  • 64k ram AMAZING

  • very interesting. I'll just note a few games, more for myself to remember: gyruss, katakis, airborne ranger (found only because of the new google image-upload-and search), stunt car racer (beautifully made in "3d"), Asterix and the magic cauldron (d'awww!), space taxi ofc, ducks ahoy!, north and south, the return of the jedi game, maniac manison, robocop, thundercats

  • 5:51 loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • the water is wet? really? I didnt know that

  • Sex games WTF? xD

  • @WolfySnackrib666

  • @DoktorTrask Dude, in English! Just because I took some German classes in school doesn't mean I'm fluent. Repeat what you just said IN ENGLISH!

  • @WolfySnackrib666

    OK.

I said there are many sex-games on the c64, the most of them was stupid and bad from the gameplay and the grafik. The last time i have seen porn-games on an other platform as the pc was the sega saturn but only in japan.

My english is a little urful but i hope it is ok for you. :o)

  • @DoktorTrask Yeah, that makes sense, thanks. Dunno what urful is though.

  • I missed out on C64 when I was young (my family had at an Atari 2600), but even I feel nostalgic watching this video. :)

  • I realy enjoyed playing Maniac Mansion ,The Last Ninja ,R-Type ,Winter Games ,Skate or Die ,Target Renegade ,Law of the West ,Ghost'n Goblins ,Cauldron ,Giana Sisters ,Highnoon ,Grand Prix Circuit ,..... and many more !! I think that i am a lucky one ,i still have 3 C64's ,2 Amiga 500 ,1 Amiga 500+ and 3 Amiga 600 ,with all those cool Games !!! Sometimes i play some Games !! :)

  • Anyone know the name of that first space game (where you roll around the outside of the screen in a circle and shoot towards the center)?

  • Hello all! Fellow vintage/retro gaming lover here. I am looking for other retro gamers interested in doing some retro gaming online, via Kaillera client. I love MAME, Atari (all 8-bit) Intellivision, MSX, S/NES, etc. I am flexible & open to most gaming genres, but I prefer games that offer 2 player team/simultaneous & co-op play. Anybody who's interested, please feel free to let me know. We can set something up & do a little retro gaming! :-)

  • EPIC WIN!!!fantastic video :-D

  • lol 1/3 more memory for half to cost of an apple. doesnt this sound familiar?

  • I really need the name of the FIRST game I ever played on my c64 in 1989, something with "time" in name if I remember well. A shooter/platformer , side scrolling , each level took place in a different era , like WW2 , Space ,even prohibition era or something etc. Anyone remembers that ?

It would be so great to play that again , bring childhood memories back :)

  • @Zaragoza2006 Yep, I remember it. The arcade game in question is, "Time Pilot" (1982 by Konami). The reason you can't find it could be because the Commodore 64 port/version was actually called "Space-Pilot" (1984 by Kingsoft). There is also Time Pilot 2, & the respective C64 port is called "Space-Pilot 2" (1985 by Kingsoft). I have them all. Arcade & C64 versions. If you're still interested in playing, I can "hook you up"/show & tell you everything you need to play it on your PC. :-)

  • @gjc82071 Unfortunately , that;s not it :( The player avatar in the game Im talking about was a human , not a space ship .

  • @Zaragoza2006 Time Soldier? The character is a human. Listen, try this. Go to GameBase64. com (no spaces). Search for the game, but when you search (this is what I tried), search for games that "CONTAIN" (not start/end with) the word "Time". BTW, I also came up with "Time Fighter" (human avatar) & "Battle Through Time" (but it's a plane & or jeep). BTW, if the game isn't @ GB64, chances are you won't find it anywhere, or it didn't exist. GB64 has the most extensive C64 games database.

  • @gjc82071 Whoa , just got one screenshot of Time Fighter , looks like this is it !

