  • When you open this pedal you can actually see a little water canal flowing in a circle that goes faster when you turn the rate knob...

  • brain damage? andy i love you.

  • deja vibe or this pedal?

  • @normalsigara very different

  • actually I don't think it sounds good.

  • and i said fly on my sweet angel.

  • only problem i had with this pedal was that its mains powered only, other than that pretty awesome

  • @Pentatonic12345 unscrew the bottom screws, and find a battery clip

  • Great video. Love the sound of this pedal.

  • Hey Andy, would you reccommend a chorus like the small clone or a mistress flanger for a gilmoury tone? the differences between the two types of effects seem near same to me but i have bad hearing compared to your ear for tone

  • @AM007009 Gilmour used an electric mistress back in the day

  • what is he playing at 2:53?

  • if you're looking for more of a leslie tone go with the soul vibe for or if you have the money get a univibe but if you're looking for a versatile pedal this is a really nice pedal great tone setting at the end

  • Nice sound! ^___^

  • this is a great pedal, fun to fuck around with in the filter matrix mode, sounds gorgeous when linked up to 2 amps, but i wish it had a volume control on it!

  • brain damage!

  • @Waiting7up easily one of my favorite floyd songs!

  • Is this a good pedal JUST for chorus? Like, if I would use it just as a chorus pedal most of the time?

  • @fanofthemusic1090 yes it's very good a chorus pedal! :)

  • @fanofthemusic1090 That's how I use it. I just add a little hint of Flanger (Around 8:30, when it starts to be noticeable) for a different texture

  • play some hendrix... !:(

  • @dnnysrock The opening riff sounded pretty much like Angel to me :)

  • @bioken007

    it was angel

  • what's the song at 3:54?

  • what song does he start playing around 3:15

  • @screwdriva mysterious ways - u2

  • Brain Damage!

  • Do you need a stereo amp for this?

  • @ChaserHUN no, it also works normally

  • Angel to open nice

  • i like the stereo electric mistress better than the normal electric mistress... am i normal?

  • @thebigdiegowski WHERES MY MONEY DIEGOWSKI?!!

  • @thebigdiegowski You pee'd on MY fucking rug!

  • true bypass?

  • this actually sounds closer to the original electric mistress

  • Would the Chorus side be pretty similar to a Small Clone, or quite different?

  • @MiLemonPie Nothing alike.

  • the combination of flanger and chorus is amazing!!

  • love your vids you've got an awsome voice !

  • does anybody know if this is analog or is it an emulation?

  • @UnchainTheNight1 Analog.

  • @ExclaimedMusic

    Wrong, it is digital.

  • @UnchainTheNight1 EHX pedals are analog usually

  • What you need to keep in mind when listening to reviews is what gear is being used during the demo. I'm gonna guess that not many people rock 65 amps because they're expensive. This sounds great on many amps I've used it on but just keep in mind the amp's characteristics.

  • This one I just gotta get.

  • What's the difference between this one and the Deluxe?

  • @nickrella its sstteerreeoo

  • whats the song he plays when he first mixes both effects?

  • @MeanGreenMovies

I think is a ''modern'' version of 'purple haze' by jimi hendrix

  • the lunatic is on the grass..

  • can i get the same tones from a small clone, black label chorus with this one?

  • The Beginning sounds Jimi Hendrix's Angel! Hahahaha. AWESOME PEDAL! :D

  • @huruhara123 it is angel *rolls eyes

  • do you think you could get "And the cradle will rock" style of flange out of this?

  • do you think you could get "And the cradle will rock" style of flange out of this?

  • Jimi's sound is really great, you just can't beat that

  • is it good with distortion?

  • can you use this for bass?

  • Hi Andy :)

  • Brain Damage!

  • 1:35 daily planet!!

  • analog right?

  • no its digital but it doesnt mean that it sucks your tone

  • really great pedal...if i'm not wrong the first song is angel by jimy hendrix..right?

  • @Verridellachiena Yep andy certainly is.

