Well at least the moment when Great Britain missed the boat was documented.
Looks like we'll be buying out LFTR's from China then instead of selling them to the world.
This technology is the solution to the planet's energy problem and the cure for most of the planet's political instability. Thanks to the rediscovery of this already proven technology there is hope for the future of mankind. Such a shame that as a country we won't benefit from it.
@rickholmes68 There's a follow-up to this, quite a bit more promising. YouTube title "Baroness Worthington @ House of Lords on Sellafield future 2011-09-07". Kirk Sorensen blogs about it at Energy From Thorium.
This is great, but there was not a thing referenced to molten salts. There were qualities of the molten salt reactor referenced, but then they went back to india and a process that still used light water reactors.
Don't forget people, the reason that LFTR's work so well is a combination of viable opportunities, and the molten salts are the technological wonder just as much as the thorium fuel cycle is. I hope one day to put work in the chemical reprocessing field of these molten salts IN-LINE.
@KungFuNE There was a reference to molten-salts. Baroness Smith clearly stated that she was talking about the liquid-fluoride thorium reactor (LFTR) which is a form of molten-salt reactor. I'm not sure Lord Marland parsed that message though.
Info copied from EnergyFromThorium comment by Andrew Jaremko:
I don’t think the Lords will find the National Nuclear Laboratory particularly helpful. Nuclear Green discusses "The Thorium Fuel Cycle" from NNL, is seriously flawed. Doesn’t reference anything except the NNL’s internal experience with thorium.
Is that Count Dracula with a tan in the background, 6:30? xD

That Lady in the blue jacket is obvious Queen Elizabeth in disguise. She's not fooling anyone by sitting far away from the throne.

@jdnutt8907 The British political minions are more civilized and a proud people. The Congress is more of a group of hogs, competing for the slop.

@jdnutt8907 the confusing point is that the horse of lords isn't elected, but they actually do some good stuff sometimes
Danny011189 2 months ago
@jdnutt8907 the House of Lords is where the meaningful stuff goes on. the House of Commons is the Punch and Judy show.
