What a great song. It's like Tommy James & the Shondells, Evie Sands, and The Raspberries all rolled into one. When I was a kid, I saw these guys live, and I remember thinking how good their vocals were.
too bad beserkley records were such wimps...they had some of the best late 70's sounds on that label. most people never knew the rubes existed till encountering one of their two LPs in the bargain bin at the record store.
i can't really fall in love with this one, though. it just doesn't hit the same nerve as HARD TO GET or LIGHTNING LOVE AFFAIR.
These guys knew how to write a song about losing a girl or lost love. Check out Memories and Emerald Eyes. It's killing me but I can't stop listening. Thanks for the post.

beserkley wasnt big at paying payola to get their bands airplay
they had tons on local stations in the sf bay area...but thats about it
rubinoos were one of the best power pop bands of the 70s
