  • are there any more thrice songs like this one?

  • @daveskate123 watch?v=o7gM0mdqMUM - Thrice, The Next Day. There are no lyrics, but it's really nice.

  • Romantic tip. Play this song for your girlfriend.

  • 3 dislikes ): but Im pretty sure they missed the button :D

  • Just found out this song is based off of a movie called "The Boy Who Could Fly". The main heroine's name is Amelia (Milly) Michaelson. This song follows the plot line.

  • @Adicted2Anime777 i found that out recently also! i'm still waiting to watch the movie :] it looks pretty darn cute.

  • this song makes me cry all the time

  • Hmm... you know I just listened to a song from Michael Hedges - "Because It's There"... I wonder if he had any influence on the air portion Alchemy Index... anybody hear what I am talking about??

  • @ChrisMaybe86 Because there's billions of songs out there in the world, this song will sound close to at least a few. It's not hard to find a song that sounds just like another song. This is also because of the fact that music never dies. Once a song is written and distributed, it exists forever.

  • Oh how i ADORE this band.

  • this song makes me wish id have someone to be with lots, my boys mama and my first love, been fucking round with my head, lies to much

  • cant stop listening

  • Haha, The one person I put all my entire being into. Is ignoring me. A few weeks ago he told me this is the song he listened that reminded him of me, when we didn't talk for a year.

Fuck. What do you do when your everything leaves you with nothing?

  • @adxndbdfie Were you two married? If not, don't worry too much about it.

  • @SwaffyX Might aswell have been. Shit sucks hey? haha

  • @adxndbdfie you rise up and live your own life, for yourself.

  • @adxndbdfie Breakdown and go crazy, hate everyone and everything. Find hope in something, someone else and allow them or it to pull you through.

  • @Iamthekingofbeans Just fuck things up? :)

  • @adxndbdfie When you have nothing, eventually anything becomes something.. then it's not all that bad :)

  • @adxndbdfie Or try finding hope in Jesus. He's the only person you'll ever find who won't let you down.

  • @loner309 Did you really just tell me to go find Jesus or

  • @adxndbdfie Yes.

  • @adxndbdfie Yes.

  • @loner309 Jesus is dead, sorry to break it to you.

  • @loner309 Jesus isn't alive anymore, so he can't help anyone.

  • The Alchemy Index is one of those albums I want my children and grand children to listen to.

  • Child of dust: Thrice, also amazingly powerful and emotional

  • Anyone else seem to go into a trance when they listen to this? My favorite song ever <3

  • This song makes me feel i want to find my Milly..

  • @iEattFood milly michaelson is a fictional character from the movie "the boy who could fly".

  • reminds me of hurt by nine inch nails

  • when i do its just for you. - fall with me into the air.

  • This and Silver Wings are probably my favourite songs of The Alchemy Index. Thrice continue to make beautiful meaningful music after all these years. If you like this song, you should check out Fragile Bones(Feels Like Home) by Ali Murray, so dreamy and sad and beautiful.

  • sooooo good i love thrice

  • one of my favorite bands <3

  • 2 people tried to keep Fred Savage from going around the block but instead slipped on marbles, ran into a truck, got a face full of piss, and completely failed.

  • I have replayed this song over and over for the past 2 hours

  • Seriously, who in their right mind could dislike this song? I ask you, who? FFFFFUUUUU!

  • and i love you most of all,

    <3 miss you jordan.

hold on tight and dont let go, i know you wont ever let me fall

  • two people don't understand what true grace in music means

  • <3perfection.

  • I write sci-fi/action/love stories (no, not about vampires, or werewoves,) and this fits so perfectly!! I love Thrice, especially Music Box and Come all You Weary, but this is a new fav! Should the book become a movie, it'll be on the soundtrack <3

  • I'm hardcore athiest, but I still love Thrice for their music.

My favorite song of theirs <3

  • Like you didn't have it coming with comments like that. Probably done by someone who LIKES the song just to spite you for caring about likes and dislikes.

By the way, it wasn't me.

  • Wow. Really? Who's the one jackass with the nerve to dislike?

  • Zero dislikes.

That says something for a song that has been up for two years, and viewed by over 70,000 people.

  • @KingOfGone noone in their right mind would dislike this. Its pure genius..

  • @KingOfGone Every time someone mentions that video having no dislikes, kids hit the dislike button. Psychology, man. Psychology!

  • i miss her.

  • here we go...hold on tight and dont let go

  • goosebumps man, goosebumps. . .

  • This song is based on the movie "The Boy Who Could Fly."

And I'm going to watch the movie now, just because of this song.

  • They're geniuses. Thrice is gonna always be the band I'll never get bored of or ever stop listening to.

  • well when i first meet my bf he would always play this song , i didn't know why though , so i asked him why, and he said because every time i hear this song i think of you :) THIS SONG IS BEAUTIFUL!!! AND AMAZING :) !!!!

  • my brother got me into em but i had only heard the artist in the ambulance at the time but when he brought home the vinyl of the alchemy index (best vinyl album ever) we listened to it aaaand i was hooked

  • how did you guys hear about this band?

  • @sowiseloc went on a snowboarding trip...grabbed my friend's brother's ipod by mistake...identity crisis was the first playlist. put it on at the top of the mountain and was a fan by the bottom

  • @sowiseloc My brother listened to them since he was 12ish, i was like 10 years old at the time, and for like 6 straight years, my brother tried to get me to listen to them, and i refused. I would listen to them when he would play them, but i wouldn't really listen to it.

A few years after that, i ended up listening, and image of the invisible caught my attention, artist in the ambulance kept it, and surprisingly digital sea, and the sky is falling made me fall in love!

