  • Preciosa.

  • she was amazing

  • Sexy sexy lucy.

  • True talent.

  • This resembles hula as much as root beer resembles Guiness!

  • @violinhudi do you mean they are both delicious?

  • There's no mistaking the sleazy, tawdry undertone to this scene - quite a difference from the Lucille Ball of "I Love Lucy"!

  • She could really shake that pelvis!! I want to see more of her dancing!

  • Just a little white girl in a little grass skirt in a little stage set in Los Angeles...

  • I love Lucy.

    But this is creepy.

  • Wow, awesome, thanks so much! Love it!

  • what what this clip from?

  • @peaceandquiet4u Wow. Read the video comment.

  • @TheMuffinBurgler opps lol XD

  • That guy was very creepy

  • I stand corrected I am surprised how very sexual code approved movie, not as restrictive as I had imagined. Thanks

  • WOW she was a knock out! This is definitely pre-code.

  • @ThurstonHunger The code came in 1934, this movie came in 1940.

  • Ei! She has the best hips ever!

  • What's with the guy's beady eyes? Yikes! What a lascivious look. Not what I would consider a wholesome look at the past.

  • OH LUCY IS PRETTY!!

  • Lucy sure can dance good!

  • That "little dude" is Maria Ouspenskaya

  • Hmm...I just realized the little guy isn't a dude...

  • Those two dudes added a real 'Twin Peaks' touch to the scene. Lucy was a treat to watch though.

  • Contrast this with Lucy Ricardo, lol.

  • Lucy, I'm home! Wowsa!

  • HOT STUFF!

  • was that maureen ohara at the record player ?

  • @artdecowitch yep

  • What an incredible actress! There wasn't a hint of I Love Lucy to be seen. She was definitely one of a kind and no one today compares to her comic genius and ability to take on any role.

  • So when my grandparents talk about the good ol' wholesome days, I'm going to show them this clip.

  • @AlexandraOfPella my mom used to say that people did the same stuff they did now, only with more petticaoas

  • @AlexandraOfPella hollywood became puritanical only after they created The Code. Look up "Motion Picture Production Code".

  • @wattever333 Actually, that Hollywood Code came in c. 1934 ... and this film Dance, Girls Dance was 1940. But relative to later "let it all hang out" de-mystique-ization, here Lucy exudes "subtle sexuality," hinting at more.

  • @JudgeJulieLit Thank you for correcting me, even though I made no mistake. I guess using a condescending tone makes you feel big.
