I think that Soap she knows don't even know if Destiny might not have the baby,we just can not believe what everybody say, We have to see for ourself, they might want to have it as a surprise for the Finale Week even I know they will have to show Matthew and Destiny.

It really is sad that of all the "couples" on the show, and the two of the younger set who have known each other the longest and have really been there for each other, Matthew and Destiny never got their shot at being together. Sad.
@RedSonja92 Nora & Bo said that he ran away to stay with David & Dorian for a while to "deal with all the news/changes in his life." They think it's understandable/okay because "he's been through so much." Booooo. That's crap! He'd "deal with it" by being there for Des and his kid. He better suck it up lol
@TheALMOSTangel1789 I know I really hated that he just left. I know he'll be back but still Destiny was not able to just run away. She stayed and dealt with the kids at school, the moms fighting ect... It's not far that he gets to run away. He should stay and deal with the situation.
@lizsha2 Exactly. With so little time left, we don't need any ongoing drama/attitude from him, especially when she's so close to delivery. Smh, so sad that the show will end for Destiny the same way it started: with Matthew mistreating & taking advantage of her. She doesn't deserve it.

@fletcher373 I "lol'd" because I was over-exaggerating on purpose (I do that a lot when I'm frustrated haha). I don't understand why you don't think it could happen. TPTB have screwed their s/ls (and relationship) from the start with the endless implications of them becoming more than friends (only to have Matthew brush it off) and rushing this teen pregnancy s/l. Why would they begin to take the fans' opinions/wishes into consideration now that the show's ending?

I never said what matthew did wasn't realistic, in fact in one of my comments I wrote that it was a realistic reaction. Personally though that does not always happen, I'm not sure what boys you have know but I met and have friends that became teenage gathers while some wanted it aborted others did not. They took responsibilty for the child.
What sounds like was Nora was being selfish because she did not consider his POV and it does matter. As you pointed out that the initial thinking for a boy would be to abort that baby, why didn't they consider that. It should have crossed there mind that there could be an issue if Matt were to wake up and have a different opinion. Personally I don't know how you can say that IR couples are never considered soulmates when that is what Tea and Victor are..Even going back to AMC that is what Mateo
@pattytriciastrange That's true, but, Tea is still consider white even she latino. But, I think Matthew and Destiny will work things out even the show is about to be over, so, they have to have a happy ending like everybody else.

@Letreana15 True Matthew is thinking about himself at this moment but when he woke up from the coma he apologized to Des telling her he was sorry she had to go through all of it by herself. I do think Matthew is thinking of himself more then Des right now but he has pointed out that the outcome of the baby will affect both of their lives not just his. As for not being fair to Des, this is how Matthew has always treated Des that is why I'm confused why they were made into a couple.
@pattytriciastrange Wrong, Matthew has had many times when he has been a good friend to Destiny, just not as often. Alot of the men on OL have treated women they claimed to love even worse.
@fletcher373 but that is my point as her friend he may have shared some good times with Des but his behavior towards her is not different then the times he was mean to her. That's why i'm confused why they became a couple o.O I think they are better off as friends. And yes I do agree there are many men that have treated women way more terrible than Matthew has treated Destiny. But like I said it is nothing new considering Matthew wasn't always nice to Des either.
@pattytriciastrange forgot to add Cole's reaction to Starr's pregnancy was unrealistic, it isn't about different boys reacting differently I don't care who the boy is and how much he loves or thinks he loves the girl he wouldn't be happy about being a teen father. He would need time to adjust or even initially want her to abort. Matt's reaction is the same as any and every teenage boy it is realistic.
@RedSonja92 No, POC especially females who were a major group of viewers have not gotten anything ever on this show. It's been "others" that get whatever they want and the POC have to watch those they identify with be disparaged over and over again. TPTB at OLTL listened to the wrong group mainly those like a poster here that loved the fact the OLTL enforced wrong stereotypical lies reg female POC and now they all are going home. I say shows like this have not place in the 21th century anyway.
@RedSonja92 If you talking about next week, then, I think she goes in labor and probably something changes between Matthew and Destiny. Maybe he will be with Destiny and be a father I hope. Who knows. They better have a happy ending not a cliffhanging in the end.
A death of Matthew and Destiny's baby would be anti-climactic at this point. There's been too much drama round the entire prenatal life of the child. The writers would get more emotion out of their viewers with a live healthy birth than a "born sleeping" birth. But again I don't trust OLTL writers and surely don't trust RC so as @pattytriciastrange stated we are just going to have to see what happens.
I was thinking about the stillborn angle as well. After watching soaps for 35 y & this one for 20 before I gave up on it, many babies don't make it. But what I've learned is that for a baby to actually make it alive there has to be drama around everything...the conception, during the pregnancy& at the birth. With Matthew upset with the baby & do not want the baby the drama at the birth is likely not death but Matthew's dramatic change of heart his love for Des and his acceptance of their baby.
Matthew and Destiny teen pregancy is better than Cole and Starr teen pregancy. Please, let them have a happy ending. I hope Eddie Ford won't mess it up. :(
I'm not really on a side for their argument. I mean Matthew could have been nicer and handled the conversation better but Destiny needs to look at Matthew's point: he just woke up and Destiny's going to have his baby. He hasn't had time to think about it and let it sink in. Destiny didn't want the baby at first either. She's had more time to come to terms with it.
Matthew is talking like what he is, a 17 yr old boy that sees his child as a burden. it doesn't matter who the mother is, it is the fact that the child exists that is his issue. And if he didn't want to face that issue, he should have kept his junk locked up until he was man enough to deal with the consequences of having sex. And Destiny needs to face the fact that, at their age, she has a really good chance of raising the child alone. Hair on their what-nots does not make teenage boys men.

