I owned an '87 bonneville - handsome car, good fuel economy, and good power for the time. Very reliable engines (3.8L V6) that later became known as the 3800 Series II and III.. constantly made Ward's best engines lists. Those engines run forever.
The late 80s bonnevilles are best in black and supercharged.
The sad part is that we see at the end of this the dealer incentives... would become a huge problem for GM in the coming years / decades.
I bought a fully optioned '89 LE Bonneville new. It was an awesome car. With the upgraded rally tuned suspension, it handled brilliantly, quiet, very cold a/c, AM-FM stereo with CD player, upgraded interior, etc. This car was the most trouble free vehicle I'd ever owned up until then.
@sheemobile And then the 200-2005 generation looked and drove great, and then they killed that, and then like that other guy said they killed pontiac altogether, wtf GM?
it may be bought by a dealer who will take over closed factories. Who knows there may be hope. GM wasn't going to but after the bankruptcy they softened there stance and are talking about it

And now in 2009, Pontiac is getting killed off by GM.
Life is stupid.
