  • if u like big mountain watch sean pettit in attack of la nina

  • Can anyone tell me what area of the US they're in here?

  • Jeremiah Johnson is my go to movie!

  • @codenameDaedalus nuff said

  • already watched this but I don't care, watching it again (:

  • Just curious if you can recall what pants and boots Cr0cket20 is wearing in this video are....thank you!

  • My second time watching this, but I just realized it. When you bring up the hunting/ processing/ storing of an animal in the wild, an odd change comes over you. I'm surprised I didn't notice it the first time. You really are in tune with the mountains. I'm a big hunter myself. But you almost seem to have moved past that. The simple act of hunting is no longer a hobby. Like in Jeremiah Johnson: the white man enjoys it, but the Indian thinks it natural. You're there, and I congratulate you, sir.

  • who carved EBS on that birch tree?!

  • Why do you use a trekking pole? I never understood the need for this item, but then again I have yet to hike seriously

  • @ianjeisenberx Trekking poles are VERY handy.. I use them on Day Hikes and they help push me uphills and help pull me back when I am going down hill. They give you something to lean on when you stop to take a break.. and they've saved me from falls a few times. Well worth the money.

  • @hulkbuster1026.

Yes, it would be an almost necesity to have a fire arm. Too many preds around not to have a leathal defence option. Although you would have to mind the snow above you when fireing a gun, could cause an avalanch.

  • what hat is that i really want one please reply

  • Nutn - Loved your reference to the movie Jeremiah Johnson. The .50 cal Hawkins black powder rifle used in the movie belonged to my wilderness survival instructor "Papa Bear" Whitmore. Founder and owner of Wilderness Institute for Survival Education (WISE) in Littleton, Colorado. Truly an amazing person and good friend. Sadly he passed away a few years ago, but you couldn't find a more warm and generous person. A bear clan, tribal elder of the Choctaw Indians. Taught me a lot about life.

  • ive seen all four parts and was wondering if its wise to take a firearm on a trip like that

  • Do you take any guns with you on these backpack trips? Just in case?

  • They still Make the Jansport Carson

  • hey nutn, me and my dad always talking about going out that way and do epic big game hunting, we kinda need a guide seince pennsylaina isnt as amazing as that soo wana be our guide? :D that would be my dream....adding it too the bucket list, go backpacking with nutn

  • Love the music. Great video Nutnfancy.

  • I've watched the entire Moonscape series twice now. Love it! I can relate when you say you could just sit and appreciate the beauty. Amazing. Just Amazing. And the music is great! Is there anywhere where I could download it or something? Thanks Nutn for all of the time and effort you put into the project, much appreciated! Keep up the good work!

  • That scenery looks mesmerizing.

  • Lmao "just for cuddling purposes"

  • hey nutn i have watched a lot of your videos and this is my favorite i am just wondering where this is because i would really love to hike it if you could atleast tell me what mountains these are Thanks

  • The views are awesome. I like what Heavenly Father has created for us to see. For the two of you to bring it to us. The friendship and humor the both of you offer is priceless. I know the more hiking and backpacking I do, I enjoy it. My wife is getting more and more involved too. Thank you for the things I have learn fro you. Have a great day. The video and music is perfect.

  • Nutnfancy arent you afraid of bears when you are out hiking?

  • @SuperTowlie1 Where he goes, you just don't see them. -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy does he also carry a side arm with him anyway?

  • @jgsnipe1 Yes, Nutn is always carrying...even off the mountain. -- Veri

  • IMHO, the only real chance at downing a moose or a deer would be;

    a) Find a well used game trail and locate a pinch point along it. This will increase your odds at getting close enough to spear it.

    b) At this same location, set a snare with your strongest cordage. Attach the end to a strong but flexible tree. This will eliminate (reduce) the possibility of it breaking the line, and will slow the animal down. Setting up near this position will allow you the time to get close to spear it.

  • great hat Cr0cket20. Go PENNSTATE!

  • "I'd locate him first". LMAO. Well said sir.

  • Get well soon Ali!

  • Where did you get that Kangaroo rib pack?

  • Hi, nutn, great reviews and hikin vids, Keep um comin sir. Ever think of goin lite. As in lightweight hikin. Just a thought, take care...

  • I have taken that same Jansport Carson backpack on two backpacking trips, and its great. My only real criticism is the orientation of the top pouch zipper (faces toward you when wearing) which is difficult to access when you pack is laying on the ground while accessing the main compartment. Got a kick out of seeing you rocking the same one Nutn!