Yeah, his actions pretty much say he doesn't want the baby... now. And if he never comes around, that doesn't mean Des has to give the baby up because HE wants her, too. For six months, she was prepared to be a single mom. Matt wakes up, Des goes to find out his intentions and learns he doesn't want to be part of the baby's life. Basically, her situation is the same -- single mom. But " out of sight, out of mind"? Really, Matt? Adoption only helps him. Everybody else is ready for this baby.
I'm on Matthew's side...I understand that he should have thought twice about having sex before actually doing it. However I'm on his side for a specific reason, my reason is simple and it is that no one consider the idea that maybe Matthew wouldn't want this baby. It is like everyone basically assumed that he would want this baby. I for one understand why Matthew is upset and I think it makes the story more realistic. and I think of it like Cole and Starr's storyline with a twist :)
@pattytriciastrange I can't speak for anyone else, but I definitely am not upset with Matthew because he doesn't want to be a father. Destiny initially didn't want to be a mom, they're teens so that's to be expected. I am however incredibly PO'd at how he's treating Destiny. I find his superior, nonchalant attitude in regards to not only their child but his feelings toward her to be very rude. His feelings constantly change and by now it's become annoying.
@TheALMOSTangel1789 I understand what you're saying but IMO I never really bought the love Matthew has for Destiny. I think he is honestly just confused even if he didn't want the baby & he cared about Des then he wouldn't treat her the way he is because it would be dangerous to put stress on her. However Matthew has always been this way with her so it doesn't surpise me one bit, I think the couple is better off going separate ways as well as giving the baby up for adoption.
@pattytriciastrange Oh I totally agree. That's what upsets me about him/the storyline. What was so difficult about leaving them as friends? As much as I ADORE Mestiny, there just wasn't enough time left within the show to do a s/l like this correctly (which IMO would involve Matthew actually admitting his feelings for Destiny), especially with his coma occupying the majority of the time they COULD have had. I just don't get it.

As a couple they just haven't had time to develop their relationship, & I haven't actually heard matthew admit his feelings but rather just say "I care." I haven't heard him say "I love you" to Destiny. It's clear that she does love him but I think Matthew only wanted her for comfort and nothing further than his already friendship that he has with her.

So what he wanted wasn't an issue. ofcourse Sole would want their kid OL pimped them to the heavens, but that wasn't realistic at all for teens. But since they are both white and Starr is considered some great prize, Cole begged her not to abort.

The problem's about how no one thought what if Matthew didn't want the baby which resulted to this dilemma. For one thing I do love Sole but I don't think that it has anything to do with Starr being white or Cole, it's about how not every teenage boy would react the same way. The show is ending so it wouldn't hurt the sensitibilites of those that can't stomach IR couples on this show. The show is over. And why cast a baby that's going to be born still? @pseacke You are right pseacke technically it's "stillborn" but idk I was just wondering whether or not it would be a possible for the writers to end up having destiny have a "stillborn" pregnancy I guess it will be up to the writers if they made a last minute change. But I was puzzled with the same question about the baby that has already been cast. I stopped reading spoilers like a month ago so I wouldn't know what the plan was I guess we'll just have to see what happens
@pattytriciastrange No, I don't think it'll happen. People are just assuming because they think Matthew attitude towards Destiny is foreshadowing a "you don't realize what you have until it's gone" sort of s/l. Idk, I can't see it happening, but some fans do think it'll happen.

