I am American and really stubborn when it comes to these british vs. america things, but I have enough balls to say that the SAS are the original modern special forces, they are practically the creators of the term "black ops" (and no not the videogame). They started in WW2 in Africa and have been the best ever since. Without the SAS, there would be no israeli commandos, Delta Force, Navy SEALs or KGB. Anyone who argues against that fact is quite ignorant
@LaderaAirsoft Same with me, and I completly agree with you, but what is annoyying is that there are arguments, I mean we are on the SAME side but whatever.
Whoa...alot of hate here! Let's start on a clean slate shall we? What all special forces selection have in common is that the test is designed to make you fail. Those who fail in rejection make it through to one of the most privileged, skillful, honorable, and resilient fighters in any nations armed forces. The Special Forces in Great Britain and the US are among those few nations with highly skilled warriors. For the British, the SAS have been around for some time. And they are here to stay!
@clutchSlipper The yanks come running to the Brits? I wouldn't say that, the US just prefers to have British political support. From what I've seen the Brits are making no more headway in Afghanistan than the US forces. So it's not as though the British Army is in someway superior.
@GeorgeAD54 You don't train the SEALs, if anything they cross train. THe SEALs are just as experienced and probably more so, if you take into account the units time spent in combat.
Delat is also just as good if not better than the SAS. Just because SAS members have written the most books about how good they are doesn't make them the best. I find people who think that hilarious.
all you people arguing about who is superior there aint no superior in war there is only dead or alive i know this because i served my country i dont go around bragging this fact i wish sometimes i could forget about my service in iraq and afghanistan
i respect the SAS, but people should really stop saying they are the best. ive never seen anywhere in the history books where SAS have fought SEALs, Delta Force, Army SF, Marine Force Recon, or Air Force PJs. until they do, shut up and just admire the hard work these gentlemen do
SBS selection/training is longer than SAS. SBS are more secret as there are no good videos on them. Their training is exactly the same except for the locations and the extra specialist training and they also do HALO parachute jumps just like SAS. It must suck to be a terrorist, stand no chance against the British special forces.
@Steve06669 INtersting how the terrorists have killed plenty of SAS/SBS troopers. THe regiments are in a crisis at the moment as they are way understrength due to those being killed and permanently maimed by the " terrorists". They are super human dummy.
@Jospehporta No shit sherlock. They are more super human than you in terms of fitness and in training and they are deployed in the very worst hotspots in small teams so no wonder some SADLY get killed. They are not in crysis however thats fucking laughable. Are you even in the military? Lol
@Steve06669 Read numerous articles on how the MoD has stated that they are low on numbers due to exceptionally heavy casualties over the last 10 years. They get whacked all the time. Simple facts, you can't seem to accept.
@Jospehporta Many SAS have been made REDUNDANT not been killed off. They are looking for new recruits and will soon have their numbers made again meaning there is no shortage crysis. lol. In the last 10 years more regular none special forces soldiers have been maimed and killed than any SF commando serving in Afghanistan. You are talking bollocks mate.
@Jospehporta They aren't superhuman and do get killed/maimed although you need to look at the context. The UK budget for our tier 1 SF is around 3 billion UK £. Yes, that's 3 billion for around 400 soldiers including the SBS. There's only been a few SAS soldiers killed over the years but when one gets killed, it's allot of investment. They are hard to replace simply because we want the best 400 or so soldiers within her Majestys Armed forces. Not 1000's of so called SF like spetsnaz
@clutchSlipper If you actually dig deeper into that budget, it actually includes far more than the 400 soldiers. The budget actually includes funding for thousands of support personnel as well as their supporting equipment etc etc. If you look at what is spent directly on an SAS soldier, it is only a tiny part of the 3 billion.
Hell the SAS is being downsized with the res tof the military, England simply doesn't have the money.
UK is not stupid mate. We are cutting to get out of debt asap. This is why we still enjoy a tripple A credit rating whilst the likes of the US, France & others have had theirs cut. The economy has to come first. It's no good pretending that it's just the UK who is struggling. Obama is bankrupting you guys. I think the UK does very well on it's defence budget. We may have to fight another war in the falklands whilst helping out NATO in Libya/Adfghanistna etc. We do it on our own too
@clutchSlipper Also after a quick google from the Telegraph.
"There are currently around 2,000 members of the British Special Forces which has an estimated budget of £2bn, although the exact figure is classified."
Not sure where you got your 3 billion for 400 soldiers figure.
@Jospehporta "There are currently around 2,000 members of the British Special Forces which has an estimated budget of £2bn, although the exact figure is classified."
You have tier 1 units (SAS/SBS) who consist of approx 400 soldiers. You then have the back up which consists of The Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR), Special Forces Support Group (SFSG. 18 (UKSF) Signals Regimnt etc
@clutchSlipper Anyways I just rail against people when they see this or that special forces unit is the best. They don't have any idea and a real SF soldier would laugh at them. The SAS may have been the first sort of modern unit, but that certainly doesn't make it the best.
