WOW! I learned allot about how they make skateboards now. I always known about what the trees that are mainly used. Canadian Maple wood is the #1 Wood I always look for when buying a skateboard. Its not always about the graphics on the bottom of the board. I Like riding Blank Decks more then boards with graphics on them because they both ride the same. I understand that's not supporting the company's but not everyone has $50-$60 bucks.

My almost chris haslam got rolled over by a small truck a month and a half ago board first trucks below. But, I was surprised when it only left a small marking scratch on the initial ply about a size of a toothpick. near the bolts on the nose and it still gives a very decent pop. I had to change my trucks though coz it was the one who got all the damage, I change boards every six months and for me almost boards made it, to my list of reliable board brands. :) for me.

Canadian wood is the strongest, there is no sense shipping it to China then shipped back here... All DSM cares about is money, why else would their factory be in China?

If the companies were in the US then the company will get very low profit, therefore they wouldn't be able to pay for the new research and they wouldnt really be able to improve the quality of their skateboards.

Just stop. Do you work for DSM or something? Making a great skateboard doesn't involve research. Skaters will always skate 7 ply maple decks, This can all be done in North America, with the strongest Canadian wood. Why ship it to china and back? That excessive travel impacts the deck quality (weather, wear)

@flip92 First of all, I do not work for DSM (I wish I did) and second of all, making good skateboards DOES require research. Plain old 7 maple decks are good, even i sometimes prefer them to graphic decks, but without research you couldn't make all those p2 decks with amazing pop and also which are very light but at the same time, very strong. Without research, good skateboard companies like Plan B and Flip will just be your average skateboard company.
