  • in basic, our drill sergeants would get pissed if we did a push up like that. they made us tuck our elbows in so they were almost brushing the side of the body.

  • It okay but needs changing in places

  • This guy is retarded haha. When you do situps you have to interlock your fingers behind your head at all times.

  • Im 13 and can do a mile in 8:00

  • @STUIPEDCHICKEN Good work pal, try and lower that, its a mile and half in under 10. Good luck!

  • @RequiemHD wait what? i thought it was 2 miles?

  • @eyesack9 Nope! 1.5 miles for soldier, bleep test up to 10.3 for officer!

  • @RequiemHD They implementing the new APRT???

  • i suck at push ups

  • Comment removed

  • umm...your hands have to be behind your head interlaced for the sit ups. I'm going thru basic right now.

  • and im pretty sure your hands gotta be a lil closer together than that. so your elbows can point backward not out to the sides

  • It looks to me like you have a bend in your back and if I'm not mistaken, Army standards are head and eyes straight to the front not "neutral" for pushups and hands interlocked behind your head for situps. But what do I know, I was only in JROTC for four years, the battalion commander, and going to basic training in under two months

  • @terriyakipython1

ahhhh 11 bang bang comon haha jk! lol nah thats hella good though. I ran track so as far as I'm concerned my 2 mile isnt shit. the most pushups I ever got though was 93. what was your overall score?

  • it's easy for him, he's black!

  • @monkeysrool75 Big Black Penises are tasty.

  • @cabrame The Black cock.

  • By the way, for males, 100 is 6:45 minute miles, appx.

  • Wrong.....

  • really wrong

  • your push ups are wrong, and the sit ups are wrong too ..lol I'd know I just graduated from osut on the 7th

  • 19 delta cav scout here

my highest PT score is a 342

    84 pushups ( I think I had)

    100 sit ups

    12:27 2 mile

  • @mkearns68 im looking into joining the u.s army 19D Cav Scouts, and i want to know how is the pft i'v been training sence Feb 2011 and i can run 1.5 miles in 13 mins, im afraid that i wont be able to pass the 2.0 Ml run under 16 mins tho, what happens if i DO NOT pass the run but i pass everything else

  • @SADxBOY1

If you pass everything but the run you still fail the test you have to pass everything in order to pass.

practice taking longer strides when you run and do sprints also. that will really help you out

and I hope you join as a cav scout. I love every minute of it :D

  • In the Army 1 rep of pushup is upper arm parallel to ground... Touching the chest to the ground is WAY lower than necessary.

  • he forgot the where you do 500 a hour and have someone screaming there guts out at you

  • his face look like Agile in die hard 1.

  • Pusups were good and on point, situps you have to have the finers interlocked behind your head now and only part of your foot that has to touch the floor are your heels. The mile time is under 9:30 now. I've been in the Army for about 3 years now.

  • i swear there always has to be a bunch of people making theses stupid comments give it rest people most of you wouldnt know a good sit up or push up if it bit you on the ass

  • Hey.. When you do push ups your are looking straight foward at all times.. Nt netural. When you do the sit ups you need to make sure your hands are interlock because you will be disquilifed. I know this cause I aint to long came from basic and AIT.

  • Hands must be locked behind your head during sit up and head must not go past the knee.

  • negative

  • hahaha i can get a mile in 6:20 standards are a joke. Wish me luck though cause I'm leaving to Ft. Lenardwood on July 12 for basic.

  • incorrect.

  • My favorite part is 0:30

  • Just in case you didn't know what pushups and situps were

  • A Mal in 8 min hahaha!

  • A proper Army situp requires you to interlace your fingers behind your head. If your fingers are not laced behind your head then the situp does not count.

    Otherwise, the exercises were fine.

  • @Kiba2417 If they become unlaced then you fail.

  • haha...y'all don't want yo butt all up in da air

  • Cross your hands? CROSS YOUR HANDS?!?!?!? WRONG.

  • i bet he likes poppin caps and slappin bitches....just sayin....

  • @chasemano789 I know especialy with this lieral majority we have in our government I dont think any branch would be funded if they werent needed

  • If you're thinking being in the army is all about travel and adventure then you may want to reconsider. If travel and adventure is what you're after then you should consider being a flight attendent on long haul airlines. War is not about travel and adventure.

  • @1982FMJ yea but not all soldiers do the fighting haha so a lot do travel.....

  • you don't do push ups like that in the army, u have to keep your elbows in to your sides wen your doing them... and its 1.5 miles in 10 minutes to get in

  • @Ghowlz Yeah but if you can run 1 in 8 minutes then the 1.5 youcan do in 10 so his information still holds water.

  • @icychillgrill3 err if you are doing 1mile in 8 then it's 1.5 in 12 not 10

  • @icychillgrill3 oh damn! your right!