Contrary to popular belief of the ignorant, the SAS cross trains with other Western Units, it DOESN'T train them.
Yeh What's 'best' one day may not be the case a year later. That's going to come down to the individual. People are never clear what they mean by the word 'best' either. Better trained? Better experience? etc. It's an impossible argument. UK does very well on a defence budget which is one 12th of the US's tho. Falklands (no allies - all on our own), Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq, soon to be Iran etc. UK is the only nation that is even in a situation where it may have to fight on it's own
@Jospehporta The USA can learn allot from the UK dude. USA would never fight a war on it's own (never has done bar that Mexican war). UK has no such fears of going it alone tho. We did it in 1982 and it's looking like we may have to do it again. Obama is even against us there but her Majesty has already told him where o go :) No USAF or 'NATO stabalisation force'. Just us on our own whilst we assist with Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Liba etc
@clutchSlipper Hmm I would say Panama and Grenada were both wars fought by America alone. You don't seem to realize just how much support the US gave Britain during the Falklands, it was American spy satellites pinpointing and monitoring Argentinian units and deployments for the British.
There wasn't much to stand in the way of Britain in that conflict.
Unfortunately Britain couldn't mount the same type of offensive again, the capabilities just aren't there anymore.
@Jospehpor Panama and Grenada were not real wars. Real war involve Air, land and sea battles. They cannot be compared to the Falklands m8. The falklands consisted of bitter ground/bayonet fighting along with Naval and air combat. The Brits had to sail over 7000 miles away from their homeland and take on a dug in enemy with smaller numbers. We had but 20 harriers (8 on one carrier and 12 on another). It was quite an achievement. Not a single Harrier was shot down in Air to air combat
@clutchSlipper Well to be fair, most Argentinian soldiers were conscripts and didn't have much fight in them anyway. Once again it was a 1st world military fighting a 3rd world force. The outcome was never in doubt.
@Jospehport Yeah the only pro Argie soldiers were at Tumbledown altho our boys had to yomp over 50 miles across the islands after the ship carrying the choppers was hit. That was a pretty mean feat - yomping 50 miles and then initiating & winning the fight against a dug in/numerically superior force. It's certainly something that's not been repeated. Lt colonel H Jones was awarded the VC for stomring a MG post. He dided and this is unheard of for an officer of such high ranking mate
@Jospehporta Never heard of ''Argentinian'' I think you ment ''Argentine soldiers''. Didn't have much fight in them? WTF! Lol. Your clearly uneducated in what happened there. Go on then genius, tell me all about the battle of Goosegreen and Fort Stanley, Mount Longdon ETC and what the SAS did aswell? You do know alot of soldiers came home with bad post-traumatic-stress-disorders + it is very freezing cold out there all the time and trench warfare. The worst kind of war imaginable! Talk shit mate
@Steve06669 LIke I said minor battles, big deal. You were fighting conscripts who didn't want to fight in the first place. Just look at the ass kicking you're getting in Afghanistan against farmers.
@Jospehporta More Taliban have been killed than the actual coalition forces FACT. Even if we are not winning were still killing more of them who cares.
@clutchSlipper The USA provided the United Kingdom with military equipment ranging from submarine detectors to the latest missiles.France provided dissimilar aircraft training so Harrier pilots could train against the French aircraft used by Argentina.[33] French and British intelligence also worked to prevent Argentina from obtaining more Exocets on the international market. Chile gave support to Britain in the form of Intelligence about Argentine military and radar early warning - wiki
Provide evidence for this else it's just claims (I won't hold my breath as I know what the US gave us - a few stingers/sidewinders at inflated prices & aviation fuel). You did offfer us a carrier altho we declined. This is not the same as having US ground/air/naval forces helping us as we do in all of your wars. What about Argentina? Just name us one Argentine system that was used. Their entire military consisted of US, French and Brit made kit like the Mk8 bomb and T42 destroyer
What we tend to do is call the others bluff. Take the Falklands today for example...we only have one T45 destroyer, one SSN, 4 Eurofighters and around 1000 troops there but this is enough to deter the entire South American continent. Our Airforce is amongst the best (USAF being no.1), our Navy will soon be back to 2nd but our Army is no.1. Even the top US general has said this and I can post the source if you want me to. UK packs a serious punch dude which is why we are feared
@clutchSlipper Your Navy will never be second ever again, hell you have to scrap one of your pocket super carriers. Not sure how you rank the RAF as #1, plenty of evidence to the contrary. Also wtf are you talking about deterring the South American content, most countries in South America couldn't give 2 shits about the Falklands. You aren't deterring anybody.
@Jospehporta British Soldiers are of a better quality than Americans the best way of looking at it is the best units and soldiers of the UK and US forces are probably equal however the worst american soldier is far worst than a Brit.
