This isn't tejano n it sure isn't norteño. Its sierreño that Guy is playing a requinto not a Bajosexto! Usually sierreño music uses piano accordion. In some cases its also used in norteño. But requinto is definitely not used in norteño music!
@weslyspartandgo ...totally agree. I live in Chicago and we have the Tejano and Norteño, which differ slightly depending on where you're from or what you're beliefs are. This here is "pura cochinada" like my dad says. ;)
tejano is not just a music genre...it's a culture. A culture that originated on the Texas side of the Texas/Mexican border. Norteno originated on the Mexican side of the Texas/Mexican border. There IS a difference. Respect the music you jerk-off.
@jazzluvr4u well, FIRST of all, Intocable and Pesado are both Norteno bands. Their styles may differ somewhat but neither are Tejano. Second of all, if anything, Los Relampagos were strongly influenced by Conjunto Bernal back in the day, so not surprising that there are some similarities between the two. Let's not forget that it was Paulino Bernal who catapulted Ramon Ayala and Cornelio Reyna into stardom.
@airbubba1 ...I agree with your response but that still doesn't answer my question. Intocable is from Texas so when I was stationed down there, Tejanos claimed them as Tejano music, but for Pesado, they're from Monterrey yet Tejanos still consider them Tejano. I know what you mean by a Tejano is a culture. I guess poeple generalize because of the Mexican roots. It's like me being from Chicago, they say I'm Chicano. I still don't know what the hell that is but to each their own! =)
This is not Tejano music, Tejano music incorporates the Bajo Sexto along with the bass guitar or guitarron and the accordion and tends to have germanic influence. often it includes violins for certain songs and has an alomst Ommpa Ommpa Ommpapa beat to it
cerve414 estas pero tan tan pen..... well you probably one of tohose deep down in your style of music. there is a thing called tejano musicand it goes way farther than just the language. STYLE, RYTHIM, INSTRUMENTS. Symply compare Ramon Ayala's music and then listen to Flaco Jimenez, or Tony De La Rosa, completely different style, yet some same songs and same language. Check or research the music before you leave a dumbass comment. Dont confuse your dislikes with whats right!
Fantastic! Great!. By the way of art and music I want to show you what musicians of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay are doing with a accordion. Please see these 4 videos, including folklore music from south Brazil:

@airbubba1 ....So what's the differnce between Relampagos del Norte and Conjunto Bernal from back in the old days? Or Intocable and Pesado today?

Cerve is wrong, Tejano is NOT Norteno.. Any simple minded person knows the difference. Ask any Tejano musician...