  • what's he complaining about at 29:53? I can't understand

  • @jasonzuvela He says four-wheelers. It took me a couple of listens to get it.

  • haha, the moose you got with your trekking poles... that must explain why the tsa considers them deadly weapons!

  • Just got back from my own hiking adventure in alaska (blew off all my spare cash, back to work + overtime to make up for that, haha) and unfortunately there are no mountains to backpack around chicago.... Well, at least I can watch these and pretend!

Anyway, amazing vid Nutn, I wish more people I knew had your outdoor spirit!

  • Outstanding vid Nutn and crocket, beautiful countryside, fun banter amongest to 2 buddies off to watch the next part, thank you both for uploading this excellent vid best wishes and take care

  • Was that graffiti on the tree at the beginning??

  • where's this place? I want to go backpacking here. Looks like fun

  • @ChiliPepperFireSpit weight issue perhaps? And we all know that Nutn is all about the weight stuff

  • c'mon Nutnfancy; you know better than to put a knife on a stick & use it as a spear!!! (13:45) .. great way to LOSE a knife! especially the Buck Hoodlum; in said 'survival' situation, that would probably be the one knife you'd want to keep!

  • I would be very dangerous tryin to spear a swamp donkey lol

  • Enjoy your videos. Would appreciate more info on the "Ribs" pouches/pack?

    Pack on.

  • @V5R7N Crocket20 posted a review on his page.

  • Nutn, why did you like hunting as a child, but no longer as an adult?

  • @July41776 If we needed the meat, Nutn probably would...but he just says that he prefers to watch animals rather than kill them now. -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy Nutn, I bet all your haters with their tails stuck to their couch cushions look like ants from the tops of those awesome mountains you climb. Keep up the good work, Nutn!

  • Whats up with the carved up tree in 5:39?

  • Nice video, it really made me miss home. I grew up in the Salt Lake valley.

  • What was that at the bottom left-hand corner around 40:25 ?

  • What was that at on the bottom left-hand corner around 40:15 ?

  • I'd love to go hiking with you one day!

  • some great scenery dont get nothing like that in london lol

  • Wow... even good to watch a second time. =D

    Great stuff. =D

  • Down a deer with a snare on a game trail. Then use the spear you talk about to dispatch it quickly and bon apitite.

  • I'm finally starting to catch up on videos. Awesome stuff.

I'm probably going to be going backpacking later this summer. I've never really done it before. But like other things you have gotten me into cool things to do and spend time with friends on. Thanks for everything!

  • What is the song at the beginning?

  • I've been sick & staying in quite a bit. Man, do I ever want to feel normal & get out! I asked some friends if they wanted to camp too, they seem interested :) I suppose it's my duty to organize a simple camping trip. If I could bring a .22--that would be soooooo much fun,y'know just randomly plink. I'm sure the park won't allow firearms...

  • yo dudes more back packing vids great job

  • Like i've commented before you need a hands free video camera that could go on your head I've seen some good things from those "Go Pro" Video recorders plus you could use it to do cool POV Run and gun and if im not mistaken their water proof ( =

!!!THUMBS UP SO NUTN CAN SEE!!!!

  • @Ridered367 POV Run and gun would be sweet!

  • @Ridered367 Go Pro for sure buddy. *Allie can have one.*

+1 for a POV Run and Gun with a Go Pro on the gun. I've seen it on a Nova.

Thanks for keepin' it comin' fancypants.

  • @Bobbysharrock And how awesome would it be to see POV run N Gun on a coarse where your like coming up and out of water or having to shoot underwater an stuff It could be like a Navy seal training course!

  • @Ridered367 He has said in another video that he doesn't use those because he might not be filming what he is looking at, like maybe if he is hiking on a trail and sees a nice view to his left, he can show it to us while focusing on moving forward.

  • Totally awesome video! It is so cool to see all that snow. It is hard to imagine how much energy you two were burning up hiking up there. Great video of the area and very nice zoom action too!

  • Could someone give me some boot recommendations? I need fantastic ankle support and I have long thin feet. I'm having a hell of a time trying to get boots that work, thinking I may have to get some custom ones if possible. :(

  • @RohanAirsoft The Danner "Rough Out" military hot and cold weather boots provide very good support. I have yet to role my ankles in them (and I role my ankles really easily.) Rocky S2V military boots also work very well. I have heard that Oakley boots provide good support, but I can not confirm that.

