Fantastico !!! Yeah I always felt that Patrick and Keith Emerson were two of Rocks greatest keyboardist of all time. I had the pleasure of seeing Moraz and Bruford in 1986. smokin!!
I'm a Yes fan, for the instrumental parts alone. I don't much care for their lyrics, as they are more like words thrown together in wierd arrangements that have no particular meaning. Some may call that poetry, but not I. The only Yes song that remotely had a coherent lyric was, "Owner Of A Lonely Heart", but even with that song, true Yes fans believed the band sold out.
I love this piece. It is a fantastic representation of Mr. Moraz's skill and composing merit. I'm wondering if anyone has any sheet music for this piece? I would love to play it.
ja, mikor a zenész még zenész volt, de rég volt.a hangszer meg nem egy ismeretlen fogalom, hanem eszköz , hogy az ilyen és hozzá hasonló művészek kápráztassanak el bennünket. köszönjük.
Man... I wish there was footage of Moraz and Bruford together in their Piano and Drums days. I missed them on the Music for Piano and Drums Tour, but caught them the next time, on the Flags Tour (much more electronic). What I wouldn't give to see them again?!
The only real definitive way to judge merit of prog keyboardists is to listen to their acoustic piano work, and I think that's what proves Keith Emerson and Patrick Moraz are more technically skilled than Rick Wakeman. Rick is great, but he can't touch this IMO.
You're among countless hordes in full agreement and are all but utterly disillusioned. IMO, the state of music today is about how the industry drove artistic expression into the ground for cash starting decades ago, but what assisted that process, and maintains its grounding (why we're forced to dip into the past for inspiration), is a spiritual matter.
I agree rabinmoves. Patrick's left hand is as devastating as Keith's. Put it another way - I can play anything Rick can play, but I can't get near Patrick or Keith!
If you want to see some devastating left hand work, watch the video clip I posted titled #3 jam toward the end. He duplicates exactly what his right hand is doing. Truly remarkable.

Awful, -
his playing is way too hard with too much strengh,
and the so called composition: typical Moraz, means so many notes about nearly nothing.

Can anyone please tell me where to purchase the score for the piano and drums part? I'm planning to play this song as part of my HSC exam program

Anyone notice that the "riff" he plays a the beginning sounds a lot like the first few measures of Bach's Invention #13?
ceratophyllum 2 years ago 3
hehehe.... thats true! Maybe this piece of Bach was the inspiration of this great pianist, Mr. Patrick Moraz.

this guy is a ringer from the galactic federation.
i have many live yes recordings and would
have to say his electronic work is second to
none. he was field testing worlds first poly-
phonic synthesizer "orchestron" during the
1976 summer tour. i have 1 word...ritual.
sounds from out of this world. soundchaser
and gates tooo....whoa...

I think wakeman could enjoy himself playing those technical exercises when he was ten years old.

yes only had the greatest keybord players in the world, and patrick is one of them...
talibe801 4 years ago 2
I disagree !
The greatest to date is Donny Osmond ( remember " Crazy Horses " ? )Apparently Yes couldn't afford Donny though!
I AM PULLING YOUR LEG ;-)

Brilliant piano player, far better then Rick, but Rick is better at keyboard sounds rather than solo piano in my opinion

Rick is great but you wouldn't hear him play at this kind of calibre

My word, This guy pisses over wakeman easily. Just look at his left hand work. Its just pure class. Just as good as emerson this.

It's not Rick Wakeman, but it's still pretty sweet.
