Look at VVVVVV*thatsdax*c()m for US made friction drive brackets and motors similar to that, with a centrifugal clutch and optional roller sizes. It's cool you made one though.
You can get a weed wacker, edgers, or chainsaw motors dirt cheap on craigslist. You can also pickup old lawnmowers and rototillers too. Most of these will require you to rebuild them and some will require you to convert it to a horizontal drive.
No offense but this design is kinda stupid. Look what happens to the back tire. you can get way more power out of useing a chain. I actually bought a kit online that is for converting bicycles into mobicycles. It was very easy to assemble and i was very proud at the end of the day. I can do close to 50km and thats only 49 cc i used to have an 80cc that did 60 - 65 km no joke. but that was a bit ridiculous and scary for a bicycle lol
Could you provide more info on the shaft and how you attached it to the weeh eater shaft. Also the length of the 4 by 4 channel and the length of the 2 support pieces of steel.thanks and a very good job you have done on this.
@oooMTBMTBooo raeally mine is 31 cc and goes 40 mph or more did u do mods that is pretty fas for a 21 cc i use a 3/4 socket welded on the clutch but the cluctch is worn so im going to put it on the shaft and make it direct
@yoyostefan Pretty much everything with an engine has some sort of a clutch. The reason the wheels don't spin when at idle is because it has a centrifugal clutch. It has two shoes inside of a clutch drum, that are attached by springs, and as the flywheel turns faster (above idle), these two pads sling out and grip the clutch drum and turn the drive chain. It's kind of hard to explain. You should look it up. It's a really interesting and ingenious concept.
My guess is that this nut job probably was involved in a traumatic head injury from not wearing his helmet. Either that or he wants to start selling these things in the DR. Maybe he even spent some jail time there or just maybe he is a nut job. Next thing he is going to make is a washing machine powered submarine, or maybe a nuclear power plant that uses the pump out of a GE PDW9900NBB Dish Washer. Hey why don't you make a GFB760F powered TOOTH BRUSH??????
Next time have someone take the video of you riding the bike, I think it would be more effective as a demo. To think I knew this guy when he was terrorizing the town on his minibike. Now he's a full blown Hagamaniac. (We can really use these where I live in the DR. Send a few down.)
I actually like the design. Well thought out. Simple and compact. Thx for sharing.

you should have your son hold the camera when you were riding it very safe to do that.

does the type of tire make a difference like is a smooth tire better than a knobby tire for gripping a metal spindle?

has it got a clutch and if not y doesnt the wheel turn when the motor is running
yoyostefan 2 years ago 4
@yoyostefan The same reason a weed whacker doesn't spin when you start it... It doesn't spin unless you give it gas
