Not bad for an amateurish attempt. It needs work. More sophisticated equipment perhaps, and better direction. Love the concept though. Their are movies and miniseries that would be great if a global scope was used. V is one. Independence Day is another. The British resistance would be interesting to watch. And seeing the mother ship over British land marks was cool (still needs a little sprucing up). All in all, not bad. I enjoyed it.

Considering how the absense of Kenneth Johnson sorely affected the final series, it still has a grand follwing today. I remember when the lonnger series aired, and how disappointed I was by how the visitors no longer spoke with that cool alien modulation effect. The same footage and fx was re-used over and over. It had become a soap opera, so much so, that my mother and older sisters loved it as much as Dynasty and Dallas. Nooking forward to new series though.

Yep, they've released V - The Original Miniseries (great), V - The Final Battle (okay) & V - The Series (dire!) on DVD - most online shops have them aswell as high street stores.

I thought The Final Battle had some great moments, don't get me wrong, but the whole starchild-with-superpowers was a total cop-out ending & the general direction wasn't half as classy as KJ's original - it was all getting a bit "Dallas" even then - by the time the series came along (which is also up on youtube) it had major plot-holes, recycled special effects & a lot of the storylines appeared to be written for kids/soap fans. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion so you be the judge!

Hehe this one was done with single-frame GIFs only - the second I took scenes frame-by-frame from the original footage & superimposed on the backgrounds. I'm learning... give me a chance LOL

Well the first one was mainly ULead Gif Animator coupled with JASC Animation Shop - I sequenced the resulting animated GIFs in Sony Vegas 4 (I've since upgraded to version 7) where I added the soundtrack. The 2nd vid was more of the same but using more of Vegas' effects (particularly the chromakey function)

Also good to know that Kenneth Johnson has written a new novel: "V:The Second Generation", soon to be published. No doubt the mini-series will soon follow. Its so exciting.

For this one I used ULead GIF Animator 5 in conjunction with Paint Shop Pro 7 & Animation Shop 3, as it was all put together using pretty basic moving 2D layers, but I added the sound & joined up the relevant GIFs in Vegas Video & rendered it from there...
