  • hi just bought a 148 gtl dx mk2 and wondering if you know anyone or anywere i could take it to have it checked and serviced without sending it to cobraworkshopz as i think there a bit expensive. thankyou andy in lancashire.

  • @andyprful Im sorry I dont know of anyone in your area. Try contacting a radio amateur group local to your area they have might have some info for you. sorry I couldnt help.

  • i used this radio for many many years, if i got the chance to buy another one in great condition i would most definately buy it this is one of the best cobra mobile radios, unlike the cobra 148 DX black face, it's carbon copy

  • @ghostvox yes I agree. alot of amateur radio operators slate it but i tell you what, these radios get you all over the world and thats what it is all about. I also love the Superstar 3900, again a cheap copy of the cobra just about but I had someone tell me they are rubbish, I dont agree, the ones with the red channel numbers are awesome, the ones with the black front had problems as did the blue ones. I bought the red one and I got all over the world on a radio that cost me £120 brand new

  • Nice looking snake. I’ve owned two in the early to mid 80’s. Went 10-7 around 87. I’m thinking about getting another Snake when I’m ready. [Cobra roger, bleep, bleep] over and out.

  • @EmpireLS56KW thanks matey Ive got another 2 one all done and boxed up and the other is still sitting there waiting hehe one day

  • @darynsax LOL you suck. I like that chromed faceplate the original box had an orange feature on it with white and black typeface lettering if I can think back to late 1981. How much are you selling the snake for?

  • @EmpireLS56KW The one on this video I put on ebay and sold at £225 , I had people asking me from all over how much I wanted for it but let the auction run, the other 2 Ive got Im keeping bud but thanks for asking

  • @darynsax I guess some Snakes aren’t for sale.

    hisssss LOL

  • Just love that Roger beep - Cool

  • Ok Ive noticed that cobraworkz have done exactly as I said check it out on ebay they have added extra info to theres ,so if your selling I dont think they would mind you copying what they have said

  • Thanks for clearing that up darren ill try to let people know on ebay as much as i can

  • Yep just looked through ebay and someone has relisted a cobra as it was pulled by ebay because it was in the cb section ,he has relisted it as an amatuer radio and you must have a licence to use one, thats what I said in the first place, so there you have it selling a cobra use these simple rules ,sell under the amatuer radio section and you must stress that you need a licence to alter and use one

  • you could sell it as a 10 metre radio, thats crazy I dont think its illegal to own one just illegal to use the freeband frequency, when cb were illegal in this country cb shops were allowed to sell them but if you were caught using them thats when you got in trouble.amatuers can buy and modify them for 10 metres as far as I know, so again ebay why are you pulling the plug on them

  • I dont know mate theres plenty of ssb radios on there the superstars 3900s seem to be ok at the moment but any 148's are being pulled ive had 3 people email me saying there cobra auction has been closed by ebay.

  • Ebay are pulling thses radios now they wont let you sell them !!!!! :(

  • Your joking thats shocking I wonder why they are doing that

  • dont no lad he just sold it over the radio lmao and got it away no bother lol thanks for the vid their i just got my 148 gtl dx 2 days a go loving it if theirsm any good skip this year hope to hear you im in 68 n.ireland in a city called armagh good few breakers from armagh coming on so hope it pick s up best of 73 101 bye bye

  • lad i no some one that put a cobra 200 on and got it took out

  • @NitroMaximus I think it'll probably be due to the fact that there's so many 148's being sold as original but when you buy one especialy the mk2 they've been screwdrivered to the hilt and subsoquently ebay will be inundated with complaints

  • Nice to see another mint 148 mate- well done !! just wonder where you sourced the blue led for the meter and is there much in swapping it over from the original one ??

  • Nice one Darren......I own a Mk 1 that i've had since '81 still in its "Mint box" thats as new and standard.......and a mk2 that is unused and boxed.....must do a video of them.....a few videos on my page of various "Oldskool classics " I own M8!!.......It's nice to see guys like you ,Cobraman,Cobraworkshopz, and many more keep these "Jems" alive in the new millenium.....Keep the faith alive!!!!.....DAVE(M0OGY)..