@pattytriciastrange It wasn't an issue cuz Matt was considered almost brain dead, the dr told Bora to consider organ donation even. They hoped he would get better at the Philly facility but the chances were slim, so based on that why would they consider matt's pov if he got better when he probably wouldn't. That is the point of why Nora wanted the baby so much. As for Sole I've never seen an IR couple treated the same as a white couple period. An IR couple are never considered soulmates, never.

If PP hadn't gotten involved, do you think we would've seen, if not a fairy tale HEA for Mestiny, at least a realistic resolution or jumping-off point into the next phase of their lives? Matt's been given an out twice in this relationship, neither of which he's taken. Destiny, her parents, and his parents raising the child while he goes off to "live his life" makes HIM look like a deadbeat. Giving the baby up for adoption makes things "easier" and makes HIM look better. That is selfish.

Yeah, nobody here is blaming Matthew for his coma. That would be ridiculous. We were all here for six months hoping they'd wake him up, but we didn't think THIS was what we'd get when he did. 1 Matthew and Destiny made a choice to have sex and without protection. He finds out a pregnancy resulted from their poor choice before hand. Had they simply waited or used a condom, it wouldn't be an issue.

I understand he was in a coma but this is one of the outcomes of having sex. I'm sure Matthew will come around eventually. Destiny had months to think about things and he only found out less than a month ago so he just needs time.
Are all of you people serious? Matthews being SELFISH? He was in a COMA. If he could have prevented that, they would have gotten the abortion and had to live with the knowledge that they made a mistake of unprotected sex. Blaming Matt for a coma is ridiculous! @TheLycorisLove I would have to disagree. My best friend in HS got pregant in our junior year. She wanted her baby because she was in lub with his father. Her family let her make the decision and she had her baby. I would bring her homework to her everyday and her parents had to talk to the school's administration to keep her in school. A family that loves each other bans together for their children and in this case grandchildren.

Being a teen parent isn't easy, but a baby is not a disease/death sentence. I saw it that he knows hes to young and wants to have a future and doesn't want to have to have responsibility this young. The family could step up yes, but do you think the kid will want neglect from its FATHER and be raised by 2 sets of grandparents? I don't really think the kid will enjoy that life.

He can be too young but he was also too young to have sex. If he did then why should the baby be given away to strangers of there is family that want it, love it and are willing to step up? @Rushalee no I didn't laugh. I ROTFLED. This was comedic at points Tuc/Roxy brought the comedy and Eddie definitely had his moment with the remote. So funny.

and Hayley were so I how is that not true. I will agree they don't happen as often as same race couples but that doesn't mean it never happens. I never said what matthew did wasn't realistic, in fact in one of my comments I wrote that it was a realistic reaction. Personally though that does not always happen, I'm not sure what boys you have know but I met and have friends that became teenage gathers while some wanted it aborted others did not. They took responsibilty for the child.

What sounds like was Nora was being selfish because she did not consider his POV and it does matter. As you pointed out that the initial thinking for a boy would be to abort that baby, why didn't they consider that. It should have crossed there mind that there could be an issue if Matt were to wake up and have a different opinion. I do think Matthew is thinking of himself more then Des right now but he has pointed out that the outcome of the baby will affect both of their lives not just his. It's been "others" that get whatever they want and the POC have to watch those they identify with be disparaged over and over again. A death of Matthew and Destiny's baby would be anti-climactic at this point. There's been too much drama round the entire prenatal life of the child. The writers would get more emotion out of their viewers with a live healthy birth than a "born sleeping" birth. But again I don't trust OLTL writers and surely don't trust RC so as @pattytriciastrange stated we are just going to have to see what happens.

I was thinking about the stillborn angle as well. After watching soaps for 35 y & this one for 20 before I gave up on it, many babies don't make it. But what I've learned is that for a baby to actually make it alive there has to be drama around everything...the conception, during the pregnancy& at the birth. With Matthew upset with the baby & do not want the baby the drama at the birth is likely not death but Matthew's dramatic change of heart his love for Des and his acceptance of their baby.

Matthew is talking like what he is, a 17 yr old boy that sees his child as a burden. it doesn't matter who the mother is, it is the fact that the child exists that is his issue. And if he didn't want to face that issue, he should have kept his junk locked up until he was man enough to deal with the consequences of having sex. Yeah, his actions pretty much say he doesn't want the baby... now. And if he never comes around, that doesn't mean Des has to give the baby up because HE wants her, too. For six months, she was prepared to be a single mom. Matt wakes up, Des goes to find out his intentions and learns he doesn't want to be part of the baby's life. Basically, her situation is the same -- single mom. But " out of sight, out of mind"? Really, Matt? Adoption only helps him. Everybody else is ready for this baby.