You do have an obviously bigger army and far more funds to equip men kudos however I don't like the idea you say we cant handle the Taliban its no long kill count its about equipping the Afghans to handle matters themselves
@GeneralCormy Feeling a little inferior I see. Britain just isn't very important anymore. But hey keep clinging to your past glories, at least in your mind anyway.
@Jospehpo We haven't scrapped one of the QE class carriers? BAE are building them as we speak. What we will do is use one as reserve. As for the Falklands and South America not caring...yeah ofc mate...that explains why they were crying to the UN on Friday...telling the world how the UK has capabilities far superior to the South Americas :) All our countries are in financial difficulty. The only difference is that we are clever enough to see it hence we cut. US no mre tripple A baby
@clutchSlipper Yes, they are talking of scrapping one of the QE carriers, you simply can't afford them. Not to mention they'd be sitting ducks against any real adversary. Of course you've already gone hat in hand to the French to help pay for them :)
Funny the credit rating hasn't affected America in the slightest. Investment dollars are still poring in, whilst England is seen as stagnant.
'hell you have to scrap one of your pocket super carriers'
Now you are saying 'they are talking of scrapping one of the QE carriers'
Can you spot the error you made?
Please get your facts correct before posting. The UK hasn't scrapped a carrier and both are being built as we speak. Like I said, one will be a reserve carrier.
Mate, who you trying to kid? America is falling apart. Here's the Detroit ghetto:
@clutchSlipper LMAO a reserve carrier, might as well be floating scrap for all the good it's going to do. Detroit.......seems like Liverpool or any number of English cities. Your attempted mockery is quite amusing.
@Jospehporta It's good to have a reserve from the RN's perspective. The RN will have but 2 carriers. Putting 2 at sea is dumb coz they could be lost and then bang goes your Naval air power. Any future operations will almost always be in the context of NATO so one carrier at sea is all we need really. I wasn't attempting to mock you over Detroit? i was just being real. The entire West has issues bruv. Don't hide behind planet Hollywood and live in denial. It won't get fixed that way
@Jospehporta Every country has economic problems!, what I want to know is why America is one of only afew contries still investing vast amounts of money on advancing the military teck? whats the bloody point?!? America's in dedt for $15 Trillion!!!!!!!!!!!
@MrCNocK you asked why the US keeps spending money on the military. Not to mention they keep a modicum of stability around the world, especially their navy.
@Jospehpo To understand why South America are so interested in the Falklands, you need to understand the importance of Antarctica. That region is rich in bio/natural resources. It has millions of tons of high grade coal, enough fish to feed the planet and has 70% of the worlds fresh drinking water. Assets are meaningless without knowing how to use them correctly. The US coudn't even beat a bunch of peasnats with straw hats & bicycles lulz. US will never achieve what we have achieved
@clutchSlipper What have you achieved? Last I saw the British Empire was something out of the history books. Britain is becoming more and more insignificant. Just simple facts. The British have no claim to Antarctica and could never enforce one even if they wanted to.
@Jospehporta 54 commonwealth countries, and 16 dependencies and the american central bank being run by the brits. But yes i guess we have nothing any more.
@TubeTheUnknown LMAO 54 Commonwealth countries most don't even consider themselves as part of the British Empire. As I said what empire :) Britain has no power over them. So you're saying the US Fed is run by Britain, now that's funny. Care to make up any more bullshit. Britain can't even run its own banks.
@Jospehporta Believing Britain has no power of them is like believing what the fuck your dumb congress tells you, but hey, if you don't believe the american central bank is run by britain thats cool, i guess the stereotypical ignorant american comes into play here, but keep mocking Britain buddy, ignorance is bliss, you have British roots in you, who colonized America and drove the natives out? Oh shit yeah, they were British.
@technerd1994 Really? Please post just one American military vid where there's Brits trolling mate. You just pulled that comment out of your ass lol. All of the bitching is always on the Brit military vids.
@Jospehporta The British Empire is out of the history books, mainly because it was an important event with in history as it changed the face of the world, may be not for the better, but it brough new inivations in technology, agriculture, Industry, military eqipment, the modern banking system, and lets not forget it gave birth to a country called America? :)
Don't use wiki as a source when talking about military/intel matters mate. Wiki is good for most things but it can be edited by almost anyone so it's useless as a source when talking about sensitive military matters. Your argument would be like me saying that the UK provided the USA with Harriers, armour for your tanks (Chobham), the EW systems in virtually all of your aircraft as well as the entire worlds (BAE make these systems for all US jets bar the F-22) therefore you needed us
You also sent over American mercanries to fight alongside the Argies. There was a massive inventigation in to it during the 90's and 2 para were accused of war crimes. Basically, the Argies and Americans were shooting at us from range (sniping). When 2 Para got on top of them, the Argies ran and the Americans threw down their weapons and pretended to be tourists. Many Americans and Argies were bayonetted to death as 2 para had lost some of their m8's. Ask for source. it's no secret
@Jospehporta What you need to keep in mind is that the UK has been around allot longer than the USA (even tho Hollywood may like to pretend otherwise). We have been figting since the dark ages so it's no big deal that we have had more wars/have more experience. Every empire/power has it's time. Ours is now up but these powers/empires are judged in hindsight. The jury is still out for the USA at the moment. You guys have allot to do if you want to get to Empire status
@Jospehporta you an idiot the task force had to set off fast to the islands there where no time to train with the french and we wooped your arse even though you had the advantage of being fortified and being closer.
