found these guys in college on the "hill" at alabama a and m university. 90.9 radio station there plays music like this on a regular basis. check them out.
Where have you been hiding my brothers? I have been into R&B since 1952, and today is the first time I've ever heard you sing. You surely were sent from heaven to entertain the masses. I'm going to ITunes right now and downloading your music. You have more soul than you can control. Thanks so much....the cold chills are on the back of this 72 year-old Caucasian woman. (sigh)
It is too bad mainstream music does not play this. It should be on the radio for everone to enjoy! Both my mom and dad would have loved this version and at least dad hated tricks version. I just wish I didn't have to research this music to find it, but I wish it would find me!
First time I saw Holmes Brothers was in Norfolk,Va (Town Point Park), in the early 90's... Their Father came on stage and sang w/ them. My Soul was lifted by their sound and message. I've been a fan ever since! God Bless The Holmes Brothers!

This is so beautiful yet heartbreaking. It really speaks to you if you know what unrequited love feels like.

I did not know that Cheap Trick wrote soul ballads until I saw the holmes brothers live yesterday. ;-)
A great version (and live in concert it's even better).

Sometimes a cover can transcend the original. That is the case here.
