  • See how many moves m.j learned from the Dr!!!

  • Nice video nd Sond Feeling it

  • hey what song is this?

  • @AllStartedInAf Little Brother - For You

  • best mix for one of my favorite player

  • Good video, crap audio. Just turn it down.

  • @srekal88

thanks for having my back, you worded it much better than me!

  • His jumper was the only part of his game that wasn't considered exquisitely graceful.

  • Doc epitomized the slam dunk, when you think of Dunking you gottta go with the Doctor, even though Jordan and everyone took it to another level but It's becasue of Dr. J the greatest dunker of all tome !

  • This is one of my favorite songs..... and it is 70's sort of because it uses a sample of a 70's organ.... its good

  • Little Brother - For You is the song of this video.

  • the move at 12:50 isthe greatest move of all time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wat lil brother song is this???

  • @ousseynoundy the song is called "For You"...this song is on the album "The Listening"

  • Thanks appreciate that

  • If the 76ers had gotten a legitimate center a few years earlier, the Doc would have had a couple of more rings;no offense,Darryl Dawkins.

  • Daryl was good, he just didn't have offense game and was foul prone..If darryl could've just stayed in games long enough he could've scared off other players in da paint.. His mere presence was like that of shaqs..He didnt need much game, he just needed to stay in games and scare off players goin to rim. But he fouled out alot and teams would take advantage of that. Teams would play sixers all out every night and that takes it toll if you dont have any presence in the lanes scaring off players.

  • "Chocolate Thunder from the planet Lovetron was entertaining, though, wasn't he?

  • not even a center, dawkins was pretty good as a 3rd or 4th offensive option down low in the post and a good defender and rebounder, and they had a great defensive and rebounding team, especially in 81 when Dr J won MVP

but imagine if say on that team at 2guard they had Andrew Toney start, or at PF they had some allstar

all they needed was a sidekick for Dr

and then they got Moses (82 MVP) to team up with Doc (81 MVP) for their last superstar year and dominated the NBA like i hadnt seen before

  • I always wondered why Dr. J wasn't more of a colllege sensation;he played at UMASS I believe;just not enough tv coverage at the time,or did he not have a coach that really allowed him to show his stuff?

  • He enrolled at the University of Massachusetts in 1968. In two varsity college basketball seasons, he averaged 32.5 points and 20.2 rebounds per game, becoming one of only five players to average more than 20 points and 20 rebounds per game in NCAA Men's Basketball.[2]

  • doc only played 2 seasons at college and is 1 of 5 players to average 32 pts and 20 rebounds per game. i think espn and network didnt cover much college back then. now a days collge pay big bucks to get tv expsure because that brings in more recruits.

  • H,mmm, 32 points and 20 rebound per game average---that's not bad(LOL) Thank you.I guess my earlier analysis was a little off.

  • yea your right. tv didnt cover him.

  • There was an All_Star game once when Walter Davis made a move that left the crowd buzzing;after the game, reporters asked Erving if Davis had made "a Dr.J. Move". He replied,"No;that was a very fine Walter Davis move". As graceful off the court as on it. to the Poster: Great that you included "Nets" footage;I remember Sports Illustrated saying that people were missing "The Greatest show on earth" because the A.B.A. finals weren't being nationally televised. Great Job....

  • BOOTIE SHORTS!!! XD JPJP

    nice video!

  • the music here is BS. The doctor came from an era of smooth 70s...not thug posturing. It's a shame there isn't some Philly Soul or P-Funk, Stevie, or EW&F with this video. Remember- Julius Erving's legend belongs to ALL people, not just blacks in the ghetto....have some class!

  • so true, so true, Dr J is from that very kool '70s era,but I must remind u that more blacks in the suburbs buy that music than in the ghetto because they have the money and if u actually ever went to a rap concert, the crowd is about 60% young white kids and I used to manage a music store and I used to watch who bought what, I saw more white ppl buy rap than blks and i lived in the burbs, so its an MTV thing man not a black ghetto thing, but sure enuff, DR J is a kool 70s guy

  • It's not really about the music though is it?If you don't like it press mute! there's no "in game" sounds! I just picked a song that i liked! Hopefully you enjoyed just watching Dr J!

P.s I never said his legend does not belong to all people. Stop reading into it too much!

  • @RAM71 Bitch you have some class. If you knew anything about hip hop you would know that LB if faaaaar from Thug anything. You can't understand the metaphors so you don't like the song. Your talkin' bout shit you know nutthin' about. The song is very appropriate cause just like the song For You, Doc was servin' mothafuckaz on that court, ie the lyrics are servin' wack ass mc's...so here bitch...For You...nuts in ya mouth

  • buzzer beater dunk! so awesome

  • :40 best dunk during a game, ever.

  • OMG, a NBA mix with Little Brother on it. Dope. Keep pumpin that real shit!

  • the lay up on the sonics is ill too!

  • the move at :23 is ridiculous

  • 0:40 jordan used that move

  • yeah - the lyrics are offensive - ask the Doctor 10 to 1 he says so - you don't get the era mf.

  • one thing about Dr. J - he was Class with a capital C.

  • whats the song dont listen to these fags who hate on the song

  • The music is terrible. I seriously doubt Dr, J, a man of great taste, would be happy about that. Great clips of hoops greatest player but distasteful that some idiot accompanies that with a shitty song that says "nigger" over and over. Shame on you and every person that thinks that is acceptable, Dr J deserves better.

