Jigoro Kano studied TSR first, Kito Ryu after. He was awarded with the rank of Soke in both styles of JJ. Thus He was allowed (following the rules of that time) to create his own style, the Judo Kodokan (initially known also as Kano Ryu).
Excellent demonstration of koryu bujutsu! I'm very interested in training in Tenjin Shinyo Ryu myself, but unfortunately I can't find a local dojo. Thank you so much for posting!
I'm very happy to see that Tenjin Shinyo Ryu Jiu-jitsu style still exist. That must be a rare video. I'm practicing a style derivated from TSR in Belgium for years and i was persuaded that none was abble to teach it nowadays. That's a great news for me!
However, the kata is very rushed with poor techinque, particularly the Chu-dan tachi ai. I wonder if it is because they are training on hard floor, that they are all 'soft' ? Even aside from the variations from tenjin kata technique, it certainly doesn't look very sharp!! What is going on with their stances??
Why do these Tenjin Shinyo Ryu wear those bandanas?

I think you mean Jigoro Kano was awarded the Menkyo Kaiden in both styles, not the rank of Soke... Soke is the head of the tradition...

Ueshiba took this and Yagyu Shingan Ryu (Edo line). Jigoro Kano also took this if I'm not wrong

Bueno.
Es viejo, pero no ése viejo. Del 1800's. Es inmóvil del Koryu.
