  • Msi 790FX-GD70 is a good board

  • QUEEEE

  • i had to lol at video they present amd board and in the back lcd tv they have and intel wallpaper hehehe and also that red oc switch i would find it very hard to switch on and off with an crosffire setup especially if the gpu fan its on the middle u might lose a finger nail there :))))

  • yo papa i need a lil help here i just upgrade my mb its a msi how the hell do i boot to install windows i try f8 and it dose not work help thanks

  • i going get this motherboard good it is firecross;) at buy it cost only $125

  • sadly people would cry if there was no ide or floppy.

    =/

  • I'm a budget gamer, I've bought this, I recommend this highly for all of you.

  • How much does this thing cost ?... Mid range means different for all ppl

  • @foxwright It's way overpriced. You could buy a 890x or 890fx and get better price. This is only crossfire at 1-16x...2-8x/8x. It's got dated audio and MSI has not done much with the bios for AM3 yet it will run it but multpliers are screwed up. Why not get the 870 from asrock or A890fx for the same price. MSI is really junk at there price. The miltitary does not buy MSI at all.

  • fuck the military

  • @utubesuxalotofazz yeah aren't they the only ones with AMD 12 cores

  • ok i've just bought the MSI 790GX-G70 from amazon

does that board have intergrated graphics too?

  • @yungstar49 if you mean the 790FX-GD70 it doesn't have onboard graphics, its an overclockers board designed to do CrossFireX so its intended for high end use.

  • When I say 2000MHz I mean 2000MHz effective, ref clock of around 1000.

  • Nice Video!

Want to earn over 200$ using Youtube?

    youtubemoney101(dot)blogspot(dot)com

  • i wish i could have one!

  • Fast frecuency memory? JOJOJO....AMD memory driver sucks...only 1333 can handle....really dissapointed

  • @carlos06060606 Not really, there are many boards that can take up to 2000MHz memory, unless working a bios is too complex for you... rofl.

  • @RyanADillon WTF man....what about bios are you talking about? It's not estable....any way...think what you wish

  • @carlos06060606 Rofl, yes it is. I am 100% stable running my memory just under 2000MHz. As stock the most you will get is 1333, but enter your bios and look in the memory settings. There will be one about RAM frequency, just expand that and select a faster one. As long as you have good memory there are NO issues running 2000MHz memory on lots of the newer AM3 boards. Please read some reviews online or at least read manufacturer specs.

  • i have msi board

  • whoa... missleading... he says dual 16x PCIe lanes... not true at all... the GX chipset is 8x/8x not 16x/16x... you need the FX chipset for dual 16x, not GX... just thought i'd clear this up :P

  • i want to get this motherboard so i can do sli/crossfire.

but i want to get the propus athlon 620. will it work for the board. or am i going have to spend extra 50 for phenom? pls answer. in 2 weeks from this post i will be getting it.

  • go to the msi website and there should be a compatibility for mem and cpus

  • the 2 X16 slots seem really far from each other. I dont quite understand whats hybrid crossfire? whats the diff between this and normal crossfire?

  • Comment removed

  • lol its not a RAP video :D

  • hey i need help... i installed a 2gb ram stick 1333mhz on all 4 ram slots which adds up to 8gb... and my computer sometimes crash... any help?

  • you might have a bad powersupply...

  • its ocz brand

  • and its 700 watts

  • how does it crash? like BSOD or just reboots?

  • @Huw444444444 reboots... i read somewhere that amd processors wont support ddr3 1333mhz and higher on dual ram channel?... true?

  • Ok, rebooting is usually that it is unstable, overheating or a shut down virus. Try running prime95 with HWmonitor running to see if your temps get above 60c. This will test for RAM and CPU instablilty. I dont think it is uncompatable ram because your system would not post.

    Hope this helps :)

  • @Huw444444444 oh ok... ill try it out... thx

  • not true- im at 2000mhz right now

  • @tallandme13 ohh ok... hey can u help me out?.. my dvd driver... it only detects game cds and the new 1s... dow2 bfbc2 etc... i tried to install dow1 but my cd driver doesnt seem to detect anything... can u help?

  • It might be a format that your dvd driver cant detect, you may need a new one. Or by the off chance that cd has something wrong with it. Try it in another pc

  • alright so I have this board...just bought a new phillips 32 inch HDTV LCD...I went to hook up the HDMI from my computer to my HDMI on my phillips and nothing....does anyone know whats going on here? someone please help. I have an NVIDIA GTS 250 in the board right now but the gts 250 does not have an HDMI out

  • CAN THIS STILL RUN MY ATHLON 64 x2?

Thank you, I'm trying to gradually upgrade.

  • Athlon is AM3 socket dude , so thus it works , read the description and learn ur hardware before asking question that is already answered!