  • @sowiseloc they showed up on my Pandora.

  • @sowiseloc me and my bro heard "red sky" and were in aw of its lyrical and emotional power

  • @sowiseloc me and my bro heard "red sky" and were in aw of its lyrical and emotional power

  • @sowiseloc I listened to identity crisis and T&C and I thought I should just listen to more thrice songs.

  • The acoustic version is perfect =P

  • NO DISLIKE FTW :D

  • fuck.

  • This song is absolutely amazing! The Boy Who Could Fly movie has been one of my most favorite movies of all time. And I think it is just AMAZING how a song was written about 20 years after the movie premiered! I don't think that happens very often. But the song and lyrics are just beautiful! Thrice did a great job writing it! Their live version is absolutely amazing too! I just love it!

  • So weird I was listen to this song on my iPod thinking about how amazing these lyrics are and my mom was all like whataya listenin to? cuz theyre so awesome i cant even think

they take the breathe straight from my lungs

    absolutely amazing

  • I truly think this is the best song ever written.

  • I didn't really like this song at first, and I was glued to the Water index for quite a while :). But this song has really grown on me, it's almost hypnotizing...

  • Listen to Circa survives new song: Frozen creek, then this song.

The ending of that song leads perfectly in to this song.

  • @Shadowist99 Weird, it does!

  • This song gets more amazing every time I hear it.

  • love this, beautiful.

  • Beautiful song.

  • this song is so sad and yet im in love with it

  • Oh gawd i accidentally hit the thumbs down. I'm sorry. I agree with you completely.

  • @0kGemmyBeanOk this song, atlantic, red sky, and in exile are my favorite thrice songs. their lyrics and mood set just really grab you and never let go.

  • @0kGemmyBeanOk i completely agree

  • The song is about the 1986 film "The Boy Who Could Fly".

    Plot:

"After the suicide of her terminally-ill father, fourteen year old Amelia 'Milly' Michaelson loses interest in almost everything around her. But before long, she becomes friends with Eric Gibb, a young autistic neighbor who had lost both of his parents to a plane crash. Together, Eric and Milly find ways to cope with the loss and the pain, as they escape to far away places."

Truly a flawless interpretation of the movie!

  • i cant figure out the meaning of the song...he loves this girl...and she loves him back? let me know what the meaning is please lmao.

  • I miss you joshua.

  • i miss you too, baby, i miss you too.

  • LMFAO YESSS... thats cute:)

  • so peace... with this music.. :o

  • My brother is autistic, just like Eric in "the boy who could fly" and i dont know why, but this song is not only beautiful, but it speaks... Its real, and its beyond words...

  • EREY120, The movie is "The boy who could fly"

  • ambulence: what movie is it based on?

  • Watching the film this is based on right now actually, taking a break to check my email. Awesome movie, amazing song.

  • well... the new album is in four parts. the heavier of this quad spread album is fire. if your looking for heavy that would be a good place to start. however, regarding your comment against the new material? each to his own. but, keep in mind only true artist can strip the music to bones and still create a masterpiece. nothing more is needed but talent, and the alchemy index is a testament to this surmise. listen with new ears, you"ll find it more unique and detailed than most.

  • i loved thrice when they put out the artist in the ambulance album and i am having trouble getting into the alchemy albums im not sure if i like theyre new style. what are their best new songs?

  • uh. you're about 3 albums behind. Listen to vheissu (red sky/earth will shake if youre REALLY lame and need to listen to singles to get into bands instead of appreciating all albums entirely) water/earth/air from the alchemy indices, and download Beggars off of iTunes, their newsest album.

  • i listen to vheissu illusion of safety and identity crisis i like those albums much more than what ive heard on the new ones, and thanks for being constructive in your comment reply

  • Dude you really need to relax. Not everyone can be as knowledgable and awesome and completely sweet and rad as you are. Chill out. Elitist.

  • You might like Firebreather from (you guessed it) the Fire album. I love the old Thrice as well as the newer stuff they've put out. My fiance and I saw them (and met them) at Warped Tour this summer, and they put on a really good show and sound really great live. Have you heard their Beggars album?

  • what warped tour show were you at?I met thrice at one too haha basically i can die a happy man now i met my musical heroes for the past 6 years haha

  • here we go hold on tight an dont let go i won't ever let u fall i love that parts

  • This is one of those beautiful songs it seems everyone can relate to. Then when you hear everyone elses stories they are all so different and unique. <3

  • love this song. even if you don't fly, you can relate to the feelings that are expressed in this song.

  • fucking brilliant!! (and i HATED thrice b4 this)

  • ¬¬ how do you dare to say that ¬¬...xD

  • aaah what a soothing song.

  • I grew up next door to Dustin Kensrue from Thrice. They always had a big screen TV on in their garage where they would be watching something. Their whole garage wall was nothing but VHS tapes. Doesn't surprise me they'd do songs about movies.

  • Wow, insider info! hah

  • That's genuinely interesting. rare for a youtube comment.

  • Thats awesome... just out of curiousity what movie is this song about?

  • "The Boy Who Could Fly", from 1986.

  • thank you

  • i just watched it because of your comment, i loved it before, and i made up my own story trying to justify its odd lyrics, but now that i know its based of this movie, and that i've watched it, makes plenty of sense.

  • @CeruleanFilms That's awesome that you grew up next door to him.

Did you ever imagine him making it as far as he did back then?

  • @CeruleanFilms

    that's pretty awesome.

They just did a feature for ITV at our school on Thrice (I figure you went there, too, if you lived next door to Dustin) and so yeah, I got to meet him. Pretty cool, actually, since it was when I was starting to get into Thrice