Just to be clear, I'm not saying the US can't fight on it's own. I'm saying that it doesn't. UK has backed the US in all of these wars (we are backing you with Iran as i type) as well as doing Libya and we still don't expect any help in the Falklands. If I were u guys, I'd analyze your real allies and think very carefully before trying to put them down all of the time. It's this big headed cowboy/almost childish attitude that's loosing you friends. Not u personally but in general
@Jospehporta and we have the capabilities to fight them again, we have a millitary base there and euro fighters, you know them pretty little planes that took on the F-22 in a training excersize and won? and we are more than capable we have troops on the ground all over the falklands to ensure the argies and panama and grenada?
@TheGunner1324 You have the wrong way round, it was the F-22's which dominated the Typhoon. In fact the F-22 is superior in every way to the Typhoon. The only references to the Typhoon ever coming close to shooting down an F-22 is rumors at best.
Hmm you can barely hold your own against the Taliban, I doubt you'd fare too well. Hey please keep spouting your patriotic bullshit, it's funny.
@Jospehporta I'll give you a good example of what I mean mate...
The UK is able to deter the entire South America's from attacking the Falklands with just one destroyer, one SSN, 4 Eurofigthers, Rapier systems and around 1000 troops. That's pretty epic if you ask me. If you go back through history, even under the Empire, the UK always cut it fine and used the minimum amount of assets as possible because they are expensive. This backfired on us in 1939. Numbers alone do not scare us
@clutchSlipper You are talking about the Falklands now? To be fair no side thinks it's worth going to war over right now. If Argentina really thought it was in their national interests to go to war over the Falklands, the British forces in the area wouldn't be much of a deterrent.
Of course they did get an ass kicking in 1983 as well.
Going back through history, the British maintained their empire through divide and conquer tactics as well as proxy forces. That is not the case today.
@Jospehporta But I do agree..there are some over proud Brits who think the SAS are gods altho I have to say...the trolling comes mainly from angry Yanks on our vids bud. You'll note that all of the arguing is always on Brit vids. Go to the American vids...barely a Brit in sight.
@Jospehporta The SAS are probably the best trained commandos in the world. Your just another egotistic yank not worthy of being in ANY elite force. Your not even a soldier let alone in the special forces. You cant run 40 miles with over 100 pounds of equipmen or even attempt 10 good pullups. I bet your sat behind your pc smoking weed. US SF compared to SAS are not even halfway there, even Royal Marines have tougher and longer training than any US SF unit FACT. No offence. Lol. (YOUR SHIT)
@Jospehporta PS the British SAS are the very 1st special forces unit in the entire world who were formed by Captain Stirling of the Scots guards during WWII in North Africa to go behind enemy lines and destroy Nazi aircraft and vehicles. They disbanded and 8 years later the SAS were formed again and also the SBS were formed. Even in the 1950s they were STILL the very 1st special forces units until they trained US soldiers to have their own special forces units. I'm proud to be British :-)
@Jospehporta The SAS are posted to some of the worst areas with in world! of course there going to take casualties!! lets not forget it was the mind of David Sterling who effectivly wrote the book on how to enter a room, every special force has modeled its self on the SAS, Germany, Israel, France and lets not forget America! virtually every country has used technics in the 'Killing House', Room breaching, survival and intellagence gathering! FACT.
Funny how every one argues whos is the best. Every Sepcial Forces Unit cross trains with each other. Green Barets, SEALs, S.A.S, KSK it does not matter they are all elite and few and I can't even begin to fathom what they have been through in the selections which is just the beginning of it all.
Martial Law, Joel 2-9 They shall run to and fro in the city;they shall Climb up upon the wall they shall climb up upon the houses;they shall enter in at the window like a thief.) This is how amerikkkan citizens will be round up like sheeps and put to death in a Fema detention center.Wich is your local Stadium,Malls,Wharehouse,Schools,Golf center, and many more.
COD MW runined the SAS now people think they are like that when they really arnt also 5 SAS v 200+ hostiles SAS have low ground and practical no cover, SAS win without support, that is skill.
At the top no disrespect ment to sensible americans
We all grew up with well documented and well celebrated stories about the SAS, SEALS,Green berets and so on...But there are a group unknown by the majority of the world, they are the topic of many legends and stories, their name strikes fear into enemy that has incountered them, they are truely forged in combat. Ladies and gentlemen I give you the Reconnaissance Commando AKA recces all the way from South-Africa.
