i'll be testing for my license next month, looks like a nice setup. I dont know what i'm gonna do, live on the 1st floor of a brick apt bldg, guess i'll ask the guys in the local ham club for advice. Do you have a portable radio that you use? thats probably gonna be the 1st kind of radio i get.

right now i have a 2 meter radio i borrowed from a local club and am saving for my own

i also have a tentec HF rig :) (but its out of order right now, something whent array inside...)

Your video brings back that magical thrill I got using my first rig. Doesn't seem very long ago! But it was 1990 I think. for me it was a barrowed HW16 HF/CW rig and an Alinco dual band mobile. I'd love to relive those days again anew!

I passed my foundation test just two weeks ago but i have gone straight onto hf im still saving up for a vhf/uhf fm duelbander because the hf transceiver set me back £400 (the icom 703 plus qrp)I also have six with this radio ..get yourself onto hf O M I would love to have a chat with someone in the USA on hf if you have friend with a hf rig we could give it a try im usually on the phone portion of the 17 metre band best wishes 73 Adrian M6AMR United Kingdom

Looks good Kenwood's sound great! I know i have 3 of the SOB's! got a Icom which doesn't sound as good. Good luck station looks great but you gotta get HF! Dude, you're awesome. I'm almost 17 and I got my license last February. I had a week off of school, the ham meeting was the Thursday before that, and some guy gave me a book (not the newest but it still passed me). My dad and I took the test at the same time so my call is KD8FJI and his is KD8FJJ. We'll have to talk on echolink sometime. I'm gonna go for my general now that the questions are new and you don't have to learn CW.

I also like working the radio as well just sometimes to make more distant contacts that i want to make i use echolink but i'm really not on there much i usually stick to the good ol' fashioned airwaves!!