  • @HarpyTV:

MSI 790 CPU Type: Phenom II X4 / Phenom II X3

(Supports AMD CPU with 140W power requirement)

    AM3 motherboard .Sorry d00d :)

  • will a AMD ATHLON 2 x4 620 work on this ? im guessing yes since its an AM3 socket proc but im not sure...

  • can i run a amd phenom ii x4 620 with 8ddr3 1600mhz ram

  • if the amd cpu is am3... yes

  • thx

  • Yes

  • Will i be able to put a AM2+ Cpu in it

  • no because it is a AMD3 socket

  • no because AM2+ processors dont have thee ddr3 memory controller

  • Whats the main difference's between this and the g55

  • what kind of ram? ddr3 and what pc type? pc6400, something like that.

  • i used this board ver nice motherboard, ez to oc with best result.

  • Crazy how they consider FDD and IDE legacy. Very nice motherboard though.

  • the phenom II 965 is out and at 140W

  • Nice this Motherboard

  • MSI makes me hard.

  • same

  • all motherboards have it, (if you mean southbridge) and it is used to control the pci and crap

  • Sata will always have alot of issues, i like the IDE and the Floppy, i might get an ide controller card, might use the sata only for storage..,

So if I want good graphics with this mobo, what's a good graphics card to get, well other than the MSI Radeon HD 3450 Video Card, will the Radeon HD 4870 X2 work for this as well?

  • ya it will its what im using check out my vids

  • HD3450 is for Hybrid Crossfire only, its not worth running on its own with this chipset. Of course it will run well with a HD4870x2, just use the dummy plug on second PCI-E slot so you'll get x16 speed from the main PCI-E slot.

But you don't need this board or this chipset for that, might want to look at the 790X/FX or even 770 chipset. 790GX is really targeted towards people that want to use IGP to save up for Crossfire later (dual cards).

  • yes

  • this mobo rocks, i got it with phenom x3 be, dont need to oc, fast enough with default setting.

  • dude ur an idiot the board doesnt supprot 939

  • Comment removed

  • "If your just using ide your just lost" hahahaahah!

  • Yeah, what a crock of shit. A lot of us have a huge investment in a *LOT* of IDE harddrives. One IDE port don't cut it. Sata isn't all its cracked up to be, esp. the connectors which often come unplugged.

  • guys which is better? Gateway FX4200-EBF01A Phenom X4 9750(2.4GHz) 8GB DDR2 1TB ATI Radeon HD 3850 Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit - Retail

  • HI guys im building my own computer no budget but i want it for multimedia movies, songs high quality audio and graphics for movies....

Plus i dont Overclock not on my previous computer

  • "If you're using IDE, you're just lost"

-Haha. :-D But unfortunately, a lot of DVDRWs are still IDE!

I don't think ATI's hybrid graphics works as described here. Your dedicated graphics will NOT switch off (and over to the integrated) when using 2D, unless you're using 1) It in a laptop with the feature (PowerXpress) or 2) nVidia's hybrid power.

ATI's hybrid power combines the power of both integrated and dedicated for higher performance (and only works with low end cards, I think).

  • Got this with a x3 720BE, running the 20% OC on the board giving 1600Mhz on the ram. At 3.6MHZ on the cpu with only a x15 multiplier on the cpu. Had it running at 3.9 no problem, but don't need it. Fantastic value with the chip and lightening fast in gaming.

  • about the EZ OC Switch, I thought the manual said if you leave both switchess on you get the Default Speed.

  • on this MSI motherboard that he's showing in this video, if you get this motherboard look real close at the cpu socket, on it, it says Foxconn, lol.

  • because foxconn makes different components for motherboards like my onboard audio connectors, that piece is made by foxconn as well as the net adapter ports.

  • I knew that,but it still funny.

  • Suuurree ya did.. xD

  • Well Renzeko why don't you buy the board and you can see for yourself you BELLEND

  • What are you on about?

    What's a bellend? o.O

  • I don't whether to just upgrade some of my parts or upgrade all of them?

These are the specs of my current PC:

AMD Phenom 9500 Quad Core 2.2 Ghz CPU

    3 GB RAM

    500 GB Hard Drive

ATi Radeon HD 2400 XT Graphics Card

    Windows Vista 32 Bit

Yeah, this is all I know so far. Just tell me whether I should just upgrade some parts or upgrade everything

  • graphics card

  • if you upgrade to this mobo you will have to get a AMD AM3 cpu for it, your Phenom 9500 Quad won't plug in to it.

  • Holy FUCK! dual-channel DDR3 1600/1333/1066/800MHz memory up to 16GB DAM!!!!!!

