Most of those vans that were unmarked and the one that looked shitty, were carrying members of either the Phoenix SWAT Team, or other SWAT teams who were chosen to assist in the motorcade. In the event an assault was to be attempted. As for the traffic, they usually just close off entrances to the Freeways, and either have everyone exit, or pull off the road.

I saw Obama's motorcade today in pittsburgh,pa he was there for the aflcio labor union thing. They had these big black suvs with black domes on them . Do you know what they are? I assume it was him in there because it was the road directly coming from the airport he landed at. I saw ambulances following to. I know that they will not transport the president without an ambulance just in case he need's immediate medical attention

If it's what i'm thinking about, those domes on top of the SUV's are just Satelites. Whether it be for radio comm. or TV's I don't know. But i'm fairly certain that's what they are. Could be wrong though.
