yea cause occupying the whole country and shutting down the ports and stores is democracy? I dont understand what you guys are protesting about. I could understanding the out of control spending, high gas, or high food prices or even high tuition fees but this... this is a mess no offense. and just saying im not republican nor democrat im me.. i believe in small gov and not to be dependent on others but be independent.
@peaceluvr1110 easy they basically talk about 1% and 99% taxes i care less about that, what i like to see is them protesting about that and our education which i think everyone knows it kinda sucks. the E.P.A needs to ease up on the regulations and that too the regulations need to be less. but yea the day i hear them protest about the high prices of gas food and etc and the wastefull spending then i can agree.. just saying
@heroblue15 You didn't even know what they were protesting about in your last post, so how can you possibly know that they're not protesting those things!?!?!
Last year I was 18 years old with only a GED and no college diploma. After about 4 days of searching for work I was hired by a major insurance company and offered a job. Now I make close to $68 grand a year. No my mommy and daddy aren't owners of the company, they're actually flat broke. It just shows if you actually try to get a job, you will. All you OWS are just lazy and that's the truth. You think because you have a masters degree you're entitled to a 250k a year job.
@Slayvemast0r Dude....first of all you are ONE person, and I'm sure there are a lot more like you, but not nearly as many as there are people who aren't just that lucky. Have you ever seen a poor person standing on the side of the road with nothing at all, but the clothes they're wearing? Those are the unlucky ones. Even us 99%s aren't heard by the big corporations. They don't care about us. Only about cash cash cash. Also, that's not even the whole point of OWS. There are many reasons for it.
@peaceluvr1110 I'm not lucky, I actually busted my ass to get where I am now. I didn't walk into job interviews demanding to be paid $100k. I started off at the bottom and worked my way up, eventually I got to where I am now. I wasn't given any handouts or just given a $68k salary, I work REAL hard to get paid that. Anyone in America can make money, it just depends on how motivated you are. No one is entitled to care about you, start working for yourself and be your own man.
@Slayvemast0r It kind of depends on your job. It's harder in different jobs to make money, Also, do you think we have such a horrible economy right now because some people are to lazy to get a job(and you claimed they were to lazy, not me)? Do you know how low a teachers pay is? But somebody has to teach! Do you know how high tuition is? But how are ids going to get jobs if they can't afford education? Do you know how many people are getting fired? Guess why? CORPORATIONS!!!!!
@peaceluvr1110 You brought up some good points, but do you know why tuition costs are high or why people get fired? It's not because of corporations it's because of government interference. Watch "Waiting for superman" to fully understand our education system in the US and why it's failing. As for companies firing employees it's because of government regulation and taxation. You guys should be protesting against Washington DC, they're the real crooks.
@Slayvemast0r Okay, thanks. I'm sorry, but I'm honestly done arguing over this with you now. (nothing against you, i'm just a little tired of this conversation)
Those shouting, "This is what democracy looks like," need to learn the difference between a democracy and a republic. The United States Government is a Constitution based Republic. They teach you in public schools that the US is a democracy because they don't want you to know the truth. Call it what you will - democracy, fascism or communism... it's all the same. Governments ruling people rather than people ruling government. You are playing right into their hands, poor souls. EDUCATE YOURSELF
@CuriousGeorgeMonkey9 Slaves? Really? Do you even know what that word means? Did you know that the "1%" you talk about pay 40% of ALL federal income taxes? Add the next 9% earners and the combined top 10% pay 70% of ALL federal income taxes. Did you also know that these "greedy" rich people are also responsible for providing the majority of JOBS in this country? That makes those greedy rich corporations and rich investors the reason most of us have any money in our pockets or get to own stuff.
@globalmonkey007 Oh, sure. The rich are the victims of the poor and middle class. You're absolutely right.
I don't care whether the 1% pays 100% of the federal income taxes in America. They have no right to control our government and use it as a means of robbing the 99% in order to bail out their companies. Just because they word hard and create jobs doesn't mean that they can control the country. It's a government of the people, by the people, for the people.
@CuriousGeorgeMonkey9 Where did I say the 1% were victims of the poor and middle class? You're right that the Obama administration bailed out GM and Chrysler (which I agree was wrong and stupid), but where were the 99% "robbed" exactly? The TARP program that bailed out the big banks in '08 has been paid back with interest by the banks (and is on track to actually make a profit for the government). Maybe you'd like to share examples of how you've been robbed (I'm assuming you're part of the 99%).
@globalmonkey007 The OWS movement does not consist of a bunch of envious poor and middle-class citizens who want to steal from the rich. We understand how the 1% has provided this country with jobs and many other opportunities. We just want large corporations and banks to stay out of our government. Big banks and the Fed own America.