  • agreed maybe smth mo-town ish..

but this is little brother and they are some of hip hop's finest groups

dont let the profanity or beat fool ya.

  • Dr. J is da real deal dude! Ima girl n i reallly appreciate watchin da "ART" of basketball. I LOVE DIS GUY!!!!

  • All the talk about Jordan is fine, but Dr. J is the man who saved pro basketball. He introduced the above-the-rim style of play and brought a whole generation of young fans to the game in the '70s when basketball was at a low point. The Dr. was at Clyde Drexler's jersey retirement in Houston and Julius nearly got as loud an ovation as Clyde. Clyde is nothing less than a hometown hero, but Dr. J is still that popular with the fans 20 years after he hung it up. One of a kind.

  • NOw yall know where Micheal Jordan--got all of his moves from! He got his moves b y watching & studying Dr. J's game & style of play very carefully!

  • hes a revolutionary gangsta

  • how the hell does he do it :O 5/5

  • old school basketball

  • you got them birds i want a few, first, ima drop a deuce homie want 12, I want 30, boy dats 42, Call dat pack that James Worthy zone 6 Julius Erving, Sat my Donk on Julius Erving, Ride thru the 6 like george gervin,

  • That move at 23 seconds (vs. the Blazers) is just sick, especially in real time. How in the hell do you almost step out of bounds and then reach out and bank it with your left hand? Ain't no shame in that D, Calvin Natt-Doc just defied the laws of physics. Thanks for the post-that's one of Doc's best moves ever.

  • rolly,,tru dat, i saw doc do that at philly spectrum all time..he would do it on 3 guys sometimes..he had long arms and big hands so it was easy for him. the ball was like size of tennis ball for doc. dr.j made crazy moves that werent captured on film due to limimted nba exposure back then.

  • who has a alltime top 3 DOCTOR J favorite SHOT,DUNK and or MOVE.....ABA or NBA

  • hell yeah, i almost spit water on my screen watching it. that shit was insane

  • who has a alltime top 3 DOCTOR J favorite SHOT,DUNK and or MOVE.....ABA or NBA

  • SICK MAN

  • dr j man the best and whats the song name

  • Little Brother - For You

  • nice

  • one of the best player!!!!!! Dr.J uhhhhhhhh

  • Check the hug of the Doc's legs by that guy. I'd probably be pretty overwhelmed too.

Thanks for reminding folks about one of the true greats.

  • that was magic johnson holding him. magic said that" he held doc cuz he didnt wanna make doc fall and make magic look like a playahater.". doc took the title in that game to win it all (in fo fo fo.) back in 83.

  • From Julius to Micheal it wasn't the shoes it was the skills, the hands, great body control, and hang time. Damn just imagine if Doc would've went to the NBA instead of the ABA first!

  • it almost happned, he was drafted by the atlanta hawks, played off season games there with maravich, My God , mybe with insane moves, he could average 50 pts per game,

  • @mrcbab Dr.J was the MJ of his day...and alot of people don't even know that Dr.J set the foundation for MJ's style of play

  • this is the man who made jordon

  • dr. j is better of a dunker that mj but not better then mj at 3 pointers

  • Dr J was a great slam dunker and a classy person. The MUSIC SUCKS!!!! It's low class, LESS THAN 0 posted by obviously a low class person.

  • Fair enough, have an opinion on the music but personal insults to someone u haven't even met! pshh!

  • It's one of the best songs ever

  • Quite a shame that the music disrespects the class and grace that Dr. J always demonstrated. I've got to agree that he's my favorite player of all time - so we have that in common!

  • yo wat is diss song called doee

  • oh, sorry lol i have two youtube accounts! iversonuk and nes73, my bad! loool

  • Ahh da Doctor what a true beast!!

  • he is the best dunker

  • im glad they got lil brother in the background because most dont know who they are, five stars man!

  • Liked the highlights, but not the music.

  • My favourite Legend of the Legends!!!!!!

  • out of wilt chamberlin, M J, Magic johnson, and lary bird, Dr. j is better then all of them

  • Dr J was badass. I would love to see more game footage of him when he was in the ABA.

  • Check out my vid about Dr. J!!!!

  • where did you get these videos? I have wanted to make a mix of him but I can't find videos that I can import into Windows Movie Maker.

  • The Doctor with the reverse from behind the backboard, rocking the craddle over Michael Cooper, and all the ABA dunks over Walton - Best plays ever. The real king is the Doctor.

  • Cool, but what is the name of this sound ? :D

  • Little Brother - For You

  • haha, saWEET vid.

  • Great player - Dr J forever!

I'm looking for the song from this videoclip!

  • MJ's DADDY !

  • Very good video. The soundtrack and mix of moves and dunks were a great example of Doctor J's game. I am a little older and got to see both ABA and NBA Dr. J. He made moves 3 or 4 times per game that I have never seen before or since. The Doctor was something special!

  • Thanks, im 18 and from the UK so never got to see the doctor in a full game not even on TV but i am always amazed by what he did and respect his game alot! "The Doctor was something special!"

  • Glad to see the youth showing respect for the Doc. I lived basketball from 9-18 years old

  • I f your from the uk what do you think of marco bleneli
