I liked the notion they were all in a coma together but the spaceship idea didn't really work.. If they were going to do something like that they should of ended with the ship crashed on Mars and everyone dead - At least then it would of had a link with the original idea... Still wouldn't be as good... Long live the BBC!
Watching this clip totally took me back to how much I HATED the U.S. ending. A spaceship really. That ending sucked. And as a Lost fan I loved the digs on how people couldn't think after that show.
@TroyCarm um he didn't....in that second as he lay dying from the fall he lives years in the world, the past, purgatory whatever you believe it is. In ashes to ashes it's explained precisely but I prefer the ambiguously happy ending so haven't watched ashes to ashes. The American version was shite I'm sorry to say. Btw greatest nation ever?? Ahem have you heard of the roman empire? Heck the British empire? How in the world does that even relate to life on mars? Objectively the UK version was fa
If you have ABC,NBC,CBS make any kind of shows , they suck bad. I think if this show had been made by HBO, Showtime, Fxnetwork it might have come out better.
The US can make good TV shows but when they remake British ones its just awful.... except the American version of The Office which got good after the first average season.
Yeah.....I wish the Producers of LOM-US would have put in much more thought into a proper ending. However, I don't fault them: I fault the suits at ABC for taking great shows like LOM off the air while keeping "reallity" shit on the air.
So exactly how did the Sam Tyler in the BBC version survive a jump off a high rise to go back into a coma and live in his dreams? At least the American version is possible, credible and more rooted in reality. When you folks can win a war without our help, or be a big player in world politics without our support or build a car with a decent electrical system, then critize the greatest nation to ever grace the face of the Earth. People still dream of coming here, can you say the same??
@thx4077 Because it was in the papers over here for a good while - LOM has a huge fan base over here and alot of us wanted to see how the US was going to deal with a program that is as close to perfection on TV as you can get. And the US didn't disappoint - it was terrible, pure butchery. Personally, I watched it by downloading torrents - glad I did; saved me money that I might have spent on the dvd boxset....and then the added expense of burning it and exorcising the burning area haha !!
I think our clever plan is working. Bring every TV show from the UK and F&(&%$%$ Up as much as possible. You wait and see cant wait for "Dr Who" is going to be called "Dr Who 90210"
this was hilarious. and this is one thing i never thought i'd say in my life: i agree with hitler that the US life on mars was crapola. i never thought i'd agree with hitler.
spaceship in life on mars? Am I missing something, is this supposed to be a joke? When I saw the final Life on Mars it ended with Sam jumping off a building.
They were on the first ever mission to Mars in a virtual reality suite in the 2020s or something, Obama's daughter was President. They thought they would find genetic material to cure cancer on Mars, they called it a Gene Hunt.
All the characters from the virtual reality were real people who Sam had changed in his head, Gene Hunt was Sam's father who he hated, but they flew to Mars together.
The first step on Mars was Gene Hunt's retro shoe.
Just promise they won't try and remake the sequel, "ashes to ashes". they'd probably have to involve fire somehow to get the aforementioned ashes just incase they think people are too dim to get the reference, FFS
I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has loved this video! I didnt know it was going to be such a hit with LOM fans! Thank you all and lets all keep rocking in 1973!!!
no its US makes show that lasts a full series without being canceled so the uk (channel 4) buy the rights to broadcast it in the UK (Unchanged) the UK make a brilliant show that gets so much recognition some twat in america sees it. However he believes the US audience wont understand the cultural differences and slang (we do use alot but all u need to do is fill in the blanks with real time common sense) so this twat in suit decides to spend millions redoin it in their own style and they hate it

I've never had anyone ask me, "Hey, did you catch that new show on BBC last night?"
Hell no!
So why were the British watching this series on ABC? Really. I want to know.

Too bad there wasn't an alternative ending to WWII. Wait, the actual ending wasn't that bad. Maybe an alternative beginning...
Wow, it's hard for a Pole to agree with Hitler, but I'm there on this one.