Who was repaid? Was everyone who contributed to the bailouts paid back? No. My tax money was used to bail out the large corporations. I was robbed by the 1%
@globalmonkey007 Large labor unions should also stay out of government. However, it is also the government's duty to protect the rights of the worker.
I can't trace my taxpayer dollars back to large corporations. It's rather silly of you to expect me to know their names. However, our government did use taxpayer money to bail out the large corporations. Furthermore, the taxpayers were never paid back.
"The Large Corporations" is a boogeyman. For instance, Apple is one of the biggest corporations in the world. Did THEY rob you of your money? If you can't name even one, that speaks volumes to the weakness of your argument.
"Furthermore, the taxpayers were never paid back." -CuriousGeorgeMonkey9
Since when are your tax dollars ever paid back? You weren't forced to pay extra money for special "bail out taxes" so why would you expect extra money back? NOT a good point.
@globalmonkey007 First of all, I would like to thank you for re-quoting me for the one-hundredth time.
Second of all, I am referring to large corporations and banking institutions such as Fanny Mae, Freddy Mac, General Motors, Goldman Sachs, and AIG. They got bailed out, and the 99% got sold out.
Third of all, of course the 99% should be repaid. The Constitution never gives the government the right to take tax dollars and use it to save banks and corporations it's in bed with.
@CuriousGeorgeMonkey9 1st: You're welcome. 2nd: Goldman Sachs and AIG were under TARP -- again, all paid back. General Motors? Again, bad Obama administration idea. FannieMae and Freddie Mac? They are both GSEs. 3rd: Unfortunately, Congress spends our taxes how they choose. The billions wasted (more $ than the bailouts) on the idiotic "Department of Education" since Carter's administration created it in 1980 has been a black hole for taxes and it's only made our schools worse. Occupy THAT.
@globalmonkey007 I'm a teacher. I understand how much the government has screwed up our public education system, and in my opinion, the DoE should be abolished. Everything they've done is unconstitutional.
Second of all, the OWS movement's ideals are not set in stone. Some of the protesters want educational reform, but the main ideals of the movement are to end the large influence banks and corporations have on our government. Is that too much to ask for? It's time to pay back the taxpayers!
@CuriousGeorgeMonkey9 Well, good luck to you Don. You, Sancho and the Occupiers can go open a giant can of whoop-ass on those windmills. Let me know how that pans out for you. Thanks for the interesting discussion.
@globalmonkey007 and they are silencing cures and technology because many are shareholders in big pharm and fossil fuels. In Canada the gov. blatantly said so.Their behavior is gross negligence with intent as far as I see it.
"I'm also assuming that you are a member of the 99%. Therefore, I do not understand your continued support for the 1%." -CuriousGeorgeMonkey9
Even though I'm in the bottom 50%, I support the top 1% because they are the backbone of this country. They worked the hardest and risked the most to earn their fortunes and they deserve what their hard work payed off. They provide the majority of jobs and opportunity for the rest of us. We should thank them, NOT demonize them.
@SouthronComfort As the republic was founded, those who had the power to vote were rich, white, landowning, males, and the only federal political position they could vote for was in the House of Representatives. All other officials were appointed as a despot would appoint his royal court. Life wasn´t so good back then if you weren´t a white, male, aristocrat. Within states other affiliations, mostly religious, were discriminated against. I don´t suppose you are promoting that societal framework?
Already the spirit is waning.....as the corrupt souls that forced our hand sit perched atop their balconies with smiles of contempt feeding off of our animosity and pain we have started the motion that can topple them from lofty thrones and deliver them asunder to the fate they have created for all of us. We CANNOT become complacent .. We've glimpsed the power of an untainted democracy.. Open yourselves to the truth and keep an watchful eye.
@SouthronComfort Quite the dumbest republic talking point I hear too often. A Republic is where 1% can take away the rights of the 99%. If you look at the function of the General Assemblies, they are not carried out by vote, it is done by consensus basis. This prevents the tyranny of the 51%. Besides there isn't a single person that calls for that. Assume that all calls for Democracy include guaranteed minority representation and rights. I could just as easily accuse a republic of the same.
@SouthronComfort Yes, Franklin did say that. Our country is both a republic and a democracy.
Take the time to learn about a topic before you do something as easy as criticize those who do something as difficult as stand up for what they believe.
I want to get the occupy movement to focus on fair taxes. I do not care what or how you pay or don't pay taxes but if you are not paying 1% of your net worth you are not paying your share. I say the movement should be focusing on 1% for the 1%.
@SouthronComfort Nice side step. You're still wrong. The U.S. is a democracy. If they scare you, it's only because you don't know any better. Hang out with them, you'll meet nice people and may even find yourself chanting with them.
