I wish you entered the contest, even for fun. I'm a HUGE fan of yours, and I want to follow your footsteps in ocarina making. For now, I only play them.
@ocarinasrevived Hi... sorry for the late reply. My house was being renovated and I didn`t have internet for a while. You really should try to make ocarinas. It takes some practice, but it`s lots of fun.
@theocarinadude The hole sizes are different for every ocarina. That depends on the total volume of the interior cavity of the ocarina. You should get a tuner and tune the holes. Start with the smallest one and work your way up. I think Clayz has a fingeringchart on their site. Find out what the basic pitch of the ocarina is... then start tuning in that scale and follow the fingering chart for all the notes. Don`t forget the flats or sharps that go along with the scale that you are using!
Roughly the second hole is twice as big as the smalles one. The third hole is twice as big as the second one and the fourth hole is always the biggest one. If you play the fingerings for the flats and sharps you can find out if every hole is the right size or if it still needs to be re-adjusted. Good luck... and let me know how you did.
Thanks! This is the version I found on the internet somewhere and I never knew the song, so I don`t even know if this is the whole song, or just a part of it, lol.
Hi... I sometimes do sell some ocarinas on e-bay, but if you let me know what you are looking for I can see If I have something suitable for you. My mail is on my page.
I sell one through ebay every now and then, but not that much, because I am working quite a lot these days. But if you are really interested... just let me know by mailing me what you would like... and I`ll see what I can do!
Hi... I wouldn`t really know in the US, because I live in The Netherlands, but I would try arts and crafts stores or ask local art centres where they get their clay from... or maybe search for it and order online.
Hi There... no I don`t have any molds yet and I am pretty busy with work lately, so I don`t have the time to learn how to make molds. I know pretty close what the size should be for a pendant model, so Maybe I can get it done with a tuninghole. My e-mail is on my page... I`ll see what I can do for you.
