the Batcave was a Glamrock revival club , the Gothic style and music started in Germany . the batcave was hosted by Ollie Wisdom of Specimen who thrashed out T Rex and Sweet numbers all night..Urban misfits Alien Sex Fiend played the club a few times and hardly got an applaude let alone a beer ..

Very true precinct. Unfortunately once the movement received the label of "Goth" it did change it and not always for the better. It seems all of a sudden people started thinking they had to live up to the label by being all dark and depressing and going on about gothic art and literature, when the original scene had nothing to do with that and was about the music and just having a lot of fun with tongue firmly planted in cheek.
