there is no "real" ave maria. there are different versions. Beyonce's version is wonderfully written and performed. The Ave Maria songs are suppose to be sung in an opera type melody. I listened to AKeys and IMO that was just terrible. Beyonce has improved 100% vocally & she can sing any song. AKey's not so much. AKeys is more R&B but Bey is more universal. NO competiton: Both of these two are the origional QUEENS OF R&B... they're both AMAZING in different ways! My personal fave is Beyonce and no one can deny she's FANTASTIC! Alicia has a GREAT voice but thats it really (no offence) Beyonce can own a stage and perform better than most artists... either way these are REAL artists better than those 'wannabes' like Rihanna

there is no "real" ave maria. there are different versions. Beyonce's version is wonderfully written and performed. The Ave Maria songs are suppose to be sung in an opera type melody. I listened to AKeys and IMO that was just terrible. Beyonce has improved 100% vocally & she can sing any song. AKey's not so much. AKeys is more R&B but Bey is more universal. She proved she can tackle any song & make it her own. I invite u to listen to her rendition of Barbara Streisand song - beautifully done

However, they are markedly different rnb singers.
Beyonce is the Queen of contemporary r&b.
Alicia Keys is the Queen of r&b/soul.
At the grammy's, their r&b albums get nominated into different categories because they are completely different styles of r&b - the ones I mentioned above (contemporary rnb and rnb/soul).
Both are incredible live performers, so it's just a matter of who you enjoy more.

Both are great. But the KEY thing you have to look at, what make's a huge difference is that Alicia plays the PIANO while singing, extremely hard to accomplish. Alicia always looks good without looking raunchy, she has a look of class in no matter what she wears. She never air brushes any of her photo's, the only celebrity I know of that doesn't.
