Higgins is fucking outstanding and raw and real and it is a shame we won't hear him so fiercely and passionately uncensored during his actual presidency. That would be far more radical than having a homosexual in that role, which was the next best alternative. In the stinking depths of the foul shit that Ireland is in right now, it is inspiring and necessary to have this rough diamond as our president, to continue the quality work of his two predecessors, with which Ireland has been blessed.

The problem with people like Graham is that they are so far ingrained into the right that this kind of talk becomes necessary. Michael D., though his tone is fierce, is the level head in this debate. Universal healthcare is not a revolutionary thing. It's a perfectly normal and humane thing to do. The scare-mongering opposition to it on the (fanatical/deluded) right in America deserves this kind of rebuke.