Thanks a lot mate , Ill check out sites you mentioned , time to run that C64 emulator again :)

  • @Zaragoza2006 Really? Cool! Believe it or not, I enjoy practically nothing more than helping a person re-discover a long lost game. If Time Fighter truly is the gaming in question, the fact I helped you find it has probably made me happier than you. Please let me know if it is the game? Also, if you need ANY help in terms of finding the right emulator, ROM, & setting it all up, please let me know. BTW, if you're ever interested in online classic, vintage & retro gaming, let me know! :-)

  • I was born in the 80's, this clip brings back some great memories and games like "Exploding fist 2" & "Archon". Looking back its quite a marvel to see how much could be done on such small memory. The music was great, top clip!

  • always jumping back and forth, games come and go, but come again. Quite annoying. But the retro-ads are worth watching.

  • it would be nice if you could had named the games!

  • Comment removed

  • EEEK at 1:17, lol.

  • I'm trying to find this one Commodore 64 game. I remember my dad and brother playing it when I was about 4 years old. All I remember about it was that when you died you woke up in this house, I remember you had to find tools to cut bushes so you can get to certain places, you climbed latters to get to some places. I remember a cave with an old man or woman in it. If some one can identify this game please please please let me know! Thank you!

  • @babyshroom16

I think the game you are looking for was named "Below the Root". It has a very extensive map with the original. There are kindred spirits and secret clues, etc. Its very well done. MSG me if you think I am right.

  • @blighto OMG you are right! I looked at images of the game and its exactly as I remembered! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • @blighto Do you still do any C64 or retro gaming?

  • "Take care, the water is wet"?

Fabelhaft! :-)

  • LOAD "*",8,1

  • c64 wasnt as good as the competition hardware-wise but had an enormous number of good games that kept it alive for over a decade.

  • I wonder: how long would it have taken me to upload this video from the ol' tape-drive ...? West Bank usually took about 5 minutes and Ghost n' Goblins kept crashing in level 2 ...

  • 5:52 lol :D

  • Yeah really :D

  • hahahahaha I was like wtf, did i see what i think saw :D

  • rule 34: there is porn of it, no exceptions (altho it really wasnt internet at that time it is now since it is on youtube now... ^-^)

  • The Boulder Dash games were awesome

  • I remember the elephant commercial

  • I liked the original model of the 64 better though, they lasted longer. They changed it a lot when they changed the casing. I found the older models tended to last longer and didn't break easily like the second model they put out (the one that looked like the 128) I had the old model and it would have lasted at least many more years if it was not damaged in a housefire (smoke damage), I went out and puchased a new one (the newer model) and had to return it after 6 months. Never did work the same

  • Yeah, I believe I had the newer model. It always ended up not working properly for me - I ended up getting a total of 3 of them and each one gave me grief. It's a shame too since I really liked the Commodore 64.

  • I suspect the games are 4:00 and 4:15 might have been the Amiga versions.

    Great compilation though.

  • isnt the name of the game "PitStop" at 04:15 ?

  • no.. that was grand prix circuit... from accolade

  • the 4.00 is not amiga. But the other one i'm not sure

  • Well youll be pleasantly surprised, theyre bother c64 games!

The graphics in that formula 1 simulator were probably the best for a c64 racing simulation game. Cant remember the name of it though!

  • Nope, it´s Buggy Boy! Played it for hours with a cousin. ;-)

  • What a great Design the C64 had: Personally I think it influenced the SNES Design (slow processor to enable more custom stuff under the hood without going ape with the price) Best Christmas Present I ever got.

  • 5:52 o.O

  • I think c64 was better than atari 800xl.

  • Man our childhood games sucked! They are spoiled today!

  • Wrong, the games had better gameplay and:

    gameplay > graphics

  • Last Ninja, Asterix...ah.

  • What's the name of the game at 2:30 ?

  • Airborne Ranger ;)

  • the first song sounds a bit like plug in baby by muse.. :O

  • Computer games will outfox console games any day.

  • I'm proud, i have 1/4 of these xD

  • Don't forget the enormous 64k memory. Man, sure seemed like a lot back then. How times change...

  • High End Sound & Graphics :))

  • welcome to the past ....retro memories !!

  • 03:43 - "Hören sie die sound..." eh... it's just a wizzing noise :-D

  • Wonderfully edited. This video is just great, though you could have kept the music from each of the games displayed, instead of one tune for all of them.