  • sounds like he is playing a song by the

60's band love (Arthur Lee)RIP when he first turns down the flange rate down i know the song but cant remember the name maybe the daily planet but i think i may be wrong?

  • Sounds nice and vintage the lunitic is in my head....hahahahaha

  • i think this is the sound i've been looking for...i new what i wanted in a chorus or flanger but couldn't describe it...now i can. Great video, lots of options with this pedal.

  • Brain Damage by pink floyd

  • im willing to bet good money that Billy Corgan and J Mascis have used these before, i away to get one!! haha

  • J. Mascis used the Deluxe Electric Mistress, of Corgan I am not sure

  • brrrr, i don't like flangers choruses and phasers, always reminds me of amateur bands.

  • That makes no sense,,, Delay effects are used in every form of modern music in one way or another... Alot of the time though subtlety is the key, I think thats where you are trying to make a point...

  • @dirtypaper, would you call then Pink Floyd amateur?

  • Yeah sure... like the cure for example?

    pfff fuck off.

  • I see a lot of negative comments here, and while I understand why it's easy to hit the thumbs down button, I do see what dirtypaper is saying. It's not just flangers, chorus, and phasers, it's the way they're used in most band situations. For every subtle player like David Gilmour, or even Hendrix who push the effect only as far as where it compliments the song and remains somewhat transparent, theres enough shitty punk and rock bands that way over do it and ruin the sound for other players. :p

  • @dirtypaper Awww c'mon man. Don't you think that's just a little narrow minded? If you're creative enough, you could find the right way to use any sound or effect in the world. Just gotta be more open minded to all of them. It's a hard thing to do and, I'm guilty of it too but, you at least have to try. I wonder...what is it about amateur bands that makes you relate them to flangers, choruses and phasers? I'm not sure I understand why you would say that.

  • does this pedal have internal trim pots for anything like volume or something of that sort?

  • This pedal is too groovy! I play experimental/mathrock so this pedal will add some flavor to my rig. The sounds are just waay too interesting, i'd probably spend weeks playing with this thing!

  • 3:17 baby making music!

  • i really wan this n the big muff i want that pumpkins sound

  • got this pedal over 2 weeks ago, im still loving the sounds coming out of this pedal, highly recomend it to anyone who like the chours/flanger sound together

  • soppping wet...mmmmmmmmmmm

  • little brother to the DEM, dont u mean

    little sister? ;-)

  • is it true bypass?

  • No.

  • i think all electro harmonix pedals are true bypass. it has the same switch that most true bypass pedals have. i couyld be wrong

  • @TheRealErob this one it's not true bypass

  • It is a hendrix song its called angel.

  • Stunningly good pedal this, very high on my list, that leslie tone is superb for such a cheap pedal!

  • haha that exactly what i thought

  • lookin forward to gettin this one...

  • ......the lunatic is in my head.....

    great sounds

  • Quick question, I'd appreciate a response :-) Does anybody who has this or has tried it think that it stands alone as both a good chorus and flanger, or is it intended mainly for blended sounds? Would it be better to go for a separate flanger and chorus (like a small clone for a chorus)?

  • Not tryin to be rude but if you watch the video at 1:15 it answers your question.

  • this flanger hasn't a color control?

  • nice job on jimi in the intro XD

  • when i grow up i wanna be like andy

  • Anyone know a great chorus that compliments the electric mistress well?

  • The Visual Sound Chorus is great!

Watch their demos of it. Its cool, they compare other and blind test it infront of a crowd..

    Pretty cool!

  • Small clone. or if you could get your hands on any any of the BOSS pre-CE3 chorus pedals, that would be better. also, if you happen to find a CE2, get it modded by Robert Keeley.

  • i have the ce2 and its amazing

  • This has a chorus. I assume you're referring to the Deluxe Electric Mistress, which is just a flanger.

Either way, if you're budget conscious, then I'd go with a Small Clone or a Clone Theory. Ideally, I'd go for a Polychours, which is one of the coolest pieces of kit I've ever heard. But it's about thrice as expensive...

  • 3:15 sounds like mysterious ways by u2, but he's playing it in minor key. hm...