  • god damn i wanted to buy a 64bit computer... i9 might as well build my own using this board!!

  • nice mobo. but floppy doesnt need to go. floppy saved me a lot of trouble a couple months ago. if i didnt have it i dont know what i would have done. floppy still gets used. it needs to stay.

  • u ever tried USB flash key to work as FDD?

  • nope. but my pc does have a floppy drive built in. and it has saved me a lot of trouble i love it :D

  • can i use a AMD Phenom X4 Quad Core 9950 here right?

  • MSI only produces shit

  • my ass produces shit

  • HAHAHA pwnd xD

  • WOW! And its only 129€!

  • Ok, so I use IDE for my optical drives that I bought three years ago. It's a DVD writer, 20x and DVD-ROM. Is it really that big a deal if I am using IDE in a gaming rig? I read there is no performance increase in switching to SATA for optical drives so is it really a big deal?

Reason I mention is because Albert basically vomits as the thought of IDE...

  • Looks like a great board, I've been waiting for something like this.

I really wanna see AMD's answer to i7 though......

  • Never happens. Too high-tech for AMD, to reach the i7.

  • power hungry processors, 140Watts?

  • AMD..... meh!!

  • amd'zzz the shit

  • I agree. It's shit. >:)

  • Core i7 ftw, :)

  • MSI SUCK

  • MSI is a nice company, they just need to improve their customer support

  • I HAS IDE HARD DRIVE

  • i have this motherboard for about 6 months now this review is long over due haha

  • floppy hater

  • 1:02

    hoooooo.... tons and tons.. xDDDDD

  • AMD needs some SLI boards

  • They do... the 780a or 780a, and so on...

  • they already have lots

  • send me a link for one that's AM3 and supports DDR-3

  • finally no more leveno crap

  • Lenovo *

  • finally albert

  • thats because their stock was like $1.40 thats why they doubled XD what a joke

  • not bad!

  • ugh, shit brown pcb..

  • better than my p5b-e's puke yellow pcb :\

  • YAY MY NERDS ARE BACK. 5 stars.

  • yeah haven't seen this guy in a while.

  • About the Floppy: MSIs BIOS Flashing tool needs a Floppy drive to backup the former BIOS.

Otherwise, it won't let you flash the BIOS

  • they overdid this motherboard by like 7000%, AMD sux, noone will buy it.

  • AMD is way better than intel, in price-performance ratio

  • Lol, let's see how Nvidia's X86 CPU will perform ;)

  • lols

  • Care to elaborate which it sucks? Fanboy

  • G70 pwns this one.

  • duh its a higher number LULULULULULULULULUL

  • 0:45

    great for work stations ?

you dont need 2 PCI-E slots for a work station

, you can get a 780 chipset what would do the job fine

  • still its good for workstations...

  • He pointed at the VRM HS when he was talking about the NB :P I have the AM2+ version of this board, it's really good.

  • i fond myself needing to use a floppy drive. i need to reformat an extremely old compaq armada laptop. the only os i could use at the moment was window 95 i got off of the piratebay, cause the ram was so low. the reason why i did this is so my 4year old cousin can gave something that wouldn't matter if it broke

  • Where are the girls? :'(

  • dead

  • Hopefully gone.

  • I don't understand why everone doesn't like them...

  • MSI make ok boards my last PC had one and that lasted 10 years and prolly still works if I was ever wanting to use it again I still like to have a floppy drive it is handy for some things I have but only really for me SNES gizmo.

  • Just wanted to say, the cables to go guy is cool.

  • i don't think this mb would do AMD PII X4 920 & 940.

  • Nice motherboard.

  • albert some people still use ide there not like some of us where we can get sata, thats why these board makers leave the ide and floppy connector on there cuz there are some people that still use it

  • I agree. Most people use Sata, me included, but I'm not just going to throw all my old hard drives out. I still use my 80GB IDE's for storage and what not.

  • yea but if you could afford a 150-350$ mobo....then obviously you could afford sata.. I think IDE should be put on OEM motherboards only.. not in a gaming or enthusiast motherboards

  • video quality is so shitty.

  • consider others without HD.

  • wow ugly board. brown pcb with pink and blue memory slots. not to mention 1 dark blue pci-e and 1 light blue pci-e slot. i think msi couldn't choose a color scheme for this board

  • hes bored with this board

  • 26mhz equivalent lol

  • 150$ woooow? I might have to buy this. aaaaaawmahgawd.

  • It's gorgeous!

Always wanted to build my own rig...

  • I'd rather just stick with my Gigabyte GA EP43-UD3L Mobo. It does me well.

  • wow this looks like an awesome Mobo!!!

  • fail

  • im gettin this

  • ur not first dickhead i am

  • no i'm first lol