  • @Leucoandro I like the look of the Rocky S2Vs, I'll look into them more. I'm not sure if I want to go with waterproof boots or waterproof socks. A lot of people I know are moving to waterproof socks on the principle that the boots going to get wet no matter what but your feet don't have to, I'm on the fence about it. I heard the Oakleys can get damaged or melt easily from heat, if I'm going to be walking all day I'd like to know I let them to dry by the fire without too much risk. Thanks.

  • @Leucoandro P.S - I ask because I've had a lot of trouble finding good boot reviews and I'm not enclined to trust the descriptions from companies as obviously they're trying to sell you the product. Despite my channel name as Airsoft I do a lot of other out doors stuff too, my old leather boots just don't cut it any more. They are seriously worn out after years of use and a recent trip from Calais to Rome finished them off and nearly my feet too. I got some cheap converse boots for the mean time

  • @Leucoandro and the Converses, well quite frankly they are total crap.

  • What trail is this?

  • at about 5:32 looks like people carved their names in the tree. not cool. great vid, looking foward to pt 2!

  • @thenorthwoodsFH It's already up, waiting for 3 lol. Didn't see the tree carvings, definitely not cool

  • this is why i joined the BSA

  • Very cool vid Nutn. That said, what is it about the outdoors and farts that always gives everybody a case of the giggles?

  • Anyone know where this is?

  • @1985usa It's definitely the Wasatch Mountains. My best guess would be Big Cottonwood Canyon, I was up there today and the snow levels are about the same. It's beautiful country, that's for sure.

  • what kind of food supplies do you take with you on a backpacking trip.

  • i cant thank you and crocket for doing these adventures, i do not often get out and this helps me stay informed about everything outdoors. thanks for another awesome video nutn.

  • Dude, I almost spit my coffee out when Crocket says "and the wipes" There's room for the adult diapers on one side and wipes on the other. Nice guys. He was all excited to start explaining how nice they are, and here you are chiming in with a joke, lol. 5:05

  • Thanks for posting video. That's a XC ski paradise, not just the steep stuff, the stuff you standing on. I could hike to the top with climbing skins on and ski all the way to the bottom of 38:0? in about 15 minutes. I'd still need to bivouac, LOL cause of the long drive. Funny thing with snowmobiles Vs XC skis. They are heavy and break down and need lots of gas a trailer and truck and storage. Wouldn't think of it, but I got snow spray in my air cleaner from deep snow, and it shut down.

  • i wish you were my dad your pretty cool and funny (not to give the wrong idea my dads cool and all but still)

  • ditto Jeremia Johnson , i named my dog after the rifle he found.

  • Great vid! Thanks for posting!

  • treeffitti at 5:50

  • Funniest comment ever...

Crocket: "I was thinking you spotted a deer or moose or something"

    Nutn: "Spotted something"

I can't stop laughing... thanks for another fun adventure Nutn!

  • Nevermind you answered the question further in the video.

  • Crocket is that a badlands backpack you are using?

  • I might of missed the reason but why is there a lazer pointer on crockets face at 26:55?

  • @Rking100000 It's a lens flare from the sun on the camera.

  • Nice vid again nutn. Question though, why wear gaiters without waterproof trousers? Get snow above the gaiters and the trousers will wick the water under the gaiters. I've had a lot of use with gaiters living in Scotland and working outdoors. Cheers Steven

  • is that the timex ironman watch? i wear one aswell and i noticed once, I think crocket wears one too, I kinda wouldn't mind a review of what you guys think of it

  • Comment removed

  • your videos really put me in your shoes! excellent work as always! btw just picked me up a cold steel G.I. Tanto thanks to your vids. keep it up buddy :D

  • i could see crocket in a giant frying pan sledding down the mountain.

  • I understand you may enjoy a certain type of environment when you going adventuring, but I wouldn't bash everyone elses' as being something for "lower quality" individuals. May not be your thing, may not be mine, but no reason to hate on something that makes the adventuring enjoyable to them.

Other than that, great video, please keep them up.

  • got wolves in Montana, Idaho and Wyoming too dude;) but not really a good thing..

  • Very beautiful! Thanks.

  • Finally the Fenix TK15

  • at 27:13 that fat woman was sniping him with a laser pointer

  • just wanted to say I love these videos and you reminid me of my master sergeant and yes thats a compliment.

