back in the day when men and woman had such fukd up hairstyles, and the dancing was even worse. aaahhh living above the ponsonby shops as a kid.with my mates laughing at the adults thinking they were movie stars on the ponsonby walk of local stars with absurd dress sense with high collars and men with super tight jeans, eeeeuuuwaa graeme brazier..stoned.....again
ha ha ha, I remember when TVNZ could not get any music videos for free from the record labels for a few months in the 80s, so all we had was this on the TV and that bl**dy "bop bop bop to the drummer" song. "So Spac!" as Kylie Mole would say!
RECORDED AT MASCOT STUDIOS...ENGINEERED BY BOB JACKSON,,,,REMIXED SOMEWHERE IN THE STATES....D RYAN /DRUMS...WALTER BIANCO /SAX...TAMA RENATA/GTR...NEIL EDWARDS /BASS...PAUL HEWSON/ KBDS..[LAST RECORDIND PAUL DID....A CRUMMER...J RIKKA..BEAVER../BVS.......SONNY/VOCALS..GUTAR....////SUBSTANCES...!..RECORDED 1983...I THINK...?......REAL FUN TIME...........
I saw him at a jazz and blues festival in Auckland in '93 or '94, I was fresh off the plane from the UK so had never heard of him but he was fucking awesome and wouldn't wrap up his set- just kept on playing- so they cut the power on him.
I Love this song and the way Sonny sang it. He was a great Idol of my fathers as well. I had no Idea he had passed only a year before my father Sonny. Arohamai ,Aroha atu ki te whanau o Hone Wikaira..aka the man SONNY DAY!!!!

hi birdstuckinchimney - Corben's my father-in-law. I dabble a bit on the bass guitar. One of my basses is in the video for corben singing up on the roof which corben signed for me ('68 Aria Diamond). Cheers for the comments, Todd.

Both wrong - This song was written by Clarence Clemons who toured with the boss as part of his band back in the day.

And what a GREAT song. Should have been an international smash. Who wrote it.
Fabulous lyric's, motivational and inspiring.
I didn't know he was dead, so his music lives in my heart.
