Thank you so much for these videos. I do not believe that Anna was really Anastasia and that much of this story is fiction. But it is lush, lavish, and(for me) thoroughly enjoyable. Sad that this type of show is no longer produced. Amy Irving was perfectly cast and a joy to watch.

I saw this movie years ago, it paints a pretty fairytale of what happened with the story of anna anderson...but the reality was very different.

Read John Klier and Helen Mingay's "The Quest for Anastasia" to get a real account of Anna's personality and the interactions between her and the people shown in this film.

Much as I enjoy watching this (I love you, Rex Harrison!), this utter garbage. All the Romanovs have been found. Anderson's claims were refuted by DNA tests. Anderson was a crazed parasite, nothing less. RIP to the REAL Anastasia! (Whose memory is once again twisted by this sick freak's claims)

I believe it was her as well! There were too many commonalities to discount; thought hey tried. The Romanov family had too much to lose if they acknowledged her existence. They also had lots of money...and we all know how much money can buy when mixed with politics! The fact that she wanted NO money, only her name, is the last needed straw to convince me that she was indeed Anastasia Romanov!!

You can't fake someone else's handwriting, have the same ear in every point, and have bullet wounds all over the body. The woman was legit even with memory lost. If, you had money, you can pay people to lie to the media if, you don't want the truth to be known and in Anna's case, that's exactly what happened. The family was to ashamed to accept her after, they've seen how she looked. Tubercolosis made her lose a lot of weight and she looked different. but, believe me Anna was the real deal.

@NBuddie she could not even describe the inside of Tsarso Selo. Anastasia lived there for most of her life. Most of the stuff she rattled off was told her by other Romanov's, which she tried to pass off as her own recollection. She got caught out doing this several times. DNA doesn't lie. All the Imperial Family have been found and are accounted for. This woman was from Poland and had no DNA link to the Russian Royal family what-so-ever.

This lady was the real deal. The family had enough money to hide the truth and say she was an imposter because, she looked different from what they remebered. But, the fact remains that there were too many things about her that were true compared to the real Anatasia. Besides, the matching of the handwriting, the ear, and the eyes, she remembered things that no one else could have known unless, they've actly been there.

Plus, each victim was asigned to be killed by at least one handpicked executioner. I wonder if there was tampering with blood evidence. Anna seemed to go through a lot to proove she was Anastasia and who on earth would go through all that much with the chance of being found out to be a fraud? I somehow believe that it is possible that the Royals did not want the truth be known if she was indeed Anastasia that they would turn out one of their own and treat her so harshly. It would bring shame in thier way of thinking to do such a thing. Was she really the best imposter ever?

There is more evidence saying Nastya died. Why even care why how or when now? It's the saddest tragedy ever. Letting go the glamorous palaces, bayoned to death, striped with not a peice of respect, buried and found decades later, still just to be considered "another spoiled royal". Not even Russians beleive in her obvious death. And how would you act if you knew this is what would happed to you? Nastas didn't. Imagine the disapointment of captivity. Good flick! Too bad so many disbelieved her, whether or not she was Anastasia. she had memories and marks and traits unique to Anastasia. Of course there's no actual hard evidence - all who were there with Anastasia were killed, the palace plundered, and she grew up (if she lived) and became a woman, with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (who wouldn't??). Most of the relatives/workers hadn't seen her in many years, and events change a person deeply.

They didn't believe her for good reasons. She couldn't speak Russian, for one thing. According to DNA tests, Anna Anderson was Polish, not Russian. None of the people who knew Princess Anastacia during her lifetime backed Anderson's claims.

Whoever she really was, she wasn't Anastacia Romanov.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can cause certain things...it really messes with the mind. I would go so far as to say a person can forget and/or choose not to speak in their own mother tongue (and Anastasia was known to speak many). My own Russian daughter has PTSD, and for a long time she would not/could not speak Russian. She does now, though.
