@saintpadraig Technically the 3 tribes that settled around there were from Germany, The Celts, Angles, and the Gaels. The Gaels did come from Ireland, but originally they were from Germany anyway.

Thank you Scotts and Irish for making a song about a black haired girl. Blonde is beautiful and it has been considered the epitomy of feminine beauty in Europe for centuries. So it's nice to hear that someone out there appreciated black hair on a woman instead of associating it's darkness with negativity or ugliness. I don't know too many people other than myself who love black hair.

Such an incredible song. I once heard Niamh Parsons sing this live, but with an extra verse that goes like this:
