  • hmm I actually think The Slip is quite a bit better than Year Zero. Ghosts is alright, it's basically a demo for his movie soundtrack projects, I just feel like his music is too simple and repetitive to really work instrumentally, except in small doses between singing tracks (as on previous NIN albums). Haven't really got into How To Destroy Angels, seems alright, the girl's voice is too monotonous afaik tell though.

  • this is the best live version

  • DON'T YOU TELL ME HOW I FEEL!

  • his voice is no more the same and he can no more scream like before it's so disappointing T_T

  • @blacklightburns100 Its only been decades since this song was written..

  • Must be hard to be that security guard and not ENJOY LIFE AT ALL

  • Love the part starting around 4:27... it rips right through you just before getting into the end chorus

  • I'm always falling down the same hill.

    The needle puncturing the skin.

    And nothing comes bleeding out

Just like the waterfall I'm drowning in.

And deep below the surface I can still make out your wavy face.

And if I could just reach you

Maybe I could leave this place.

  • Trent sure likes his tambourine xD

  • Great song and great performance. Though I wonder, why couldn't Justin man the keyboards for the entire song instead of making Trent and Robin do all the work? Watch the video closely and you'll notice that Justin literally stands around doing nothing the entire song (he does sing the chorus though). Also, they should have incorporated the spoken lyrics into this performance i some way. Finally, a question about the song itself. What's the deal with the "I wanna fuck everyone in the world" part?

  • @thepenguin55 trent is the master of keyboards

  • @thepenguin55 one of the main themes of this album is people worshiping sex, and that line basicly sums that theme up

  • im made of clay

  • Trent wanna fuck everyone in the world ?

I am part of ''everyone in the world.

This means Trent wants to fuck me !

    FUCK YEAH !

  • pretty frickin awesome

  • Well Trent Reznor is about 45 now.....but y'see, The Fragility tour was the best......so it would be good for Nine Inch Nails to be hyped up again like they once were, because apart from the people who follow them, like at this show - how many other people are taking notice of Nine Inch Nails latest albums.......

  • @overandoutgovt dude, like 1.5 million people downloaded the slip

  • @nich7222 ......WHY?????? I damn near worship the ground that this man walks on, but Ghosts, The Slip and How To Destroy Angels all suck. And I don't care who (dis)agrees. I believe that to be a fact in my life.

  • @ComaAlpha they aren't my favorite either...

  • the chorus, holy fuck.

  • FAIL XD LOVE U TRENT!!!!

  • 4:30 *_* :D sounds so awesome

  • Yeah, I was wondering why Cortini wasn't there.

  • hey Mr. Tambourine Man, play some angry songs for me :)

  • @ScrdlyGreg

    Best. Comment. Ever.

  • @ScrdlyGreg I Do Not Want This.. so f#@% you..

  • manly man with the tambourine....

  • I miss Josh... Ilan is a very talented musician, but Josh suits better to NIN..

  • @THEMISSING76: I agree, I miss the old screaming Trent, but honestly man. NIN put on 2 hour long shows. If he screamed the entire time his voice would be shit by the 5th song. He has to preserve his voice, and NIN were playiing 5 nights a week at the least.

  • haha mix that shit trent! why is he so cool?

  • Trent is getting old--older-- but he is still awesome. The Legacy that is Nine Inch Nails.

  • the poetry in this song is the shit!!!!

  • Nice one ' this one is on us' this is amazing, was going to say thanks any way, then this came on, now i think i may have just come...

    thanks,

    now changing pants

    des

    :)

  • the bass sounds fuckin 10/10 on this song

  • this one's definitely even better live than it is on the album. :) amazing.

  • um. no.

  • that's not to say the album version is bad. <.<

but it is to say i enjoy this live version even more than i do the album version. :)

  • i hear you. but the downward spiral with noise canceling headphones is an audio experience like no other. especially the end of this track. live it's ok but the sloppy guitars and lack of true synths/samples don't do it justice. i was a huge fan of NIN in the 90's and saw them a dozen times, i wish the polish/sound design from those days was evident in this. the guitars sound awful now and trents lazy signing/"HEY!"s all the time are annoying.

  • Man, I listened to the whole album at the studio in my school. Through Pro-grade equipment it sounds INCREDIBLE! Pumping through a set of SOTA speakers it blows you away.

  • For sure dude! like when they played closer, it was way sloppy. and whats most badass about songs sometimes is the subtle synths, and those get tossed. but dont get me wrong, i aint bitchin, trents a badass, but your also right, the heys were annoying. The "heys" were where i high scream is supposed to be. i miss trents old screams!

  • I didn't think i could become more fonder of NIN, then they play this song live. THANK YOU!

  • Ilan Rubin rawks on the drums!!!

  • Holy crap, this is an incredible video, as are all of them. TOIOU and ninhotline, you guys did a great job, much props and thank you sooooooo much

  • this must have been something worth seeing, such closeness to the band almost tasting their sweat. 5/5

  • I don't mind the screw-up at the start. Adds a bit of pizazz. =P

  • @lordofsquad thats not a screw up, he says losing ground like its just a feeling then says im losing ground ground ground and it gives it so much more emotion

  • @TunerLegend17 Sure thing bro. I love Trent and everything he does, but he's only human. You don't have to put him on some pedestal where everything he does is flawless. The keyboard came in early and it threw him off, it's not a big deal.

  • @lordofsquad thats why he only said losing ground first? interesting. even if the keyboards did throw him off he wouldve started off by saying "im losing ground" he added so much more emotion to that line when he did that

  • @TunerLegend17 Because saying something twice adds a lot of emotion.

  • @lordofsquad thats why i dont think it was a screw up at all

  • Comment removed

  • laugh again...i'll find you. and make you wish you loved your mother.

  • Actually he doesn't forget the lyrics... What happens is ROBIN starts playing the piano two bars too early. Trent begins singing, then realizes it and start again. See they're playing to a pre-recorded track with all the electronics : they have to follow the track, can't stretch anything.

  • but aren't the electronics cued by backstage? Or are they all playing in line with electronics through their earpieces or what?

  • I love the whole thing so far, good job guys