SEALs has its strong in all terrain. They go train in the snow, water, air, ground just like the S.A.. But both SEALs n S.A.S r both good t what they do.
@invizz0ninja And the S.A.S don't train in all terrain? In the S.A.S, Special Air Service ( the Air part doesn't mean the field of their training, it's the method of delivery ). Silly head.
soneNS77.... Most people who leave messages on YouTube talk absolute shite, you are a prime example. If you haven't got anything constructive to say save your breath and don't f*?king bother.
SAS ordinary models from the fashion runways. They fight only against men armed with spears and arrows. Serbs in Bosnia ruined SAS and surviving members SAS escape from the battlefield and left dead comrades. SAS = Simply Are Shittypants
Australian SAS, they make strip nude with your kit beside you, and the get as much female personnel as they can. SAS training is hard shit. SEALs have nothing on this.
@Freepepsi42 How so? The SEALs and SAS are two completely different jobs. While SEALs are better in the water SAS are better in other kinds of warfare. So if you say their better then ask yourself what are they better at...
Thats the thing about special forces. They specialise or how you write it. Like you say. Seal are nuts in water. S.A.S Are good all arounders but probaly has their strong points too
I think i'd rather be a member of the SBS if i had a choice. I know it's not really by design its just how it works out but now days the SAS comes over as rather hollywoodish. Im not saying theyre not the best at what they do, just in my eyes, the SBS seems like a quieter , more elite regiment as you're not hearing about them or reading about them every time you open a paper even though as sure as im tyoping this, theyre doing something or rather in some shithole.
love how the non serving youtube idiots belittle others when all armed forces respect each other. Maybe you should enlist and see how life really is keyboard warrior
@DreamGIRLis1 S.A.S take the top of being the best..and america best is below the S.A.S...so if the S.A.S stands for suck ass soldiers..tell me something what does that make america?
@weeguymo agree totally with what you saying i failed the s.a.s selection process. It was awful anyone who says this isnt the best unit in the world are idiots.
@5ofa i do still respect all the sf's in the world but to me s.a.s still take the top of all..me i have always wanted to join the s.a.s but i know i don't have wat it take's i done millitary training but s.a.s training lets just say i don't want to die yet plus you don't get to hear wat the s.a.s really get up to ...people can brag over the internet about it but is a whole lot diffrent in person...thanks for the reply bro
@DreamGIRLis1 yes your correct. Thats why between the SAS (UK) SASR (Australia) and NZSASR (New Zealand) We are the best trained soldiors in the world. Your Marines, Delta Force, Green Berrets, Navy SEALS and Rangers and the rest of your special forces are trained by and are using tactics that the SAS made. your just a dodgy imitation of us. think before critcising others.
@Melchersson with special forces you can't really make that judgement. all special forces have their uses. the seals are more adept at certain things than the sas and visa versa. the rangers are better at certain things than the marine force recon and visa versa. the green beret are better at certain things than the french foreign legions and visa versa. the list goes on and on. the only people that would be stupid enough to call one special forces group weak or pusssies are youtube trolls.
@MrHavaniceday Honestly, anyone that says one is better than another has no idea and zero military experience. The training is simaler, most sogs work together , record means fuck all as with that comes opportunity . I think its safe to say that they are ALL fucking amazing and any kind of competition would come down to the individual, not the unit or regiment.
@WhenWeWereKings100 Yeah, im pretty fucking concerned that if pissed off some random stranger that obviously couldnt find his own arse with a fucking road map. I was 9 years in the army, 22 months in Astan and while i never served as special forces myself being motorised infantry we sure as shit taxid those fuckers around. If that pisses you off, champ, i dont much care.
SPECIAL FORCES AND 'CONVENTIONAL' MILITARY WILL PLAY A ROLE, BUT IT WILL BE DISSIPATED BY ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY. WHAT A LONG WAY WE'VE COME. WE STARTED OUT WITH STICKS, THEN AXES AND SWORDS, THEN ARROWS, THEN GUNS, THEN SUBS/PLANES, NOW WE'RE IN A WORLD WHERE SOMEONE IN A CONTROL ROOM CAN CONTROL A PREDATOR DRONE (UNMANNED) AND CAUSE SERIOUS DESTRUCTION
THE NEXT REAL WAR WILL NOT BE FOUGHT THE WAY PREVIOUS REAL WARS HAVE BEEN FOUGHT. IT WILL BE WITH NUKES, SATELLITE-CO
I HATE TO BURST ALL YOUR BUBBLES, BUT THESE KINDS OF MILITARY UNITS ARE GOING TO PLAY A MUCH DIMINISHED ROLE IN THE FUTURE.
