I don't consider Dr. Manhattan as a superhero but more of a God as he is in a whole different class compared to superheroes. At the end of the movie he says he may create life on another Galaxy not to mention power over space, time, seeing into the future, being able to be anywhere in a blink of an eye. It's funny how the Watchmen universe, compared to the Marvel and DC univerce has no superpowered heroes. Except for Dr. Manhattan who is then more powerful then all of the heroes in both those universes. Having complete control over matter itself makes him virtually indestructable.

Well...Manhattan can perceive particles that move in between space/time. Adrian managed to build several machines all across the world that "blocks" these particles. There were several plot holes + continuity issues with the whole thing. At the end of the book, Manhattan knew exactly where the highest concentration of particles were being blocked. Why he didn't do anything before, idk. When he was on Mars, he should have been able to tell what was going to happen on Earth

@ComocosonoEWL I would put forward the counter argument that Dr Manhatten killed Rorshach to stop him telling the world about Oxymandias' scheme so that the millions of people already killed would not have died for nothing. At the end of the day, telling the world what had happened would not have made the dead people not dead, but would throw the world back on to the brink of a world war where everyone would have died. Rorshach was determined to talk, could not be reasoned with, so had to die.

I would venture that the surface of the sun could be considered the photosphere or at the very least the chromosphere.
