Nice marching. I'm from Llano, Texas and I'm the solo trumpet this year. Junior and only been to waco once for area but we didn't make past finals that year though.
This would be a nice concert piece, but something more fast-paced/ rock and roll would be better for marching. But your guys' actual marching was great.

yes but when judges see bands marching down the street, they tend to give advantages to the bigger bands. Its not fair, but in most parades i go to, the judges do that.

mardin09, I know what you what you are talking about, it sucks b/c every UIL Region Contest was at this Stadium, plus one or two football games a year, and the Central Texas Marching Contest, was there too. But I was from Belton, we did not go to that contest b/c we always won there. Brings up memorys of high school.

That would be 1980 to 1984.Yes,I too,was a teenage,high school pimp.(Bridgeman uniforms with knee length red coats,blue pants,and a huge blue cowboy hat with a white sash.Drum majors had the same uniform in all white,so they kinda looked like Colonel Sanders.The band was bigger at that time,and last went to state UIL marching contest in 1981-82 (I think we got ~12th place out of 34 schools).Could never understand why the band could not repeat that kind of success,and kinda soured a few years.

First off Fantasy on a Japanese Folk song is a great song, but marching it seems a like a little too much. It is supposed to express the story through the music not a marching performance. Also spacing is really bad. Tone was all over the place, but still a decent show. Needs work though.

This is probably a 4A/ or 5A band, most in texas are this size or larger, the bands marhing before us at UIL this year are both 300. I have been reading comments that people only have marching bands of 30 or smaller...ouch lol, but bands marching only 64 have made it to state even in texas.
I didn't like the music too much. The band played it well though. I play in the RHHS band, trombone this year, tenor sax last year, and I guess my opinion is based on how we always play heavy stuff. Anyway, it's pretty good, except for some spacings.

you are a dumb piece of shit. you are probably the guy that could not keep his block straight or something. this is not easy... especially with all the differant sets along with playing the music... blues music has its place but it sucks compaired to the kickass stuff that can be done with a good marching band. fuck off asshole and let them have their fun.
some really good things about the show and band and also some bad. Nice tuba sound, nice warm woodwinds,shapes are decent though spacing sucks sometimes and music doesn't grip you and the dude talking in the microphone is gay. after the first movement all i would be thinkin is whether i want a hot god or nachos.
the band was really good.I play trumpet for uchs band and although we don't play orchestrated music cause our director thinks its to common they still had a great sound.The flute solo was awesome.Keep up the good work.

Oh my God orchestrated music sucks so bad! especially in marching bands, they just do whatever their director tells them to without question, they shouldnt really be called "bands" they dont work together at all and their music is so simple... id like to see one of their trumpet players try to play against a good blues trumpet player their same age, or one of their drummers go against john bonham, they couldnt do it because they never try to do anything for themselves..
ahhh clarinets get in tune!!!!! well it sounds like only 1/3 of the band is playing really you have a big band us the whole band great drill though. 3/5 stars from me

This is the first time ive heard a flute solo in marching band. Last year we were a 2A band. and we missed best in class by one point to locust fork high school. i play in jemison alabama. i got to start marching a year early. in 7th grade! We played disneys "When YOu Wish Upon a Star", Stars and Stripes Forever, Swinging on a star by frank sinatra, and stars fell on alabama in the keys of (Bb) F,F,Bb,and C/F.
I must say, I like the drill but not the music, From where I am from we like more of the songs that we actually know, not this stuff. This year my band did Music from Queen and Metallica, and it was a good show. What did you guys make here? We got a I on ours, but then they judges couldnt really see our feet all that well, (Fog was covering the Feild) but the drill is nice, Good tone quality, Good Intonation.
Hahaha, Queen and Metallica, ok, I like those bands, but that must have been sooooo easy. I've seen bands do that kinda show (one with Queen another with Aerosmith) and although sounded neat, were incredibly easy and not complex at all. What class is your school in?
lakewood lancer marching band. well imo we are better. (we do a much more flashy show including highsetep marching and dances) dont do competitions judges dont like our style. but if your looking for a fun show were the best since OU (ohio university) band
Interesting! I'll have to check your band out, however, the question is, since you say that your band is better than this one, Are you better than Nishihara Marchig Band. And if you are really curious, check out Kakazu Marching Band, And if you want to be totally blown away, try Ishigaki marching band
(sorry for belated comment) im not saying were better in everyone's eyes. if you like these guys you wont like us much. we use no grounded percussion, we march (not this walking stuff) and we dance. (you have to see it to understand)

Nice tuba sound, nice warm woodwinds,shapes are decent though spacing sucks sometimes and music doesn't grip you and the dude talking in the microphone is gay. after the first movement all i would be thinkin is whether i want a hot god or nachos.

the band was really good.I play trumpet for uchs band and although we don't play orchestrated music cause our director thinks its to common they still had a great sound.The flute solo was awesome.Keep up the good work.

And people call the bastards musicians....i wish some high school bands would at least get together with just a small group of maybe 10 good musicians including an electric violin and guitar player and a drum SET player and make some good music...not this worn out shit theyve been playing for years....

Oh my God orchestrated music sucks so bad! especially in marching bands, they just do whatever their director tells them to without question, they shouldnt really be called "bands" they dont work together at all and their music is so simple... id like to see one of their trumpet players try to play against a good blues trumpet player their same age, or one of their drummers go against john bonham, they couldnt do it because they never try to do anything for themselves..

ahhh clarinets get in tune!!!!! well it sounds like only 1/3 of the band is playing really you have a big band us the whole band great drill though. 3/5 stars from me

This is the first time ive heard a flute solo in marching band. Last year we were a 2A band. and we missed best in class by one point to locust fork high school. i play in jemison alabama. i got to start marching a year early. in 7th grade! We played disneys "When YOu Wish Upon a Star", Stars and Stripes Forever, Swinging on a star by frank sinatra, and stars fell on alabama in the keys of (Bb) F,F,Bb,and C/F.

I must say, I like the drill but not the music, From where I am from we like more of the songs that we actually know, not this stuff. This year my band did Music from Queen and Metallica, and it was a good show. What did you guys make here? We got a I on ours, but then they judges couldnt really see our feet all that well, (Fog was covering the Feild) but the drill is nice, Good tone quality, Good Intonation.

Hahaha, Queen and Metallica, ok, I like those bands, but that must have been sooooo easy. I've seen bands do that kinda show (one with Queen another with Aerosmith) and although sounded neat, were incredibly easy and not complex at all. What class is your school in?

lakewood lancer marching band. well imo we are better. (we do a much more flashy show including highsetep marching and dances) dont do competitions judges dont like our style. but if your looking for a fun show were the best since OU (ohio university) band

Interesting! I'll have to check your band out, however, the question is, since you say that your band is better than this one, Are you better than Nishihara Marchig Band. And if you are really curious, check out Kakazu Marching Band, And if you want to be totally blown away, try Ishigaki marching band

(sorry for belated comment) im not saying were better in everyone's eyes. if you like these guys you wont like us much. we use no grounded percussion, we march (not this walking stuff) and we dance. (you have to see it to understand)