IF WE WANT TO CONTINUE SPENDING BILLIONS ON 'CONFLICTS' IN THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES, THEN I'M WRONG. BUT SOONER OR LATER (SOONER WILL PROBABLY BE THE CASE), WE'RE GUNNA COME TO THE REALIZATION THAT WE DON'T HAVE THE MONEY AND PATIENCE TO COMMIT OURSELVES TO, FOR EXAMPLE, ANOTHER VIETNAM OR IRAQ
THAT BEING THE CASE, THE NEXT REAL MAJOR WAR WILL NOT BE FOUGHT WITH SPECIAL FOR
I have been told by good sources who are back in the Para unit that they chose to try SAS selection which only comes around twice a year but they failed due to recurring injuries. I think it is a much better system now that you can choose to try selection for yourself which makes a much more effective soldier if you pass because the individual make that decision on his own. Can you imagine how many people have passed out in the Army due to beastings and being driven by "someone else"???

SBS selection/training is longer than SAS. SBS are more secret as there are no good videos on them. Their training is exactly the same except for the locations and the extra specialist training and they also do HALO parachute jumps just like SAS. It must suck to be a terrorist, stand no chance against the British special forces.

@Steve06669 INtersting how the terrorists have killed plenty of SAS/SBS troopers. THe regiments are in a crisis at the moment as they are way understrength due to those being killed and permanently maimed by the " terrorists". They are super human dummy.
Jospehporta 1 month ago
@Jospehporta No shit sherlock. They are more super human than you in terms of fitness and in training and they are deployed in the very worst hotspots in small teams so no wonder some SADLY get killed. They are not in crysis however thats fucking laughable. Are you even in the military? Lol
Steve06669 1 month ago
@Steve06669 Read numerous articles on how the MoD has stated that they are low on numbers due to exceptionally heavy casualties over the last 10 years. They get whacked all the time. Simple facts, you can't seem to accept.
Jospehporta 1 month ago
@Jospehporta Many SAS have been made REDUNDANT not been killed off. They are looking for new recruits and will soon have their numbers made again meaning there is no shortage crysis. lol. In the last 10 years more regular none special forces soldiers have been maimed and killed than any SF commando serving in Afghanistan. You are talking bollocks mate.
Steve06669 4 weeks ago
@Steve06669 Nah mate, they've been killed off or permanently maimed. Simple facts. They aren't superhuman.
Jospehporta 4 weeks ago
@Jospehporta They aren't superhuman and do get killed/maimed although you need to look at the context. The UK budget for our tier 1 SF is around 3 billion UK £. Yes, that's 3 billion for around 400 soldiers including the SBS. There's only been a few SAS soldiers killed over the years but when one gets killed, it's allot of investment. They are hard to replace simply because we want the best 400 or so soldiers within her Majestys Armed forces. Not 1000's of so called SF like spetsnaz
clutchSlipper 4 weeks ago
@clutchSlipper If you actually dig deeper into that budget, it actually includes far more than the 400 soldiers. The budget actually includes funding for thousands of support personnel as well as their supporting equipment etc etc. If you look at what is spent directly on an SAS soldier, it is only a tiny part of the 3 billion.
Hell the SAS is being downsized with the res tof the military, England simply doesn't have the money.
Jospehporta 4 weeks ago
UK is not stupid mate. We are cutting to get out of debt asap. This is why we still enjoy a tripple A credit rating whilst the likes of the US, France & others have had theirs cut. The economy has to come first. It's no good pretending that it's just the UK who is struggling. Obama is bankrupting you guys. I think the UK does very well on it's defence budget. We may have to fight another war in the falklands whilst helping out NATO in Libya/Adfghanistna etc. We do it on our own too
clutchSlipper 4 weeks ago
@clutchSlipper Also after a quick google from the Telegraph.
"There are currently around 2,000 members of the British Special Forces which has an estimated budget of £2bn, although the exact figure is classified."
Not sure where you got your 3 billion for 400 soldiers figure.
Jospehporta 4 weeks ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@Jospehporta "There are currently around 2,000 members of the British Special Forces which has an estimated budget of £2bn, although the exact figure is classified."
You have tier 1 units (SAS/SBS) who consist of approx 400 soldiers. You then have the back up which consists of The Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR), Special Forces Support Group (SFSG. 18 (UKSF) Signals Regimnt etc
UK does not have 2000 sas soldiers lolz
Crap hat SF like SN have that number
clutchSlipper 4 weeks ago
@clutchSlipper Anyways I just rail against people when they see this or that special forces unit is the best. They don't have any idea and a real SF soldier would laugh at them. The SAS may have been the first sort of modern unit, but that certainly doesn't make it the best.
Contrary to popular belief of the ignorant, the SAS cross trains with other Western Units, it DOESN'T train them.
