Also saw Classique Metropolitain in the Paris Metro around 2001. They may have been performing in one of the stops near Les Halles or the Marais. I requested that they play Albinoni's Adagio and it was one of my most memorable events of the trip.
I find it amazing that Joshua Bell, in disguise, can play his violin in the subway in Wash, DC and out of hundreds of people, only one or two stopped to listen, and I believe it was because a child wanted their parent to stop. Crowd in Paris was SRO
I saw Classique Metropolitain in the streets of Paris as well. My teacher bought both of their cds and copied them for me when we came home. Does anyone have a list of the songs on the cds and or the titles of the cds so I can try to find them?
Thanks - I caught them in Paris by chance and stayed for their complete show. I ended up buying one CD which I thought was quite expensive, but now I wish I had bought both CDs that they were selling. To stand 10 feet away from them and feel the music is really an awesome feeling. If anyone knows how to contact them, please let me know. I'm heading back to Paris and I'd like to know when they'll be playing.
I do too, so much...I came back from Paris 2 days ago, and during the 10 days i was there, i searched for them everywhere i could think of; every single day i went to the Place des Vosges in the hopes to hear them, but no such luck... I also tried Place de la Sorbonne, they've been known to play there too, but again, in vain..
I bought a CD from them on sept 11th 2002. How time flies. I still listen to their CD all the time. Their versions I still prefer. Especially Canon in D by Pachobel. At the time, there was only about 7 players. It seems like they have grown. If anyone see's them, then buy their cd's. They had two on sale at the time and i could only afford one. Priceless.
