it would not be a contradiction if there were troops available besides guard and reserve troops but there weren't. The troop "surge" at that time mean surge in the available troops now. Not gradually build up troops over the next several years.
the 2nd contradiction is that he said that he supported the surge before Romney. How is this not a contradiction?

The Arkansas Republican Assembly endorsed Fred Thompson 80%....the Huckster got 4%. What do his peers who worked with him 10 years+ know that his supporters don't? Better get a clue....

This used car salesman HUCKABEE. . .if I see another bold-faced outright lie on national TV from this goofball, first he lies about his college degree, then he looks Romney in the eye insisting Romney is the flake, not HIM.I can't stand folks who use religion to cover their GROSS INCOMPETENCE. Mike lied. ABC should have played the whole piece of that interview from a year ago because the lady prefaces her question with the fact that Rudy and Mitt were supporting the surge and then he says that he's not sure if he supports it. Then he lies last night and says he supported the surge when Romney didn't.