Jospehporta 4 weeks ago
Yeh What's 'best' one day may not be the case a year later. That's going to come down to the individual. People are never clear what they mean by the word 'best' either. Better trained? Better experience? etc. It's an impossible argument. UK does very well on a defence budget which is one 12th of the US's tho. Falklands (no allies - all on our own), Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq, soon to be Iran etc. UK is the only nation that is even in a situation where it may have to fight on it's own
clutchSlipper 4 weeks ago
@Jospehporta The USA can learn allot from the UK dude. USA would never fight a war on it's own (never has done bar that Mexican war). UK has no such fears of going it alone tho. We did it in 1982 and it's looking like we may have to do it again. Obama is even against us there but her Majesty has already told him where o go :) No USAF or 'NATO stabalisation force'. Just us on our own whilst we assist with Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Liba etc
UK is for real
clutchSlipper 4 weeks ago
@clutchSlipper Hmm I would say Panama and Grenada were both wars fought by America alone. You don't seem to realize just how much support the US gave Britain during the Falklands, it was American spy satellites pinpointing and monitoring Argentinian units and deployments for the British.
There wasn't much to stand in the way of Britain in that conflict.
Unfortunately Britain couldn't mount the same type of offensive again, the capabilities just aren't there anymore.
Jospehporta 4 weeks ago
@Jospehpor Panama and Grenada were not real wars. Real war involve Air, land and sea battles. They cannot be compared to the Falklands m8. The falklands consisted of bitter ground/bayonet fighting along with Naval and air combat. The Brits had to sail over 7000 miles away from their homeland and take on a dug in enemy with smaller numbers. We had but 20 harriers (8 on one carrier and 12 on another). It was quite an achievement. Not a single Harrier was shot down in Air to air combat
clutchSlipper 4 weeks ago
@clutchSlipper Well to be fair, most Argentinian soldiers were conscripts and didn't have much fight in them anyway. Once again it was a 1st world military fighting a 3rd world force. The outcome was never in doubt.
Jospehporta 4 weeks ago
@Jospehport Yeah the only pro Argie soldiers were at Tumbledown altho our boys had to yomp over 50 miles across the islands after the ship carrying the choppers was hit. That was a pretty mean feat - yomping 50 miles and then initiating & winning the fight against a dug in/numerically superior force. It's certainly something that's not been repeated. Lt colonel H Jones was awarded the VC for stomring a MG post. He dided and this is unheard of for an officer of such high ranking mate
clutchSlipper 4 weeks ago
@Jospehporta Never heard of ''Argentinian'' I think you ment ''Argentine soldiers''. Didn't have much fight in them? WTF! Lol. Your clearly uneducated in what happened there. Go on then genius, tell me all about the battle of Goosegreen and Fort Stanley, Mount Longdon ETC and what the SAS did aswell? You do know alot of soldiers came home with bad post-traumatic-stress-disorders + it is very freezing cold out there all the time and trench warfare. The worst kind of war imaginable! Talk shit mate
Steve06669 3 weeks ago
@Steve06669 LIke I said minor battles, big deal. You were fighting conscripts who didn't want to fight in the first place. Just look at the ass kicking you're getting in Afghanistan against farmers.
Jospehporta 3 weeks ago
@Jospehporta More Taliban have been killed than the actual coalition forces FACT. Even if we are not winning were still killing more of them who cares.
Steve06669 3 weeks ago
@clutchSlipper The USA provided the United Kingdom with military equipment ranging from submarine detectors to the latest missiles.France provided dissimilar aircraft training so Harrier pilots could train against the French aircraft used by Argentina.[33] French and British intelligence also worked to prevent Argentina from obtaining more Exocets on the international market. Chile gave support to Britain in the form of Intelligence about Argentine military and radar early warning - wiki
Jospehporta 4 weeks ago
Provide evidence for this else it's just claims (I won't hold my breath as I know what the US gave us - a few stingers/sidewinders at inflated prices & aviation fuel). You did offfer us a carrier altho we declined. This is not the same as having US ground/air/naval forces helping us as we do in all of your wars. What about Argentina? Just name us one Argentine system that was used. Their entire military consisted of US, French and Brit made kit like the Mk8 bomb and T42 destroyer
clutchSlipper 4 weeks ago
What we tend to do is call the others bluff. Take the Falklands today for example...we only have one T45 destroyer, one SSN, 4 Eurofighters and around 1000 troops there but this is enough to deter the entire South American continent. Our Airforce is amongst the best (USAF being no.1), our Navy will soon be back to 2nd but our Army is no.1. Even the top US general has said this and I can post the source if you want me to. UK packs a serious punch dude which is why we are feared
clutchSlipper 4 weeks ago
@clutchSlipper Your Navy will never be second ever again, hell you have to scrap one of your pocket super carriers. Not sure how you rank the RAF as #1, plenty of evidence to the contrary. Also wtf are you talking about deterring the South American content, most countries in South America couldn't give 2 shits about the Falklands. You aren't deterring anybody.
Jospehporta 3 weeks ago
@Jospehporta British Soldiers are of a better quality than Americans the best way of looking at it is the best units and soldiers of the UK and US forces are probably equal however the worst american soldier is far worst than a Brit.
