@Optimat1000 So true! I remember one particulaNew Year's party (1980? 1981?) which extended to 3 days...Different people came and went, but there was a big group of us that stayed for the duration... I'm pretty sure that some other music was played over those 3 days as well, but Remain in Light was played, from beginning to end, probably about 700 times... :) We just couldn't get enough of it... we were completely mesmerized... Still one of the best albums of all time...
@juliandunn I think it's a way around the song recognition system on YouTube. He took all the audio normally panned to center and made it panned hard, and centered the original stereo image. Like what happens if you solder a headphone cable incorrectly, since the two channels share a conductor. An easier way is to manually record the audio on an external device using only analog connections. See my video of Lake Monona Sunset for an example.
@mpwelk Hey dude, there's some detailed info on my channel page. Also, the tracks are up here not to get around the song recognition system - the audio IS blocked in some countries, but more to show how this method can be used to extract some pretty cool stuff from certain songs/albums/whatever. Thanks for watching!
This version is bad due to a experiment with phase and stero.
Listen to this instead
or search for the other version

thx a million for this amazing version !!!!
fantastic album !!! groovy and tatsy ! Byrne, Eno, Hassel, what a great reunion of talended harbingers... 1980 was an extremely prolific year :
- Brian Eno & David Byrne : my life in the bush of ghosts
- John Hassel/Brian Enol : possible musics
... just perfect ! ;)

May I recommend the book 'A Concise Guide To Eighties' Music' by Karl Vorderman.

@karlvorderman Also read 'Are We Not New Wave?: Modern Pop at the Turn of the 1980s' by Theo Cateforis, which devotes a chapter to this album.

What software do you use to accomplish this? This is very interesting.
cornerstoreradio 1 year ago
@cornerstoreradio anything that can pan the stero tracks hard right and hard left, thus eliminating the center track.

another classic song from the ageless album"remain in light"! in retrospective the record was at least 10-20 years ahead of its time.

It sounds weird/ not as good in once in a lifetime. then houses in motion it sounds just as good as the original, maybe better.
