  • WTH!? Even then they were plagued with crappy imported toys from CHINA!!!

  • Prof. Grampy was MacGyver's great-grandfather!

  • And, by 1944, Max Fleischer no longer HAD a studio; Paramount foreclosed on it in January 1942- after the dismal box office failure of "Mr. Bug {Hoppity} Goes To Town"- turning it into "Famous Studios", and kicking all the Fleischer brothers out. Max was working for Jam Handy in Detroit, helping him produce animated "commercial" and industrial films, while Dave was "supervising producer" at Columbia's "Screen Gems" animation unit in Hollywood.

  • d'awww, the puppy alarm clock is the cutest alarm clock ever. Where can I find one?

  • I want to download this!!! :(

    where?

  • Does anyone know what the children sing at the end?? the words?? please and thank you! =)

  • I believe this very cartoon is what contributed to the creativity I have today. When I was little, my favorite thing about watching this is how he makes all these things out of random items around the house.

  • this was my favorite christmas cartoon!!!!

  • Grampy's only Technicolor cartoon without Betty Boop.

  • @TeamRocket2010 And BTW was that dog at the beginning Pudgey?

  • This brings back a lot of memories. I have not seen this is over 20 years!!!! Thank you for uploading this 2 youtube!!!!!

  • I haven't seen this in 10 years. Still makes me cry.

  • This was made in a time where many people would actually care for those in need. It's sad that those times are over.

  • what is that sad song player playing at 00:25

  • @Alxmir23 the first noel

  • This was back when cartoons were good.....all theres left is shit now. Fucking flapjack

  • The kids' toys were made in China. That's why they broke.

  • @DDRmania195 You mean they were made in AMERICA, that's why they broke :P

  • Best. Alarm. Clock. Ever.

  • It's going to sound horrilbe, but when I was like 5 years old. I didn't know these kids were in an orphanage and I use to laugh when the kids toys were braking especially the Teddy Bear.

But, then when I found out I started feeling bad for them.:(

My favorite part of this is when the guy makes things out of the kitchen wear.lol

  • I will beat the pure crap out of those people who gave them these broken up toys

  • I am just tickled pink to find this video! I always thought that grampy was pretty darn "green" for his time (reduce, recycle, REUSE).

  • I am just tickled pink to find this video!

  • I started to tear up when I finally found this!!! Does Anyone remember a movie with 2 little kids that licked candy?!!!

  • @Motegimr22

I think it might be called "Somewhere in Dreamland". Look it up on here, it's sad too. IT's about two kids who are poor and they are looking at food in the windows, then they Dream of living in a land of food. But when they wake up people got together and made them a feast. I love that cartoon also.

  • I always rememberd bits and pieces of this from watching it as a child. I started to cry when I found this!! I never thought id find it, thank you!!!

  • This cartoon has ALWAYS made me cry, even now when I'm 24! Prof. Grampy saves Christmas for those poor kids. This cartoons always reminds me to be grateful for what I have, and to not act like a spoiled brat. Younger kids today could learn something from these old cartoons!

  • The Fleischer boys loved inventions and Max Fleischer has many inventions to his credit, including the rotoscope-which enabled animators to trace live-action footage for some scenes. They had a special fondness for creative types like Grampy, who was in many later Betty Boop cartoons.

  • am having a great time tonight watching old Christmas cartoons! thanks for this!

  • I used to watch this every Christmas. Brings great memories!

  • I always wondered how they achieved those animation effects in these types of cartoons. Also this particular cartoon always reminded me of how good I had it when I was a kid!

  • I love classic cartoons like this, they remind me of when they used to show GOOD cartoons on cartoon network.

  • My granny had a Betty Boop video that i watched everytime i spent the night or went for a visit. Then one day i got a Christmas VHS with differnt cartoons and saw this one on there. I couldn't remember where i had seen Grampy and it was on that Betty Boop video my granny had. So i would take this every year with me over to her house and watch it together with the family on Christmas Day.

  • Thanks for posting. What a great cartoon.

  • I've aspired my entire life to be as cool as Professor Grampy is someday.

  • @NewEvo did u become a professor grampy yet? i agree, he had an awesome loving talent

  • This always made me feel bad, every Christmas I watch this and think about how lucky I am!

  • i want to be as cool as grampy when i'm an old man.

  • This cartoon is actually from 1936, By 1944, Max & Dave Fleischer were no longer working together, while 1944 audiences would have been shocked seeing Grampy waste all that precious material when there was a war going on.

  • I thought this looked familiar! this is still my favorite cartoon!