You do have an obviously bigger army and far more funds to equip men kudos however I don't like the idea you say we cant handle the Taliban its no long kill count its about equipping the Afghans to handle matters themselves

The only difference is that we are clever enough to see it hence we cut. US no mre tripple A baby
clutchSlipper 3 weeks ago
@clutchSlipper Yes, they are talking of scrapping one of the QE carriers, you simply can't afford them. Not to mention they'd be sitting ducks against any real adversary. Of course you've already gone hat in hand to the French to help pay for them :)
Funny the credit rating hasn't affected America in the slightest. Investment dollars are still poring in, whilst England is seen as stagnant.

Jospehporta 3 weeks ago
@Jospehporta It's good to have a reserve from the RN's perspective. The RN will have but 2 carriers. Putting 2 at sea is dumb coz they could be lost and then bang goes your Naval air power. Any future operations will almost always be in the context of NATO so one carrier at sea is all we need really. I wasn't attempting to mock you over Detroit? i was just being real.

Don't use wiki as a source when talking about military/intel matters mate. Wiki is good for most things but it can be edited by almost anyone so it's useless as a source when talking about sensitive military matters. Your argument would be like me saying that the UK provided the USA with Harriers, armour for your tanks (Chobham), the EW systems in virtually all of your aircraft as well as the entire worlds (BAE make these systems for all US jets bar the F-22) therefore you needed us
clutchSlipper 4 weeks ago
You also sent over American mercanries to fight alongside the Argies. There was a massive inventigation in to it during the 90's and 2 para were accused of war crimes. Basically, the Argies and Americans were shooting at us from range (sniping). When 2 Para got on top of them, the Argies ran and the Americans threw down their weapons and pretended to be tourists. Many Americans and Argies were bayonetted to death as 2 para had lost some of their m8's. Ask for source. it's no secret
clutchSlipper 4 weeks ago
@clutchSlipper Sorry can't find any sources on American mercenaries. It wouldn't be the first war crimes Britain's committed.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying the US can't fight on it's own. I'm saying that it doesn't. If I were u guys, I'd analyze your real allies and think very carefully before trying to put them down all of the time. It's this big headed cowboy/almost childish attitude that's loosing you friends. Not u personally but in general
clutchSlipper 4 weeks ago
@Jospehporta and we have the capabilities to fight them again, we have a millitary base there and euro fighters, you know them pretty little planes that took on the F-22 in a training excersize and won? and we are more than capable we have troops on the ground all over the falklands to ensure the argies and panama and grenada?
haha so pathetic.
TheGunner1324 3 weeks ago
@TheGunner1324 You have the wrong way round, it was the F-22's which dominated the Typhoon. In fact the F-22 is superior in every way to the Typhoon. The only references to the Typhoon ever coming close to shooting down an F-22 is rumors at best.
Hmm you can barely hold your own against the Taliban, I doubt you'd fare too well. Hey please keep spouting your patriotic bullshit, it's funny.
Typical British small cock syndrome :)
Jospehporta 3 weeks ago
@Jospehporta I'll give you a good example of what I mean mate...
The UK is able to deter the entire South America's from attacking the Falklands with just one destroyer, one SSN, 4 Eurofigthers, Rapier systems and around 1000 troops. That's pretty epic if you ask me. If you go back through history, even under the Empire, the UK always cut it fine and used the minimum amount of assets as possible because they are expensive. This backfired on us in 1939. Numbers alone do not scare us
clutchSlipper 4 weeks ago
@clutchSlipper You are talking about the Falklands now? To be fair no side thinks it's worth going to war over right now. If Argentina really thought it was in their national interests to go to war over the Falklands, the British forces in the area wouldn't be much of a deterrent.
Of course they did get an ass kicking in 1983 as well.
Going back through history, the British maintained their empire through divide and conquer tactics as well as proxy forces. That is not the case today.

They disbanded and 8 years later the SAS were formed again and also the SBS were formed. Even in the 1950s they were STILL the very 1st special forces units until they trained US soldiers to have their own special forces units. I'm proud to be British :-)

@MrHavaniceday I´m asking you if your asking him if he really thinks any western special force is better than the other? What do you think?
Melchersson 3 months ago
@Melchersson with special forces you can't really make that judgement. all special forces have their uses. the seals are more adept at certain things than the sas and visa versa. the rangers are better at certain things than the marine force recon and visa versa. the green beret are better at certain things than the french foreign legions and visa versa. the list goes on and on. the only people that would be stupid enough to call one special forces group weak or pusssies are youtube trolls.
MrHavaniceday 3 months ago

ORDINATED ATTACKS, AIR-RAIDS ETC.
WITH THAT IN MIND, THE STAKES AND HOSTILITY MUST BE VERY VERY EXTREME BETWEEN NATIONS FOR ONE TO START A WAR

CES-
I TAKE THAT BACK-
SPECIAL FORCES AND 'CONVENTIONAL' MILITARY WILL PLAY A ROLE, BUT IT WILL BE DISSIPATED BY ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY.
Eleetnessful 3 months ago