People don't understand that it is the doctrine of constitutionalism and the principle of judicial review as established by Marbury v. Madison that preserves our constitutional rights as against intrusion by the government. Whether we are a direct or representative democracy has very little to do with it. Where did this "democracy is mob rule" crap ever begin? Adam Kokesh? People need to read deTocqueville!
@SouthronComfort If you're living in the U.S., YOU'RE IN A DEMOCRACY. I'm sick of people patronizingly telling others that the US is not a democracy. They claim that the USA is a constitutional republic as if that negated the people's right and duty to seek redress. You don't come off as superior, you come off like a dick. It demonstrates ignorance. Because while the USA is, in fact, a constitutional republic, it is also a representative democracy. The two aren't mutually exclusive! Read a book.
the prostiticians know this. they wallpaper over it in the mistaken assumption We The People do not know. they want to suck every last dime out of us, and pass as many "BigBrother" bullshit laws to control us before the shi* hits the fan.
why isn't THE FED in jail? asshole PROSTITICIANS fix "the problem",
T.Jefferson (1809)-"I believe the banking institutions more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up and deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people,to whom it properly belongs."
We are many - they are few.... so exciting to see how many are awakening & peacefully standing up & saying no more - enough is enough... It's time their agenda for harm to the people & this planet to be abolished...
This nations needs a second non-violent American revolution. My problem with "Occupy" is that there appears to be no agenda. Revolution is going to happen only with genuine inteligent unified action. While avoiding the economic extreems of socialism and unregulated free market commercialism and of liberalism and consevitism. The 99% percent is to large and powerful to not come up with better more creative solutions. Don't just "Occupy Everything" come up with real solutions and actions
@SouthronComfort@SouthronComfort I feel you ... The Democracy part of the song was suppose to show what happens with a democracy ... Shit gets screwed up.. We didn't edit the video persuasive enough to project that but I completely get what your saying ... The word Democracy doesn't appear in our constitution. Maybe our next song can be more of an educational song rather than just a song about what is going on.. Peace Bricks
Video is awesome. Song is awful guys, sort it out - you didn't even use the decent vocoder (listen to any NY electro song 1983-87, man parrish, freestyle express etc.)
@SouthronComfort Yeah we agree with you, but chanting "Constitutional Republic" just sounds awkward. So consider the use of "democracy" poetic license.
@SolidarityMusic - Forget that Poetic License angle. The words Constitutional Republic need to be said loud and often. To dispense with it because one is of the opinion it sounds awkward is dubious at best. In fact, it sounds fantastic!
@SolidarityMusic - For the purposes of the song or something similar the word Constitutional can be dropped. Saying The Republic nor A Republic will work just fine.
"Mic check!" "Mic check!" So awesome to hear the people being their own amplifiers!! "Turn on to what you are! Tune in to transcendent love, to God, to the truth, to the immaculate organizing intelligence of life - The Way! Drop out of anything not in harmony with the Way, the Truth and Love - Rules, laws, cultural norms ... institutions all have a way of ... imprisoning your true will." - Garret LoPorto's latest message.
Whether you support the Occupy movement or not, you have to acknowledge the blatant disregard for American civil liberties. Police should be protecting people, not the richest 1%.
I can't believe this doesn't have more views - it's easily among the best videos I've seen, and while I don't usually like this sort of music, it would be impossible for me to dislike this song.
I project this video at 95,000 views tomorrow! You Dj's killed it! THANK YOU SO MUCH, WE ' LL be hearing you soon!!!!!!!!!!!! <3 93 528hz jtronique pro DJ #occupyboston, #occupyfreeNRG
@Jtronique man, it barely moved past 1,000 in a week! needs views.. It's a sleeper hit! (I actually don't really like the song, but the words are cool)
It's easy to comment one to each other since we can make a dialog. None like so to politicians and governments. Answering and trying to change people minds is useless, because this 'goverment' problem is rising all over the planet, and people want to annihilate their governments and multi billionaires people. Only brutal force will change it (It works for the government). Here is a video that I'm sure that everyone will like except Obama-
Great video!! Show the world what Real Democracy looks like! The1% don't have a clue!

The police are a part of the 99%, but so long as they serve and protect the 1%, they are our enemies!

TheEleutherios 3 months ago

@SouthronComfort @SouthronComfort I feel you ...

SolidarityMusic 4 months ago 13
@SolidarityMusic - Forget that Poetic License angle. The words Constitutional Republic need to be said loud and often. To dispense with it because one is of the opinion it sounds awkward is dubious at best. In fact, it sounds fantastic!
webmail2112 4 months ago
