Hey Andy, would you reccommend a chorus like the small clone or a mistress flanger for a gilmoury tone? the differences between the two types of effects seem near same to me but i have bad hearing compared to your ear for tone
if you're looking for more of a leslie tone go with the soul vibe for or if you have the money get a univibe but if you're looking for a versatile pedal this is a really nice pedal great tone setting at the end
this is a great pedal, fun to fuck around with in the filter matrix mode, sounds gorgeous when linked up to 2 amps, but i wish it had a volume control on it!
What you need to keep in mind when listening to reviews is what gear is being used during the demo. I'm gonna guess that not many people rock 65 amps because they're expensive. This sounds great on many amps I've used it on but just keep in mind the amp's characteristics.
60's band love (Arthur Lee)RIP when he first turns down the flange rate down i know the song but cant remember the name maybe the daily planet but i think i may be wrong?
i think this is the sound i've been looking for...i new what i wanted in a chorus or flanger but couldn't describe it...now i can. Great video, lots of options with this pedal.
That makes no sense,,, Delay effects are used in every form of modern music in one way or another... Alot of the time though subtlety is the key, I think thats where you are trying to make a point...
I see a lot of negative comments here, and while I understand why it's easy to hit the thumbs down button, I do see what dirtypaper is saying. It's not just flangers, chorus, and phasers, it's the way they're used in most band situations. For every subtle player like David Gilmour, or even Hendrix who push the effect only as far as where it compliments the song and remains somewhat transparent, theres enough shitty punk and rock bands that way over do it and ruin the sound for other players. :p
@dirtypaper Awww c'mon man. Don't you think that's just a little narrow minded? If you're creative enough, you could find the right way to use any sound or effect in the world. Just gotta be more open minded to all of them. It's a hard thing to do and, I'm guilty of it too but, you at least have to try. I wonder...what is it about amateur bands that makes you relate them to flangers, choruses and phasers? I'm not sure I understand why you would say that.
This pedal is too groovy! I play experimental/mathrock so this pedal will add some flavor to my rig. The sounds are just waay too interesting, i'd probably spend weeks playing with this thing!
got this pedal over 2 weeks ago, im still loving the sounds coming out of this pedal, highly recomend it to anyone who like the chours/flanger sound together
Quick question, I'd appreciate a response :-) Does anybody who has this or has tried it think that it stands alone as both a good chorus and flanger, or is it intended mainly for blended sounds? Would it be better to go for a separate flanger and chorus (like a small clone for a chorus)?
Small clone. or if you could get your hands on any any of the BOSS pre-CE3 chorus pedals, that would be better. also, if you happen to find a CE2, get it modded by Robert Keeley.
This has a chorus. I assume you're referring to the Deluxe Electric Mistress, which is just a flanger.
Either way, if you're budget conscious, then I'd go with a Small Clone or a Clone Theory. Ideally, I'd go for a Polychours, which is one of the coolest pieces of kit I've ever heard. But it's about thrice as expensive...
The digitech whammy isnt very versatile...but you could replicate most tones like this by using the phaser...I had a digitech whammy for about a week until it just decided to stop working. so if you get one make sure you get the warranty.
An guitar pedal will work with a bass, some better than others. But I have tried this specific pedal with bass, and it sound really awesome. Can be a very trippy sound or a subtle coloration.
would trading in my line 6 liqua-flange for this be a mistake? i've had for about a year and i literally got 1 setting of my liking out of it, and it just sounds too prossed. i was wondering if i just need to spend more time with the liqua-flange to get better sounds
I like the sound of this box but it,s not like the original. what I like about this box is true by pass and it,s stereo.they make great stuff for years.thanks for posting.
too bad the original EM's didn't have the stereo outputs... that would make pink floyd solos that much better. BTW nice reference to brain damage. I dont think I've heard it in Eb though. Awesome!
So what's the hype on this pedal? Guess I'll find out, here I go. Hmm, very bright and nice chorus so far. With Chorus at 3:00 and too much Rate it can be a bit much. I love the setting at video time 2:24! Not to impressed with the Flange though, but then again I've never dug Flange. Wait a sec though, mixing them is kinda cool. The Filter Matrix mode can be useful I guess. Overall it's a pretty cool pedal, thanks again for the demo Andy, your favorite mode is killer sounding!
When you open this pedal you can actually see a little water canal flowing in a circle that goes faster when you turn the rate knob...
