more complete package, rather then going harley, and spending that amount again, just to get the bike looking, feeling, sounding damn good. A Harley, is a begining of a project.
