  • I wish I had that kind of talent.

Who else could run the gambit between shakespear and Ernest and could sing too.

  • Awesome tribute to a truly great person. We miss you Jim.

  • People shape our lives in many way and for me he shaped mind through the years, watching his many acts and just what the love I got a strength I got just watch a simple person not to bright but caring enough to fight for what he believes in and when he fell he was strong enough to pick himself back up to carry on with what he see is right. For me it was all his funny characters that brought out the best.

  • Anyone else get the song reference? :P

  • Rest In Peace Jim "Ernest" I loved all of your movies and have everyone of them!!!

  • one of the best actors in the world!

  • GREAT TRIBUTE! I LOVE JIM VARNEY WITH ALL MY HEART! HE'S MY HERO 4 EVER! R.I.P. JIM VARNEY 1949-2000!

  • @jvfunn3000

Thank you very much. Jim Varney was an excellent actor and a wonderful human being. His work should be remembered.

  • Jim was such a good looking man, a brilliant actor and a wonderful guy. I've been reading about him from his friends. He really was an angel and had a heart of gold just like Ernest did. No wonder he played the part so well. Only when he strayed from Ernest like characters, did the movie not do well even though he did a great job. Thanks for posting. I'm always on the look out for anything Jim Varney.

  • @InDeAskY1 Besides Ernest I also liked his performance as Jed Clampett in BEVERLY HILLBILLIES and Slinky Dog in TOY STORY!

  • @jvfunn3000 He did great on those, 2. The movie I was referring 2 was 'Snowboard Academy'. It had no heart, no moral fiber & some strong language & it had Varney saying the 's' & 'a' word, which usually don't bother me. But it does when they came from Jim. IMO, I don't think it was ever meant 4 him 2 be N these types of roles. Even though he gave other characters 100%, he seemed 2 give 110% where Ernest was concerened. He had a way of lighting a screen but he was completely radiating as Ernest.

  • @InDeAskY1

I've never seen "Snowboard Academy". I did like "The Beverly Hillbillies" alot and the "Toy Story" films. I also thought Blake Clark did a good job and tribute to Jim in Toy Story 3.

  • @1mrtime Yeah, Blake did a great job. 'Snowboard Academy' is like a B movie. Cheesy script. But bless Jim, he gave 100%. That's the only reason I bought it. But, when he strays too far from the Ernest like characters, it doesn't seem to work in his favor. He had something special with Ernest and it was his true calling. You know, the types of films with a weak moral backbone, foul language, no message? They don't pan out well for him even though he was a superb actor.

Thank you very much for watching. Jim was a great talent and a wonderful human being. I would love it if someone would write his biography. Men like this should be remembered.

  • @1mrtime There should be a bio. Absolutely. No words can begin to describe how awesome he was. I know he had his problems as we all do, but I still think of Jim as some kind of sweet angel from Heaven that came down to earth for a while to make up happy and then God called him back. I know it felt to soon for us, and it does seem the good die young, but it was his time. Hey, at least there will come a day when we'll meet him and get to spend eternity with one great, sweet, funny man.

  • @InDeAskY1

    Amen!!!

  • @1mrtime Let's never forget Jim Varney!! One of the greatest, one of the most decent, moralistic men ever!!!!

  • @InDeAskY1

Absolutely!!! Such a rare thing today.

  • @1mrtime So rare, in fact, I can't find a man even half as cool as Varney. You should check out Vern's suicide note on blog spot. It's not a cruel note. It's actually kind of touching. It's a cool kind of tribute to Ernest.

  • @InDeAskY1

I will have to take a look at it. God Bless you, and thanks so much for your posts on here. It's great to see and know a fellow Varney fan.

  • @1mrtime Good 2 meet another Varney fan as well. I've been a fan 4 almost 26 years. Though, after his death, I couldn't watch his movies 4 a while. It was 2 hard. I'm putting 2gether a kind of memory box of his stuff. I'm almost done. I recently found "It's the Ernest P. Worrell Book of Knawledge" written by Varney as Ernest. I laughed through the entire 96 pages. Not 1 foul word or smutty comment. I've never laughed so hard while reading a book in my life. True genius. God Bless U.