I'm on Matthew's side...I understand that he should have thought twice about having sex before actually doing it. However I'm on his side for a specific reason, my reason is simple and it is that no one consider the idea that maybe Matthew wouldn't want this baby. It is like everyone basically assumed that he would want this baby. I for one understand why Matthew is upset and I think it makes the story more realistic. and I think of it like Cole and Starr's storyline with a twist :)

Destiny initially didn't want to be a mom, they're teens so that's to be expected. I am however incredibly PO'd at how he's treating Destiny. I find his superior, nonchalant attitude in regards to not only their child but his feelings toward her to be very rude. His feelings constantly change and by now it's become annoying.

They hoped he would get better at the Philly facility but the chances were slim, so based on that why would they consider matt's pov if he got better when he probably wouldn't. That is the point of why Nora wanted the baby so much. As for Sole I've never seen an IR couple treated the same as a white couple period. An IR couple are never considered soulmates, never.

One more thing before I go: Is this what we Mestiny fans get after 3 years because of PP's interference? I mean, EA didn't sign with them, but SE did. Now we have M&D seriously mad at each other, threatening to go their separate ways. If PP hadn't gotten involved, do you think we would've seen, if not a fairy tale HEA for Mestiny, at least a realistic resolution or jumping-off point into the next phase of their lives? Can we still expect that?

I don't know what their relationship will be like by the end they may just be co-parents. That would suck because they could have been a great couple but it would not surprise me because this show has always written them badly.

Matt's been given an out twice in this relationship, neither of which he's taken. Destiny, her parents, and his parents raising the child while he goes off to "live his life" makes HIM look like a deadbeat. Giving the baby up for adoption makes things "easier" and makes HIM look better. That is selfish.

Yeah, nobody here is blaming Matthew for his coma. That would be ridiculous. We were all here for six months hoping they'd wake him up, but we didn't think THIS was what we'd get when he did. And I've already said that I get where Matt is coming from. It even took Des months to come to terms with the pregnancy, and he's only had a few weeks. We. All. Get. It.
Suggesting that a woman/girl who has spent 7 months bonding with her unborn child give it up for adoption is not cool. Not cool.

1 Matthew and Destiny made a choice to have sex and without protection. He finds out a pregnancy resulted from their poor choice before hand. Had they simply waited or used a condom, it wouldn't be an issue.
2 It's not like they wouldn't have plenty of help. With Nora and Bo. Plus the Buchanan fortune.
Matthew is selfish. He does things and doesn't want to answer for them. He is acting more immature than Sam or Hope. He killed Eddie Ford and let others take blame and now this.

Are all of you people serious? Matthews being SELFISH? He was in a COMA. If he could have prevented that, they would have gotten the abortion and had to live with the knowledge that they made a mistake of unprotected sex. Blaming Matt for a coma is ridiculous! @TheLycorisLove I would have to disagree. My best friend in HS got pregant in our junior year. She wanted her baby because she was in lub with his father. Her family let her make the decision and she had her baby. I would bring her homework to her everyday and her parents had to talk to the school's administration to keep her in school. A family that loves each other bans together for their children and in this case grandchildren.

His parents and Destiny's parents are more than happy to raise the child. He would still be free to go off and live his life the way he wants to. @TheLycorisLove True, Matt shouldn't get a pass because he's young/was comatose. He made a conscious decision not to use protection; a baby resulted. Being a teen parent isn't easy, but a baby is not a disease/death sentence. Millions of young people have had children and done just fine & unlike most of them, Matt comes from money.That makes a big difference. He may have to make some sacrifices,but that's the life of an adult. His reasoning is self motivated. Plain &simple

@TheLycorisLove His thinking would work if he and Des didn't have the support of family. This child or it's parent are not alone in the world. There is family that is willing to step up. If the child was put up for adoption the family member would automatically be first in line to adopt it if they wished. The problem is Matthew. He doesn't want ANYONE to know he is the father of that child. That is NOT thinking about the welfare of his child. He is thinking only about Matthew.

I saw it that he knows hes to young and wants to have a future and doesn't want to have to have responsibility this young. The family could step up yes, but do you think the kid will want neglect from its FATHER and be raised by 2 sets of grandparents? I don't really think the kid will enjoy that life.