  • @icychillgrill3 my bad XP

  • I would like to join Commander and become a commander officer when i grow up for now i am in my teenage doing a lot of exercises and push up.

  • haha wrong.

pushups. u go down till your arms are a 90 degree angle.

situps. u have to cross your fingers behind your head Im in the army an thats straight from my serg

  • ur supposed to have ur head up... and ur arms dont look right lol

  • A couple more months..then I'm joining the army

  • @Futuresoldier121 join the Marines. the army makes u soft. 8 hrs of sleep and all u can eat food. might as well go to some summer camp

  • @Futuresoldier121 me tooo uhhhhhh im scared...

  • Thanks for this video :)

  • just to tell u when u r doing sit-ups, u r make to do is put ur hands together behind ur head

  • @ttmkilla thank u!!!!!!!!!!! thats how its done inter lock the fingers behind the head, what they dont tell u is that ur gonna start runnin 2-3 miles ur second week!

  • for Army basic training when you're doing sit ups your fingers interlocked on the back of your head. And you should be able to run two miles before BCT

  • @Knightmareninja Did you actually try running or did you speed walk, because even if your body is ready to give out just keep going. In any branch of the military your mind needs to be stronger than your body.

  • @RDGcelica1 yea i started using cadences, this does increase my running time and distance. Mind over body :)

  • wait where is he?

  • You're kinda using your momentum for the sit ups

  • hands to ear sit ups dont count ...... fingers must be innerlocked behind head........

  • is this for the uk army or american

  • dont wanna have ur head up, DONT WANNA HAVE UR HEAD ALL THE WAY DOWN, u want it neutral.

  • My record was a mile in 4:21

  • A mile in 8 mintues to getin infantry in british army i had to run a mile and half in 11 mins flat

  • @mckenna113 its two miles in 15 minutes. not a mile in 8

  • @MrElectricBass Btw its two miles in 15:54 mins/secs lol

  • @MrElectricBass Wrong...recruiters will tell you to do a mile in 8, even though you should do 2 mi in 16. When you join you don't have to be able to pass the military standard, that's what basic training is for, and to teach you basic soldier tasks

  • this is for the german army right?

  • Actually Pull Ups are in other branches, Navy Spec Ops requires that you can perform a Minimum of 6 Pull ups but they wont give you a contract unless you can do around 13

  • @xtomxcanfieldx Same with the Rangers.

  • I just started running but i run 1.4 miles in 7:29 i guess im not outta shape lol

  • you forgot pullups.

Pullups are important for the military too.

  • Pull ups are used to gauge strength for the USMC. They aren't used in any other branch of the military.

  • Learn something new everyday

  • Mainly for marines.

  • Push ups are good, but fingers have to be touching/ interlaced behind your head in order for a sit up to count when conducting the APFT.

  • would crunches be better than sit ups?

  • when he put his head to his chest, there is no argument, he sounded exactly like cleveland from family guy!!!

  • /agreed

  • 1- make sure you can run a mile, no matter the time it takes. Sometimes "breathing" is more complicated than "runing", besause you have the strenght but you don´t know how to use and distribute it.

2-after 1-2 weeks of doing that confortable and taking the time you need, start to "lower" it. Gradually, but make sure everytime you´re a little bit faster.

3-That´s all (I did that just for fun and I achieved the 1-min-mile!)

  • 1 minute mile?! Meaning you ran a mile in a minute? You realise you have to run at 96 km/h to do that?

  • Ha Ha ! My mistake!

    I meant 8-minute-mile !

    ; )

  • Haha, no problem! If only a 1-minute-mile was possible!

  • What this guy said. It takes alot of ttime to get into decent running shape. Start running a good 6 months or more before basic. You'll be VERY glad you did.

  • Hell yea, I can runa bout a 1.2-1.4 miles in 7:35, but believe me, it took a WHILE, its no "2 days and ur a sprinter" u GOTTA work at it....

  • I can run a 7 minute miled on track. 6:49-50 on the treadmill. Im running 4.5 miles now at a 9:05 pace. I started in July running a 12 minute mile. It takes alot of work, but eventually it becomes routine.

  • pleas if you are going to clame that those are the army BCT exercises at least get the right standards such as for the sit up you must to have your hands interlocked on the back of your head

  • Yeah. I prefer crossed arms but you have to keep your fingers laced behind your head for the Army.

  • "Hey I'm here..." LOL!

Dude, you need to mention the resting position for pushups.

  • whats wrong about that? it works for your stamina and you upper body and core strenght and as long as you can do them to some degree then your in!

  • dont lisent to this guy he's wrong

  • lmao hey im here

  • The form you will do in the military for situps is hands interlaced behind the head. The maximum for 1 mile run is 8:30

  • lol "i'm here"

  • wrong