  • Looks like another great Nutn backpacking adventure, I cannot wait to see the other parts. Nutn, good job man! Greets from Germany!

  • start carrying a gun there like a p3at? or lc9 ? five shots in the right area would slow it down

  • Ordered a Ribz pack the other day after watching this video. Have been looking for a good way to carry my Glock 29 during backpacking, where I could get to it easily without having to open carry. Looks like what I've been looking for.

  • I love these "actual" videos - just catching the moments as they happen. Getting out like this is never easy but always worth it - well done guys, and thanks for bringing us along. I'm pretty much sold on that Ribz pack - looks like an awesome way to supplement a backpack while putting the crucial stuff up front where you want it. On to the list it goes!

  • Don't forget, a lot of those early explorers died trying. Still, those folks walked everywhere or rode animals, lived outside or in houses that weren't much better than outside and had to depend on their immune systems to stay healthy. Ones who couldn't usually died as children from disease. A downside to the benefits of modern living is that we are pretty soft physically and in some ways mentally.

  • Frames are cool.

  • dude nutn you didnt tell us about your gear in the beginning!!! p.s. what was the writing on the tree at 5:40

  • we have all been backpacking with Nutnfancy

  • sweet shot at 21:00

  • Wow! 52 pound pack. Must be a bear on that terrain. Reminds me of our short family hikes when ill carry a small pack and my 4 year old on my shoulders.

  • when you show the clip from glacier call at 36:03 it looks like you have a couch strapped to your back haha that is a heck of a pack

  • If nutn were alive back in the day of the Roman Empire, he'd have been a Gladiator named Farticus.

  • @limegreendream67 LOL. See, I picture him as a career centurion giving survival instructions to less experienced soldiers. His name would be Flatulus Maximus.

  • The website says hardened steel for the badlands pack

  • Lots of fun & laughing here & that mental image had me in stitches as ya'll were talking about it : ) It never fails when I get out with buddies on a trip we digress back to our wild 12y/o selves. The outdoors are a great place to recharge & have fun.

Talking points: you tube season, hunting wild game & bushcrafting. Great video guys & great that you were able to make time & share this adventure with us!

  • would do anything to go hiking in an area like that!

  • I run those Ribz [same color]. have had them for awhile now.. I love them. They are great for holding quick access items. They ride well when adjusted properly. As in the vid; drop the backpack at base camp and keep the Ribs on. you always have your VIP gear on you.

  • Can't wait for part 2!!

  • hey nutn what camera do you use?

  • @30 seconds.... what's a "Moo-scape"?

  • Wow nuff said

  • I'm praying for Allie The Mountain Dog, dude. I wish you the best of luck. And I love your videos. Thank you.

  • i enjoy the editing as well. after a fun camping or adventure trip i come home and edit then put away and clean gear. edit more. eat while editing. edit for hours. upload for hours lol but it puts the adventure in stone for history to relive and share with others. i even load all mine on viddler too for my chinese audience who can use youtube. great adventure. i posted a video of my new survival shelter as a response to this. keep up the great adventures. check my channel for epic adventures

  • whens the next one coming? were waiting!.........:/

  • fun adventure guys. anyone reading this. i live on mt hood oregon on a volcano in the national forest and i make a huge amount of videos on survival. camping. rafting. real guns. airsoft too. tactical gear. reviews. product test. 30 weapons of samurai and ninja and training in my dojo and in the forest. extreme sports. snow shoeing. snowboarding bmx. anyone who likes nutn would love my stuff. archery too. peace all nutn viewers. peace nutn

  • Allie update vid plz. fallen, valued TNP'er! is sadly missing.... and speaking of.... Get a pack on Sadly Missing for a hike... or is he too busy duracoating?

  • Project !!! Project !!! Project !!!!

  • guys thanks once more

  • @wickedlasers im using an iphone so i dont get ads or annotations. Lol

  • I know ur uber busy with a lot of other product reviews, and i appreciate all of your hard work a lot, but i was wondering how good the S&W Powerglide was. It is a pantographic knife for only about 20 Dollars online. If u get a chance, check it out. Im getting the black tanto version soon.

  • Nutn in the begining of the video it says mooscape just a little fyi either that or im losing my mind

  • @survivalkiing there is an annotation about it lol

  • I'd hate to be the one who has to wash Nutn's underwear or does she just throw them out and buy him new ones.

