Just found out this song is based off of a movie called "The Boy Who Could Fly". The main heroine's name is Amelia (Milly) Michaelson. This song follows the plot line.
Hmm... you know I just listened to a song from Michael Hedges - "Because It's There"... I wonder if he had any influence on the air portion Alchemy Index... anybody hear what I am talking about??
@ChrisMaybe86 Because there's billions of songs out there in the world, this song will sound close to at least a few. It's not hard to find a song that sounds just like another song. This is also because of the fact that music never dies. Once a song is written and distributed, it exists forever.
Haha, The one person I put all my entire being into. Is ignoring me. A few weeks ago he told me this is the song he listened that reminded him of me, when we didn't talk for a year.
Fuck. What do you do when your everything leaves you with nothing?
This and Silver Wings are probably my favourite songs of The Alchemy Index. Thrice continue to make beautiful meaningful music after all these years. If you like this song, you should check out Fragile Bones(Feels Like Home) by Ali Murray, so dreamy and sad and beautiful.
2 people tried to keep Fred Savage from going around the block but instead slipped on marbles, ran into a truck, got a face full of piss, and completely failed.
I write sci-fi/action/love stories (no, not about vampires, or werewoves,) and this fits so perfectly!! I love Thrice, especially Music Box and Come all You Weary, but this is a new fav! Should the book become a movie, it'll be on the soundtrack <3
Like you didn't have it coming with comments like that. Probably done by someone who LIKES the song just to spite you for caring about likes and dislikes.
well when i first meet my bf he would always play this song , i didn't know why though , so i asked him why, and he said because every time i hear this song i think of you :) THIS SONG IS BEAUTIFUL!!! AND AMAZING :) !!!!
my brother got me into em but i had only heard the artist in the ambulance at the time but when he brought home the vinyl of the alchemy index (best vinyl album ever) we listened to it aaaand i was hooked
@sowiseloc went on a snowboarding trip...grabbed my friend's brother's ipod by mistake...identity crisis was the first playlist. put it on at the top of the mountain and was a fan by the bottom
@sowiseloc My brother listened to them since he was 12ish, i was like 10 years old at the time, and for like 6 straight years, my brother tried to get me to listen to them, and i refused. I would listen to them when he would play them, but i wouldn't really listen to it.
A few years after that, i ended up listening, and image of the invisible caught my attention, artist in the ambulance kept it, and surprisingly digital sea, and the sky is falling made me fall in love!
This song is absolutely amazing! The Boy Who Could Fly movie has been one of my most favorite movies of all time. And I think it is just AMAZING how a song was written about 20 years after the movie premiered! I don't think that happens very often. But the song and lyrics are just beautiful! Thrice did a great job writing it! Their live version is absolutely amazing too! I just love it!
So weird I was listen to this song on my iPod thinking about how amazing these lyrics are and my mom was all like whataya listenin to? Im like a song for milly michealson by thrice she's like hey thats the girl's name on the boy who could fly I was like WTF so I watched the movie and I was like hell to the nah that is awesome
I didn't really like this song at first, and I was glued to the Water index for quite a while :). But this song has really grown on me, it's almost hypnotizing...
I heard this song in the cinema, while waiting for the movie previews to start. I had to use tracker ID on my phone to figure out what is was and who performed it. I am in love with this song :)
I really think this is my favourite Thrice song ever, I can completly loose myself in this music it's so powerful and emotional. It's a work of art lets face it! Absolutly beautiful <33
@0kGemmyBeanOk this song, atlantic, red sky, and in exile are my favorite thrice songs. their lyrics and mood set just really grab you and never let go.
The song is about the 1986 film "The Boy Who Could Fly".
Plot:
"After the suicide of her terminally-ill father, fourteen year old Amelia 'Milly' Michaelson loses interest in almost everything around her. But before long, she becomes friends with Eric Gibb, a young autistic neighbor who had lost both of his parents to a plane crash. Together, Eric and Milly find ways to cope with the loss and the pain, as they escape to far away places."
My brother is autistic, just like Eric in "the boy who could fly" and i dont know why, but this song is not only beautiful, but it speaks... Its real, and its beyond words...
well... the new album is in four parts. the heavier of this quad spread album is fire. if your looking for heavy that would be a good place to start. however, regarding your comment against the new material? each to his own. but, keep in mind only true artist can strip the music to bones and still create a masterpiece. nothing more is needed but talent, and the alchemy index is a testament to this surmise. listen with new ears, you"ll find it more unique and detailed than most.
i loved thrice when they put out the artist in the ambulance album and i am having trouble getting into the alchemy albums im not sure if i like theyre new style. what are their best new songs?