  • 4:28 lullaby from hell

  • 2:18 Brain Damage. You are a great guitar player, Andy.....

  • i already have a boss phaser and i can get flangy tones out of it should i buy this or the digitech whammy as my next pedal?

  • THIS.

  • Totally agree. And get rid of all other BOSS pedals u own...i'm sure every one sucks :)

  • The digitech whammy isnt very versatile...but you could replicate most tones like this by using the phaser...I had a digitech whammy for about a week until it just decided to stop working. so if you get one make sure you get the warranty.

  • awesome pedal.

But .. does anyone knows if works on bass ?

  • you can use any guitar pedal for bass

  • An guitar pedal will work with a bass, some better than others. But I have tried this specific pedal with bass, and it sound really awesome. Can be a very trippy sound or a subtle coloration.

  • can you get the polychrus feedback sound out of this?

  • Haha, that's my default setting right there at 5:05!! =O

It's the best sounding pedal I've found for my bass style =)

  • this would be good for the cure a forest was that zz top thank you

  • does this use the same power supply as the nano small stone

  • Yes it does.

  • this may sound stupid but was that angel by hendrix in the begginin?

  • yeaaaaaaaa

  • would trading in my line 6 liqua-flange for this be a mistake? i've had for about a year and i literally got 1 setting of my liking out of it, and it just sounds too prossed. i was wondering if i just need to spend more time with the liqua-flange to get better sounds

  • electric mistress all the way

  • I would get the original deluxe electric mistress, you have much more control over the sound

  • sounds like Hendrix :D

    Great pedal

  • yeah it sounds like he's trying to imitate a univibe/rotovibe sound

  • think he was playing the hendrix like a rolling stone

  • i have a boss chorus, is it worth getting this too? or just a flanger, (for van halen)

  • Right around 2:55 it sounds a bit like tape flanging. This might be the pedal I've been looking for.

  • I like the sound of this box but it,s not like the original. what I like about this box is true by pass and it,s stereo.they make great stuff for years.thanks for posting.

  • BRAIN DAMAGE!!!!!!!

Another Song I Want Meh Band To Cover lol

  • Yeah im feeling that Pink Floyd

  • is this analog or digital???

  • how does it sound

    thats the most important

  • digital, according to the manual you can download at the ehx site

  • the first riff was "angel" by jimi

  • What's the last song Andy plays?

  • what is he playing at 3:16 ??

    that sounds so awesome!!

  • Nice variety of tones, the flange chorus mix adds even more tones.

  • What is the new amp going to be?

  • Fender Deluxe Reverb - but apparently they're sold out - just give em time to record the new one =)

  • too bad the original EM's didn't have the stereo outputs... that would make pink floyd solos that much better. BTW nice reference to brain damage. I dont think I've heard it in Eb though. Awesome!

  • A M A Z I N G

  • 2:18 - the lunatic is in the grass..

  • yes! brain damage...awesome

  • Yeeeah! haha

  • is this analog??

  • So what's the hype on this pedal? Guess I'll find out, here I go. Hmm, very bright and nice chorus so far. With Chorus at 3:00 and too much Rate it can be a bit much. I love the setting at video time 2:24! Not to impressed with the Flange though, but then again I've never dug Flange. Wait a sec though, mixing them is kinda cool. The Filter Matrix mode can be useful I guess. Overall it's a pretty cool pedal, thanks again for the demo Andy, your favorite mode is killer sounding!

  • hello who this would compare against the deluxe version thanks

  • The pedal sounds good.. but why would you have need it.. your first riff sounded amazing.

  • chorus? wtf??

  • It sounds like there are two rates going on at once. So cool.

  • man, I think I love EVERYTHING Electro Harmonix has!

  • it sounds like it's underwater. not a bad thing either.

  • When are you guys gonna start to do demos with the Fender Deluxe Reverb reissue. Great review by the way. I really want this.

  • Yay! Thanks guys

  • I already have one of those things. Fancy little device. Although I am looking to get the Deluxe Electric Mistress.