  • anyone know of a good backpacking camera/recorder? point and shoot preferably

  • @MindBullets2142 i heard of kodack has some nice ones check out pentax's tough cam its small and tough hence the name

  • I really like the backpacking videos, keep them coming!

  • Mainly because who wants to watch regular T.V. It is so bad.

  • I think this is the future of Television. But we need to call it something else. Maybe lifevision. Thanks for the video, I hope you are making a living with it somehow. Plus I think tv will be a version of this in the future.

  • I wish there were more gun and knife reviews. I understand this isn't my channel and I understand some people like these "slice of life adventures". But as a long time sub for 3yrs or more...I really have a hard time getting into these 40min+ hiking vids. I do have the option of not watching them. But I feel I represent a majority of subs of this channel when I say "please stick to reviews and or shop visits". It's cool if you pepper clips of your hikes and testing. I'm just here for reviews.

  • Only thing i like better than the adventure videos are shooting videos and that is a close one. Had to go back and watch glacier call to recapture the greatness there. Went backpacking a month ago for around 35 miles over 3 days (slightly flatter and a lot hotter, 95+ during days). Really love to see the gear differences just based on climate and location. All this one is missing is Allie:(

  • nutnfancy

you always knows how to bring me back to the days.....

  • Allie is missed in this adventure , hope she is recovering well !

  • Question here, not wanting to flame or anything, just a question. Nutn, why is it that you have 141,056 subs, and no negative comments? Do you delete them? Why is it that you have bought accounts on ebay to sub you? And who in the world actually gives up a offer from the Discovery channel? Not wanting to be rude, but that sounded like a load of CRAP from you. It seems so far that you have lied, big time. I would like to know otherwise, but I now don't know who to believe.

  • Completed a 3 day hike the other day with wild camps

  • Awesome adventure, as always! Thanks for all the work nutn! And most importantly, keep on having fun like that, even if you need a season off!!!

  • only 15 min into the vid and gotta split out for 4th celebrations and honoring those that keep us free. After 5 min. in I was.. "where's TMD?".. Hope she wasnt sad missing the adventure, and hope her recovery is going well.

Hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th holiday.. "Gear Check".. Will be running 2 leathermans, Kershaw Scamp, and a cheap Norinco 9mm incase any help needs to be rendered tonight...

  • Love the Backpackin vids and totally dig the intro song. another homerun By Nutnfancy thanks

  • The Ribz looks very useful. You can drop your main load and go with just your Ribz to move faster in an emergency. They will be one of my next items.

  • Thanks to both of you for the extremely well made vids. I bought a Preon 1 and 2 thanks to your reviews. Only to drop my P1 in the Pacific Ocean. It's so high quality it'll probably last until the evolved apes dig it up in a few hundred thousand years. I may replace my P1 with something with a little more throw. Thanks again Nutn and Cr0cket20

  • Crocket toss me your Glock and then ill save you! lol.

  • lol fart bag.... marinating in your own juices.... gotta love tnp

  • Wow Season off, would be a great TV show Maybe Discovery Channel, TLC, NAt Geo, Great idea, GO for that, make moves with that!

  • good times...

  • "Marinating in your own juices." Might be the funniest most disturbing thing I've heard yet. :)

  • Was Crockett in the military? It looks that way, by the way he carries himself.

  • im Loven crockets pack!

  • I'm glad to see someone rockin' the old externals! most folks go for the more cool-looking internal packs. i love my carson 80, took it to Philmont back when i was a Scout. Never-ending space! i swear by externals, just make sure you bring the little wd40 can with ya to keep it quiet!

  • Hell yea!! Been waitenf or this one!!

  • this place looks amazing @nutnfancy what part of america do you live in. iv been thinking about a trip to the us for some hiking and id love to do that!

  • Work..work..work.work.work. Bike season is here no time for my own adventures. Watched this durning one of my few quiet moments in the day. Thanks for the Vid helps my mental state.

  • Its great to see that the increased production level don*t ruin the "Nutnfancy flavour". As always a great video, real life stuff.

  • 33:08 dude dude dude dude…(pause)… thpppp…. oh ha ha ha ha ha!!!!

  • Hey Veri, if Nutn don't want to edit the upcoming parts of this hike because of the view number. (almost happened with high skies..) Tell him, that a lot of us download the vid to our computer and watch it hundreds of times on it.

    -hunter

  • Awesome adventure! Thanks much man!
