another great song that reminds me of mark and lard, you notice a lot of people on here being reminded of those two because of great songs I wonder how many comments like that there are about the drivel on Radio 1 now
Totally under-rated song, under-rated band. BBR, Luke Haines has so much to offer. What we hear now in pop music pales in comparison, generally. I miss those days.
I remember when this came out (1999 if memory serves) thinking it had to be the most perfect pop song ever.It charted lowly then went and that was it, while the general public continued to buy complete bilge.I thought maybe i'd just imagined this song, but sadly no.It was the start of a long downward spiral to what qualifies as "music" today.Unfortunately,I fear we haven't even reached the halfway point of said spiral yet. Oh dear.
@adzthejuggler123 It was 2000. I know because I was 11 at the time... I'm not a boy, but it still stuck out at the time! Shame it never charted very highly...
A lot of nostalgia attached to this song for me :)
Why the hell couldn't I have a teacher like that at school. I would of boned her at break time, My teacher was old and a proper bitch lol. Now i think that the facts of life.
Heard this on Mark And Lard's last show on radio 1 that I stumbled across the other day. I kinda knew the tune from years back but never paid much attention to it. It's got me hooked now. Absolutely fantastic.
Well it's not on the "The Facts Of Life" single it's on "The Art Of Driving" single. And also on "The Worst Of.." album. The fact that is called "Chocolate Layers remix" confused me. Time to find that album.
I guess it´s on the single. But it´s also on the Worst of Black Box Recorder album. Jarvis made the remix under the name of Chocolate Layers. Anyway this is a brilliant song!
I wish they'd never broken up - well at least not until I'd had a chance to watch them play live.

this is perhaps one of the most cerebral songs to come out of pop music ever. Jarvis Cocker's remix of this song is unparalleled.
