  • That girl (yes girl) sounds like she's crying while she's talking.

  • THANK GOD FOR AUTOMATION.

I don'ts wants hairs and dirt in mah cheeeese.

  • Is that little kid a boy or a girl?

  • Ohhh yeah! I remember this...and my young love for cheese!

  • This is the same place that was on Dirty Jobs!

  • Oh my good Goddess in Heaven, THAT`S what Little Miss Muffett was eating?!

  • Is it me or did the kid start out looking like a boy and then suddenly turn into a girl at the end?

Never underestimate the power of cheese...apparently.

  • 3:02 I seem to recall that Colby has a stronger yellow colour, j/w

  • Tasty

  • This is one of my faves from Sesame Street!! Anyone know where I can find the one where they shear the sheep and make the wool into yarn?

  • geez that kid sounds depressed2

  • 17 Jan 1977 this came on ss along with little house on the prairie Quarantine.

  • Yuck a fly in the milk.

  • does anyone know which episode of sesame street this is from?

  • The fleck in the milk at 0:07 always bothered me.

  • @malibuvelouria Me too.

  • i remember this one! oh, the memories... thanks! :-)

  • I didn't know Bob Moss could make cheese

  • @wizardsofclay Bob ROSS you fool.

  • what happens to all that whey?

  • It gets drained out.

  • If you'll pardon the expression, this whole skit was pretty ""cheese"-y".

  • @DanaAbel30 hehehehhe

  • Kid looks like a boy at the beginning and then a girl at the end. Isn't cheese amazing?

  • I always wanted to make cheese because of this. It looked like sooo much fun.

  • @Joekitteh LOL Me too!!!

  • this is my faaaaaaaaaaavorite.

  • which episode is this? My daughter is crying until i find this particular one.

  • Same cheese factory was on Dirty Jobs

  • That guy in 0:36 should be wearing a hair & beard net!

  • @stevenscottoddballz Hair & beard nets in a small country dairy back in the early 70s? Heck, I'm suprised they're wearing shirts!

  • @quirpco

Hmm...I didn't take the YEAR into account. Good answer. We've come QUITE a ways.

Hmm...I'm hungry now. I'm going to have a grilled ham & swiss on rye!

  • @stevenscottoddballz lol - sounds good! Watch for whiskers in that swiss.

  • So what is what Curds and way is mystery solved.

  • "Curds and whey", is basically what COTTAGE CHEESE is made from.

  • I wish I could have some of that cheese. What kind of cheese is it?

  • and then the teletubbies say "AGAIN! Again Again!"

  • I really should be going.

  • I remember this one!

Very nice job! Keep up the great work! Thanks for posting! A++++++++

Have a great night, a great day tommorrow, a great night tommorrow, a great week, a great weekend, a great winter, a great month, a Happy New Year and a Happy New Decade! All the best in 2010 and beyond! Puerto Rican Love from New York City!

  • so THIS is what charles manson did before he started doing that other thing...

  • WOW! I have been looking for this video. I remember this when I was a kid. Those 2 men should be wearing hair & beard nets when working with food products. The 2 women look great with the bandana's on there heads and the only thing they need to go along with them is overalls! I too like all the other videos on recycling paper, bottles, and how crayons are made.

  • Someone should have told that hippie to wear a hairnet

  • For cheese, the reason why there are holes in Swiss cheese, is because it's injected with a bacteria that produces bubbles of CO2, and when somebody touches the cheeses, the bubbles become holes.

  • I always thought this skit was kinda ""cheese"-y", if you'll pardon the expression.

  • wow that kid looks happy. *coughsarcasimcough*

  • I remember this one, and I was born after 1980. I don't remember the Chinese noodle one, though! Does anyone have a list of these? I think they are excellent. I remember the crayon, the apple cider, and the cheese but am sure there were others.

  • travellingincog :There is also videos on youtube of recycling cans and making paper.

  • Hope they don't sneeze while they're doing that.

  • I think your better off with Bathtub cheese, then this stuff! Please Google Bathtub cheese. Its illegal to sell, but you can make it.

  • Another well intention Sesame Street short film from the 70's that had the opposite effect: every time this aired I wouldn't eat cheese for like a week.

  • I don't remember this one, they must have stopped airing it around 1980 or so... maybe because of the hygiene issue?

  • I agree with you Hadra568, this kid does sounds terrified. What year was this from?

  • the narrator kid sounds terrified

  • I miss seeing the one where they make Chinese noodles.

  • The woman at 2:30 looks like she either belongs to a cult or a statue in some kind of creepy exhibit

  • Haha its a girlll. but cool. and

Whey is not usless like they used to think. You use it now in working out, its not a steroid but muscle growth supplement healthy cow stuff!

  • I LIKE CHOCOLATE MILK!

  • I used to pretend to do this with the sand in my sandbox if it was wet. Id pretend i was putting the cottage cheese into a mold (bucket) lol

  • i used to take a finger nail brush and comb it across the surface of the bath water, pretending to make cheese as a kid XD

  • Wow, I remember watching this over 20 years ago 0.o;

  • I know. Same here. 0.o

  • Let's take the hairiest guy and have him prepare food with no hairnet, no beard net, nothing. Is that what gives cheese it's magical flavor?

  • lol. . . i think he looks like charels manson. although remind me never to eat cheese from there they dident wear gloves and they used a wodden ake to move the cheese around!

  • @eight6sevenfive3oh9 So THAT explains the hairs in my cheese!

  • @eight6sevenfive3oh9 Funny as hell.

  • @eight6sevenfive3oh9 no gloves either

  • I like how there's either a fly or dirt in the milk when the guy's milking the cow :(

  • cow's way or waste forms the curds?

  • its whey

  • In the nursery rhyme of Little Miss Muffet, the "curds and whey" is basically cottage cheese.

  • rennet is calf and sheep stomach linings

  • it looked more like the consistency of water that they were pouring in when they said it was rennet...I wonder how it gets from a lining of stomach to that watery stuff?

  • It's the digestive juices extracted from the stomach.

  • Yes that is a girl at the end.

  • I remember my sister and I would fight all day about if she was a boy or girl. LOL.

  • tpirman 1982,You're right this is from 1971.

  • I thought it was Swiss Chess

  • Yes this is a girl, she is wearing a pink turtleneck at the end of this video and that was a very popular hairstyle for girls during that time

  • It's a boy. He is helping them make the cheese.

  • I'm guessing that's American Cheese at the end?

  • That sounds like a girl ?

I think the boy in this film was believed to be born 1963.

  • Why does this little girl sound like she is crying while she is speaking?

  • It's a boy. He is watching the dude make the cheese.

  • GOSH is this from like 1975 or something?

    Candles are made is Mr.Rogers.

  • Anyone have the "how candles are made" film from Sesame Street?

  • I don't think that's any of your "beeswax". Ha, ha, ha!!! Get it?? Because candle wax is made from bees??

  • This was one of my favorite shorts on sesame street!

  • oh my goodness! i totally remember this thing! i can't believe it's on here. thanks for the post.

  • As I mentioned before the kid at the end probably had dierhea for weeks since no one was using gloves.

  • I watched a more recent (non-Sesame Street) version of how cheese is made and apparently, they still don't! =P
